Low quality
I got these for Chistmas and I put them on my saddle and they immediately started cracking. I also tried to punch a hole in them and it was so stiff that I had to oil it twice just to put it on the saddle.

Look nice to start but poor quality leather.
Bought these in June, just getting around to putting them on my saddle for training a young horse. First pass through the stirrup bar and they started cracking. They’ve been sitting in the tack room for 5 months, shouldn’t be long enough to dry out the leather. Guess I won’t be riding in these…

Run long
I’m short 5’3” and should have ordered the shortest size for my jump saddle, instead of regular. Many holes have been punched.

solid stirrup leathers
I have used them a few times and they do the trick! Nothing fancy, but don't really need that for these and I got them to fit almost immediately...not having to shorten and lengthen a bunch of times!

Pool Quality
Really disappointed with these. I should have read the reviews a little more carefully, as the issues I experienced seem to be a common problem for this product. I purchased 2 sets - 1 black, 1 brown. Noticed they were a little stiff, not terrible, but decided to oil them up a little before using, which helped a lot. But RIGHT AWAY the surface paint/coloring on the black leathers started flaking away on my cleaning sponge. Didn't think too much of it at the time, but it should have been a huge red flag. Now, a few weeks and not even 10 rides later, one of my leathers has a split near the stirrup iron that runs almost all the way through the leather, and I'm afraid to use either of these sets anymore, because I'm noticing a lot of other surface cracks popping up in places where there shouldn't be any. The black set is looking worse than the brown set right now, but it's a pretty close race. It's not like I'm using them hard, either. Each ride only lasts about 20-30 minutes at walk/trot/canter. No jumping, I'm not depending on them to rise out of my seat, I'm not overweight, and I barely even use the stirrups for mounting/dismounting (slide on, slide off). There should be no reason why they'd wear out so fast except that they're made from really low quality leather. Almost a hundred bucks down the drain for 2 sets of junk leathers. Save your money and buy something else. Still waiting to hear back from SmartPak about my options...not a good experience with this product.

Good Value
I needed a shorter set of brown leathers for a jumping saddle and didn't want to pay a fortune. I like the unlined leather because I can punch more holes if needed. I've been using these 54" leathers for about 6 months and they have held up fine. I have found that SmartPak's brand is decent quality and a good value.

They do the job
these leathers reflect their price. A tad cheap looking and very wide. But they do their job of holding stirrups onto the saddle. I don’t anticipate they’ll hold up to wear and tear as after only a few rides they’re already scratched.
