The ever popular One K Defender now with MIPS technology. Founded in 1996 by a neurosurgeon and a researcher from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System and is designed to add protection against rotational motion transmitted to the brain from angled impacts to the head. MIPS added protection has been independently proven to reduce rotational motion by redirecting forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain. One K MIPS helmet features black matte Polycarbonate and Advanced ABS Composite outer shell; injection molded shell design; washable quick-dry, moisture wicking, anti-microbial liner; and comfort padded harness with synthetic suede lining, hook & loop adjustment, and Fastex buckle; two front, one back, and two center stripe vents. For best care, wipe down with a clean, damp cloth for dust or dirt;machine wash removable inner liner. Compatible with the CCS Custom Color System.

Safe, Stylish, and Affordable!
After undergoing my third concussion last year, I realized that I needed to do everything in my power to protect my brain. I have always been a religious helmet wearer and always try to be as safe a rider as possible, but I had never tried out a helmet with MIPS technology. Over the years, as MIPS has become more prevalent in the industry, I have heard more and more from friends and colleagues about their positive experiences with MIPS helmets and how important they feel that it is to have a helmets with MIPS. Therefore, after my fall last year, I decided to replace my trusty IRH Suede Helmet with IRH’s crash replacement policy, but I also decided that it was time to buy a MIPS helmet as my daily schooling helmet. That said, I was not wanting to break the bank, and after lots of research and recommendations from friends and colleagues, I decided that OneK was the best next step for me. And boy was I right!! I absolutely love the sleek look of my One K Defender CCS MIPS Helmet and how perfectly it fits me, plus the fact that it is a relatively average price compared to a lot of other helmets that it looks a lot like! I am very happy with this helmet and brand, and I am so glad that I made the switch!

Beautiful, comfortable helmet!
When my old helmet hit its 5-year birthday and it was time to shop for a new one, I knew I wanted a helmet with MIPS technology. The One K Defender CCS MIPS caught my eye immediately because of the customization options. I did try them on in person at Land Rover Kentucky and found that I needed the long oval shape. I suffer from chronic migraines, and helmets are a huge trigger for my headaches. This helmet is so light and airy, I hardly ever deal with a migraine after riding anymore. I'm SO happy I purchased this helmet. The price point alone is worth it, the MIPS is a huge bonus, and the color options are so much fun.

Great head protection!
I just had two brain surgeries and I had a One K but it was not the MIPS so I purchased this for extra head protection due to having a shunt put in my head. My doctor agreed to get the best protection I could.

Size Up!
I am replacing my Ovation helmet which is a M/L and purchased multiple helmets to try including this one. I am really hoping to get a MIPS helmet with the most advanced safety technology. Unfortunately this helmet didn't fit, despite being a size large. I could get it on but it was tight and didn't seem to sit down far enough. The biggest issue was the chin strap...I had to adjust it all the way out to get it to fit and then it hit an awkward point on my ears that I felt like would bother me. The helmets with MIPS seem to run on the small side (other reviews have said this as well) so I wish manufacturers would offer larger size options for us people with big heads! This helmet does come in a XL so I think I will order that to try. It is an attractive helmet (as far as helmets go) and I like the features, so I think it would be good if I can find the right fit. The ear straps seem a little odd so hopefully that won't be an issue with a bigger size. Thanks to SmartPak for the awesome/easy return process though! It makes it so I can try multiple helmets easily.

Light and comfortable
Love this helmet! When I realized I'd had my Charles Owen AYR8 for over 5 years, I knew I needed a new helmet and I originally was thinking of ordering the CO again. Then I found this one and I am so glad I ordered it. My CO was always heavy and my neck would get sore after long rides. This helmet is extremely comfortable and lightweight, and the material is much easier to clean than the leather on my CO, as a bonus it looks very professional on. I also loves the MIPS rating, which makes me feel safer when riding.
