After treating a 19 year old retired gelding for pyloric ulcers I made the decision to do preventive therapy for him. After an extensive literature review in the peer-reviewed veterinarian journals, I selected SmartGut Ultra. To-date he has been ulcer free!

Great results!
I started my horse on Smartgut ultra after being scoped and finding grade 4 ulcers. I was thrilled when after his 28th day check on treatment of gastrogard we could begin weaning him off treatment as his ulcers were nearly fully healed. I definitely believe Smartgut ultra played a huge role in making him more comfortable during treatment.

My guy finally is filling out.
I bought this for a rescue I got in May. He came to me very thin, pretty lame, colicky, cribbing after every meal and he had signs of having been on painkillers/meds for some time. I suspected (due to scars, symptoms) that he had had some injuries that kept him stall bound and on meds for a good part of his recent years and likely suffered gastric issues from that. After 2 months of 24 hour pasture/turn out and good feed, he still seemed uncomfortable, cribbed and wouldn't fill out, especially in the rear and top line. After just 3 weeks on SmartGut, he looks great! His hind end has filled in, and his spine is far less prominent. He is also much better tempered and LOVES his food. The cribbing still happens, but far less and only after feed times & if he has access to something he can grab with his teeth- otherwise he doesn't bother. I highly recommend this product for anyone with older, thin horses just to help them out.

It's working for my ulcer-prone Warmblood
After treating my horse for ulcers, I used a more expensive treatment for prevention. When I took him off that, he developed ulcers again. After treating the second bout of ulcers, I put him on SmartGut Ultra Pellets. I'm very pleased to report that a recent scope showed no evidence of ulcers, which confirmed that this supplement works.

Consistent
I have been using this product for several months now and Carrie seems very comfortable. Her stooling is consistent and always has a sheen
of moisture in appearance. the pellets are easily eaten mixed with her feed.

really helps
i used this supplement on my 19yo gelding for his whole life- it really help him to keep up with me! I can totally tell when he's off it- he starts to show bad behavior and refuses to do everything. when he's on the supplement- he can and will go wherever i'll point him to. A little too pricy though He never shows bad behavior or pain in his belly while he's on it. thank you SmartPak

Working well and my picky eater is liking it
My horse was having some hard to diagnose issues that included obvious pain/discomfort but not colic, refusal to work, and a very poor attitude in general. After a gastroscopy revealed some sort of irritation in his gut, the vets recommended SmartGut Ultra in addition to some other things to manage stress. Collectively, these seem to be working. His happy personality and willingness to please have returned.

My horse loves them!

Keeping my mare going
Seems to be helping my mare, glad I tried it. My mare is a fussy eater and she will eat these pellets right out of your hand. It is worth a try to help horses with ulcer symptoms.

Great !
I had my mare on 30 days of omeprazole and still not eating that great, most symptoms had subsided, kicking at belly when cinched, ear pinning, ect but not until about 3 or 4 days on the smart gut ultra did she start eating all her food, now she is eating 3 meals a day without any hesitation, all ulcer symptoms are gone and she is happy as can be !

Love it
We have been fighting ulcers in my show horse for a year. We were treating him with a preventative however they still came back. I started him on Smart gut ultra about a month ago. His attitude has changed, he has started to put his weight back on and just over all doing better.

AMAZING!!!
I bought the SmartGut Ultra Pellets for my horse after trying for several months to treat his diarrhea. Vet said she could find nothing wrong, but might be start of an ulcer. My other horse had passed away and the stress seemed to have created a problem that many of the other products I tried on him could not help. Within a week of being on the SmartGut Ultra Pellets he had no diarrhea! I couldn't believe it! He is 27 years old and I thought that he was going downhill, but now he is playful and sassy again! Thanks SmartPak for creating a product that helped my boy!

Great Product!!
My horse had two impact colics over the winter and 2 gas colics along with being super gassy. Every since putting him on this we haven't had any colic issues ( knock on wood ) and he no longer has excess gas =D He has been much more happier. Happy horse= Happy owner =)

Vet suggested this
Mini's needed gastro guard but it was not in my budget. This has been a successful supplement, they feel better and I plan to keep them on it a few more months with hopes of getting them off the nsaids soon ( had laminitis from grass). They can be picky, but they ate it without complaints.
