With the exception of drop ship orders (which always ship from our manufacturers), whenever any item in your order isn't in stock in one of our main warehouses, our automated system checks and pulls from the stock of our other two distribution centers. While we don't currently have a way to set a preference for shipping items together, we're always striving to improve this experience and help the environment.

Depending on the product, we may carry replacement parts. In the overview section on your original product's detail page, check to see if there are linked replacement parts or accessories that can be ordered separately. For all in-stock items, SmartPak and our vendors will ship items to you as soon as they have processed according to each item's estimated delivery timeframe allowance. When placing orders with us, you'll receive an order confirmation email, and then a shipping notification email once the order has shipped. To check on the shipping/delivery status of your order, please log in and visit your order history. Sometimes your items may be grouped in different packages, but each group will be updated with tracking numbers when those become available.

Orders without tracking numbers, such as items shipping directly from one of our vendors, special orders, or backorders, may require more time to process and ship. You can find guidance on estimated delivery times on each item's product detail page as well as your order confirmation email. Please be sure to check all of your email folders (including Junk/Spam) for your order confirmation email and also for email updates from us.

Delayed/Backordered items: When orders are delayed or are backordered, our policy is to contact you by email to let you know. Please be sure to check all of your email folders, including your Spam folder, for updates from us.

Backordered items that will take more than 30 days to ship will automatically cancel unless you opt into keeping them. You will not be charged for your backordered item until it comes back into stock.

You can cancel your order for backordered items any time before they ship, as long as they haven't come back into stock and processed. To do so, please visit your order history or contact us by phone or live chat.

AutoShip Orders

Need to adjust your AutoShip order's ship date? No problem! Start by clicking on the "Your Account" link in the upper right hand corner of the website. Next click on AutoShip Manager. On the left hand side of the screen there is an option to "Change ship date" for each auto-ship order. Clicking on that will prompt a pop-up that will walk you through changing your next ship date.

You can update your shipping address at any time by accessing "Your Account" (tap on the icon of the person on the left side on mobile devices, or on upper right hand corner of the website on desktop) and then clicking on the AutoShip Manager. From here choose "Change shipping address." On the next screen you can select from existing addresses by clicking on "Use this Address" or you can add a new address. Once the page refreshes, you'll see the new address listed below the order and you're done! For orders on AutoShip, make sure that you change the address before the Change-by Date listed.

SmartPaks

SmartPaks are custom-made, pre-measured daily doses of your horse's supplements. Click here to learn more about the SmartPaks Feeding System.

All individual SmartPaks with a total cost over $40 (pre-tax and discounts) will automatically receive free shipping. If you have multiple SmartPaks which total over $75 together, those orders will also qualify for free shipping. Lastly, you can receive free shipping regardless of your order total by using your weekly Barn Saver Shipping Day, in which you ship your order to a commercial barn address.

Once your order is placed, your SmartPaks are custom-made and shipped from our Plymouth, MA headquarters. This means it may take a few extra days for your first order to arrive. You'll receive a new supply of SmartPaks every 28 days (4 weeks) so your horse or dog will always have fresh, accurately dosed supplements. For recurring shipments, your account will be billed 2 business days in advance of your shipping date to allow time to custom make your SmartPaks to ship on time within the 28-day cycle. You can adjust your shipments anytime before the change-by date listed in your AutoShip manager. We'll also email you a reminder every month.

You can always add additional items to ship free along with your AutoShip order. Please add the desired item(s) to your cart, then click "Checkout Now." On the Order Review page, make sure your shipping address is set to the same address your AutoShip orders are set to ship to. Under shipping options, choose the option that says "Ship FREE with your order on ________."

Yes, you can easily update your shipping date for your SmartPaks by visiting the AutoShip Manager on our website (if you’re not logged in already, you’ll be prompted to do so first). Next, select your horse's next order and hit the "Edit This Order" button. From there, you’ll be taken to the SmartPaks Manager, where you’ll have the ability to edit your next ship date. SmartPaks are tightly sealed to protect potency and provide your horse the freshest supplements available. For best results, we recommend feeding them within 6 months of the shipping date, which is printed on the top of each SmartPak strip.

Supplements

While we’ve developed our supplements to be palatable to even the pickiest eaters, some horses might need additional encouragement. Adding an aroma or flavor can be enough to entice them into trying the supplements. Examples include applesauce, molasses, or Equi-Sweet, which is a sugar-free flavoring that you can pour over the feed. If you're still having trouble, feel free to reach out to our Horse Health Experts and we'd be happy to help!

Like most supplements, safe use of this product in pregnant or lactating mares has not been studied. We always recommend seeking your veterinarian’s advice before adding any new supplements to your mare’s diet especially with such precious cargo on board.

We recommend supplements be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. The temperature of most feed rooms is appropriate for most supplements.

We are happy to offer Taste Test Samples of our own, private label supplement brands to customers with picky eaters. This includes SmartSupplements, Leg Up, and Smart & Simple. Please contact our Horse Health Experts to request yours!

Since US Equestrian (formerly USEF) never states that a supplement of any kind is “show safe” or "legal", SmartPak cannot state this either. That said, we do indicate on each product page whether a supplement contains ingredients currently published by US Equestrian as prohibited. We encourage riders to consult the governing body for any organizations under which they may compete for the most accurate information.

Our Private Label supplements (SmartSupplements, Leg Up, Smart & Simple) are manufactured and packaged in the USA at an NASC-accredited facility. We do not allow our products to share manufacturing lines with products that contain high-risk materials such as Rumensin (a product meant for use in ruminants only, such as cows).

Our Private Label supplements are made in the USA and include ingredients selected from around the world.

Some of the ingredients used in our private label supplements and other brands we carry are organically grown. However, they do not bear the 'certified organic' seal because, in some cases, the certification process is more rigorous and expensive than small local farmers may be able to justify.

While the Non-Structural Carbohydrate (NSC or sugars plus starches) content is important to consider when looking at the cornerstones of a horse's diet - such as hay and grain - it is not as meaningful in products with such small serving sizes, like supplements. For example, a grain with a serving size of 9 lbs. and NSC content of 12% would be providing far more sugars and starches (490 grams) than a supplement with an 80 gram serving size and a 12% NSC content (9 grams).

The NASC is the National Animal Supplement Council, which is a nonprofit industry group founded with the goal of improving and standardizing the animal health supplement industry. NASC member companies are required to demonstrate compliance with certain criteria before they are granted permission to display the Seal on their products, websites, product literature, and advertisements.

Payment

Unfortunately, our system doesn't currently allow for splitting the charge between two payment methods.

You can use pre-paid (non-SmartPak) gift cards on the payment method screen where you would normally enter a credit card. Please note that the balance of this card must exceed the total amount of your order (including shipping and sales tax) for our system to be able to process it.

Our e-commerce billing platform processes purchases once every 30 minutes. To make multiple purchases using different credit cards, we suggest waiting at least one hour or more between purchases. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, and are working hard to address this experience in the near future.

Once you enter a SmartPak gift card, the amount becomes an account credit and will automatically apply to your next order. If you're the lucky recipient of a gift card during a special occasion or holiday, we recommend waiting until you've decided what you'd like to purchase, and then apply the gift card during checkout.

Our site offers an extended log-in which supports your browsing and shopping activities, like saving to cart or adding to your wishlist. For security purposes, any time you make a change to your account, we do need to make sure the changes are being made by the account holder, which is why you'll sometimes be asked to log in again.
