Just what we needed
I had a weanling shipped to me, and after terrible weather and a much longer trip than usual, she arrived under the weather. It seems she had started an ulcer (not confirmed) from such a long journey. After a week of Ulcer meds, my vet recommended switching my filly to Smartgut Ultra. I called Smartpak, and of course they helped me with dosage, shipping, etc. It arrived in 2 days, and helped get my filly back to feeling terrific. Definitely recommend!

Winner Product!
I've had my 5 year old Quarter mare on this supplement for one month and I am THRILLED with the results! She was grinding her teeth and showing sensitivity on her flanks, her underside, her complete tummy area since I got her in July (2015). Each time I touched her sides or tummy during grooming or tacking up she'd grind her teeth and threaten to bite or kick. Per my vet's suggestion, she had a month long course of omeprazole and a dental float. Then I added a month of SmartGut Pellets. She was still grinding her teeth and showing some sensitivity, although both were greatly reduced. Within a week of starting her on the SmartGut Ultra Pellets, the teeth grinding stopped!! And the sensitivity vanished! Thank you SmartPak! Thank you Supplement Wizard! We are both eternally grateful.

Turned my horse around
My horse always loses weight in the winter, but this year has been the worst. He was losing interest in eating and wasn't finishing all of his feed. He had no fever, wasn't sick. One month ago I started feeding SmartGut Ultra. He has totally turned around. He's coming in for feed, eating every morsel in his tub and beginning to add weight. I am very glad I gave it a try.

All I can say is WOW!!!!
I have been fighting with this for over a year. It presents as respiratory, with heaving, coughing and heavy wheezing (diagnoses heaves). Tried SmartBreathe which didn't work. Went through 2 courses of steroids and antibiotics, would clear up and then come back. Started watching him and noticed that when he got really bad he would pass gas and poop a lot and then feel better, like let's get up and canter better, so I tried SmartDigest thinking hindgut. Had a really bad episode while camping and once again after passing lots of gas and pooping A LOT, he was better. (he still always breathes a bit heavy at the heave line). Started reading up on ulcers and all the puzzle pieces seemed to move in place. Ordered SmartGut Ultra and within a day could see a huge improvement! A week and a half after starting it, we went for a ride and he ran into a very stressful situation which started him wheezing and breathing heavy but the difference this time was that instead of being out of commission until it all passed through him, he was fine in five minutes and we finished out our ride with him in "normal" condition. What a wonderful product! The only downfall is the price :( Worth it in the short term but expensive if he has to stay on this

Made the difference pharmaceuticals didn't!
My coming 4 year old futurity prospect started acting off with the weather change; lying down much more than usual, and over the course of three days started looking at her sides, kicking her belly, classic colic signs. We treated with Banamine and she went back to herself the rest of the day. Next morning she was back down and acting depressed. Took her to the vet and received a diagnosis of Colitis and an upset stomach though no colic. Vet treated with antibiotics, kaopectin, Platinum Bio Sponge, and electrolytes and recommended small doses of banamine if she acted really off with continued antibiotics and Bio Sponge. Charlotte also had bad diahhrea. Two days later she was still staying away from the herd, not eating or drinking well, and depressed. I had some SmartGut that I hadn't opened yet, and started her on it. The next day she was back at the bale with the herd, and acting perky. It's been a week now and she is back to herself, and possibly even a little happier! She has always been a bossy mare and I see less crankiness in her now! Will be keeping her on this product for a very long time! Thank you Smartpak!

Great tast

Easily consumed, Changes not noticeable.
I tried this for a month and I can't say I noticed much of a difference. However, she ate it and maybe just wasn't as reactive as other horses.

Huge difference in attitude
Although she has a near perfect living situation, I suspected my anxious, reactive, eight-year-old 3/4 TB mare was experiencing some gastric distress. After a couple months on smart gut ultra, she is a new horse. Her behavior transitioned from sour, challenging and extraordinarily spooky to willing, relaxed and happy. She will still look at offending objects, but doesn't have an explosive reaction.
Before starting smart gut ultra, she was getting mare magic for difficult cycles and smart calm to ease her anxiety. Each supplement helped a little, but all three seem to be a winning combination for my mare. It is pricey, but our time together is pleasant and she finally seems comfortable.

Seemed to help & my vet uses it, too!
I got this item because it had so many supplements that I had read are good in helping keep ulcers from recurring. Though I did not have my horse actually scoped to be given an "official diagnosis" of ulcers, he showed the tell-tale symptoms, so we medicated him with a paste ulcer med, then I started him on this product. My vet said it would be a good thing to give him for at least a month. He seemed to respond very well and has not appeared to have any repeat flareups. So far, so good! The only drawback is cost.

Great Ulcer Preventative
I put my mare on this after she completed treatment for ulcers. This combined with U7 liquid before rides and UlcerGuard when at shows, has kept ulcers away! The only thing that would improve this product would be if the 10 lb. was available in a bag as a refill.

IT WORKS BUT IS A LITTLY PRICEY
I thought I would try this out when my acupuncturist said his "point" was reactive for ulcers. It did everything it was advertised to do and made my horse feel better. I just feel that is was a bit expensive and aloe vera juice worked just as well for $7.95 a gallon, which also lasts a month.

This product was recommended by a vet. He said it is one of the few products that does not lose its effectiveness and is a good maintenance product after a horse has been treated for ulcers.

Very happy pony!
My Morgan mare is now halfway through her second shipment of Smartgut Ultra and she absolutely loves the taste. I love the fact that she no longer displays any symptoms of gut issues that had made her extremely difficult to ride. She is now consistently willing to work and so much more relaxed. Thank you!

Huge difference!
I bought this product about a month ago after I took my horse to a show && people mentioned he may have ulcers. I could not afford the full treatment right away && I purchased this product to help manage my horse's stomach issues. His top line has always been horrible && I have always been doing exercises to help, but with no improvements. After a month of my horse being on this supplement, I saw a huge difference. His top line is filling out && so is his rear end. He is a much happier && more easy going horse. His temperment has changed durastically.

Happy horse on SmartGut Ultra
My horse was diagnosed with ulcers, and was treated for a month, and the ulcers healed. My vet recommended starting him on SmartGut Ultra pellets, so I ordered them and started him on it right away. I want to do everything I can to prevent him from getting ulcers in the future.

Less stress-induced loose manure
My driving mini would sometimes eat the clay soil in the dry lot. The vet thought that might indicate ulcers, but it wasn't constant. When loading for trailering, or getting harnessed to drive, he would often have loose stools--I figured from stress. When he stayed at my trainer's, she noted that he seemed anxious. Prior to my owning him, he competed in the AMHR show circuit, even traveling to Nationals, so he had been in a stress-filled life before. Now the shows are mainly local, but he still seemed anxious. So after consulting with my vet, I decided to try SmartGut Ultra pellets. I had no trouble with him eating the pellets (his grain is pellets as well, although smaller).
I have completed one 5# bucket, which lasts me 2 months, and I have been through several competitions and trailerings. He does not have pre-harnessing stools now, and when trailering to events, or even staying at those barns, his stools were good. When at my trainer's during the spring, she thought he seemed calmer. Perhaps this has removed the pain in his digestive tract that he felt before, resulting in a more positive association with what before had caused pain.
I am happy with the results and will continue with this product.

I bought this product a year ago for a mare that had ulcer issues. We tried alsorts of exspensive products but nothing worked as good as this product. I will not quit using this product as she feels great looks amazing and is happy.

This product works.
I have Thoroughbred race horses. I have one gelding that we had to keep on the treatment dose of omeprazole and he still didn't eat as well as we would like. Within 2 weeks of being on this product he was eating well. We have reduced him to the maintenance dose of omeprazole and are now weaning him off of it totally. He is not only eating but we have increased his rations. I am very pleased with this product.

Sadly, doesn't work
I put my horse on this as a preventative after treating with omeprazole for a month. Things were great for about 2 months and now the ulcers are back, and we are back to square one. Don't waste your money.

Appears To Be Working
I purchased this to help my OTTB that had ulcers when I got him. I treated him for ulcers and they healed. I am using the product to prevent the return of ulcers. He is a picky eater and there is no problems getting him to eat the pellets. At this point in time under light work, he does not show any signs that the ulcers have returned.
