Trauma Void™’s EQ3™ helmet is the wave of the future and the next step in brain protection technology for the equine industry. The most important component of the EQ3 helmet design is the incorporated Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (“MIPS”) technology, which has been used in bike, motor, and snow helmets for years. Safety may be the first priority of Trauma Void’s EQ3 helmet, but it has also been designed for comfort, style, and affordability. The design features a removable and washable COOLMAX® lining inside with great ventilation.
Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) technology has been tested over countless hours and is proven to offer better protection against rotational motion than a helmet without MIPS. Since 1996, research and tests have been performed to compare a helmet with the MIPS Brain Protection System to a conventional helmet. The results showed that it was possible to redirect and reduce the rotational motion transmitted to the brain by adding the MIPS Brain Protection System.

These tend to run small we recommend rounding up to the nearest cm and then go up one size.
To measure your head for the best fit, use a tape measure in centimeters. Place the tape measure ½ - 1 inch above the eyebrows (it should skim the tops of the ears), and take it round to the fullest part of the head. This is the circumference of your head in centimeters, and you should choose a helmet size that is in this range.
Firmness and tightness can feel similar when wearing your helmet, so take notice to the difference. When wearing the helmet, the brim should be about ½ - 1 inch above your eyebrows and level across. You should feel a firm, even pressure around the circumference of your head. No gap should exist between your helmet and head.

Great fit!
I love the way this helmet fits and looks! As I’m riding it doesn’t move at all. I have been waiting for the MIPS technology to become more included in the riding helmet line before making a purchase so that I would have several choices in case one design did not fit.
After reading the reviews, the Trauma Void was my first choice. It did not disappoint but
order one size larger as suggested since it sits a little higher on your head.

Comfort and Safety
I got this as an early Christmas present and couldn't be happier. I read all the reviews and took into account the advice there. The helmet fits so well. (I bought a 7). One review said it was squeaky, which was fixed by ensuring the harness was adjusted properly. Highly recommend

A good helmet
I liked the safety features of it and the liner is quite comfortable. It's not the most stylish helmet on the market but I would prefer the best head protection. The ventilation isn't amazing but it really doesn't bother me. Overall I would recommend this. The harness is nice and well padded to which is a bonus.

Safe and Comfortable
I bought this helmet on sale on National Helmet day but it would have been a good choice at the regular price as well. It fit me very well in the 6 5/8 size and is cooler in our hot sun than I expected. I find it very comfortable all around and I appreciate the extra protection.

Best helmet
This is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn! Bought it because after multiple concussions, I liked the extra safety features. The fact that it’s attractive and comfortable is a bonus. I forget that I’m still wearing it all the time, and I typically am a person who gets helmet headaches. Also ordered the lynx which did not fit my head correctly.

Love it!!
I bought this helmet to replace an old one after a fall. The technology and price appealed to me. It’s a perfect fit and feels very secure. It’s easy to clean and nice to look at. Overall very happy with it and will purchase again if I need another helmet.

Great helmet if it fits.
I really wanted EQ3. My friends love those and they are supposed to be very safe. Unfortunately my head turned out to be to round for helmet to fit. One size was too large, and size down was to tight in my temples and little loose in front and back ( with round insert)

Great if you can get the right size!
Chose between this EQ3 model and Trauma Void's other model the Lynx. I returned this model in favor of the superior fit the Lynx gave me.
My only gripe that kept me from going with this model was the fit. WAY too small! I had already gone up a size and a half. I measured between 55 and 56 cm at the widest point of my head. I ordered the sizing corresponding to 57 cm based on other reviews. Still WAY too tight!
If you can order multiple sizes, I'd say go for it! Quality helmet with an attractive profile.

Great helmet
I LOVE this helmet. I originally bought tht lynx, but hated the way it looked and fit. The EQ3 is such a great fit on my head. I was worried it would be too hot, I've ridden in Tipperary Sportages for the last decade or so so I'm used to lots of ventilation. But it's isn't hot at all

Very comfortable but order up a size
I measure 58 1/2 cm - tried the Lynx helmet but medium was too small and large was too big. I ordered the 59 cm and 60 cm based on reviews and the 60 cm fit perfectly with the oval head liner (the one with the padding on the sides). The only fit issue I would say is weird is the chin strap seems to jut out a bit forward. I also ordered the blue because the black was not in stock and actually like it alot - from far away it almost looks black. Can not comment on durability yet. I previously wore a 7 1/4 in Charles Owen.

Weird sizing
I’ve had two fall-related concussions in the past year so I really REALLY wanted this helmet to fit and live up to my expectations. My head is 57.15 cm so I ordered the 57 cm and it was too small, ordered the 57 1/8 and it was way too big. The leather strap around the ears hit way too high up and the helmet just sat very high on the head. It seems like a very nice helmet- just had a strange fit. If you’re unsure of size I would recommend ordering both.

strange fit
I wanted a helmet for better protection.
my head is 7 1/4
The Lynx in large was too big and the medium snug when fully opened.
This helmet in 7 !/4 fit from front to back. The side fit was very sloppy with both liners.
The excessive length on the chin strap absurd I had a 5 inch tail that would have been a drag to ride with.
If it fit it might be OK but I'll go with the Lynx.

Bought this for the extra protection ... But the fit is a little non-traditional. (If you have an oval-type head, go up a size!) The one I needed was out of stock in black. Tried the navy and I just LOVE it. Not bright, just a black with a subtle blue. Perfect.

Great helmet, runs small...
This is a really great helmet, bit it runs small. I am a 6 7/8 and can wear a 6 5/8 although it's a bit snug. I read other reviews and went up to a size 7 when I ordered. It fit like a 6 5/8. I ordered the Lynx in a 7, and it has been wonderful.

Most comfortable helmet I've ever worn!
I tried the Trauma Void at this year's WEG and was really impressed by the safety technology and its comfort. For the price it was worth the gamble (my previous helmet was $600+), and I'm so glad I did. It's really comfortable and flattering!

Doesn’t fit :(
I wanted to love this helmet. I really did. I was particularly interested in it because of the high safety ratings and new MIPS technology. (And thanks to International Helmet Awareness Day, I got a great deal on it!) The helmet style is lovely and has a good profile, but it just didn’t fit. The 7 1/4 fit my head circumference but was much too shallow for the top of my head. The 7 1/2 was a much better depth but had too large of a circumference. Also, the chin strap was weirdly long, and I had to shorten it all the way for a decent fit. Sadly, SmartPak doesn’t carry the 7 3/8. Was so disappointed this didn’t work out!!

Amazing! A must own helment!
Bought this helmet just recently and actually had a crash last week. I have had crashes in other top brand helmets, and have walked away with headaches and neck aches. But not with this helmet! The only part of my body that did not hurt was my neck and head! And I landed directly on my head!!! I used my right hand to help break my fall ,which resulted in a badly broken collarbone. But, my head was great! Catscan came back clean and I have not gotten a headache or neck cramp. Highly recommend this helmet!!!!

I really wanted to love it
The helmet fit well, looked great BUT is squeaked and creaked terribly. No squeaking while sitting still but the posting trot and even worse the sitting trot was a squeaky nightmare. I tried both liners and the second liner made it squeak even worse. I'm just not sold on the technology and safety of the helmet because of this. Sending back and will be getting something else.
