My favorite fly mask now.
This mask works great for all the Florida bugs, great and small. The mask stays off the eyes and allows for good air flow under the mask. I did have to trim the fringe just a bit because my two horses have heads sized between cob and horse. Otherwise, just fine. Will buy again.

Great quality mask! Fits my horse well, the mesh stays away from her eyes and the velcro is strong and secure. Also, the nose fringe is the perfect length. Just bought a 2nd one to use when the other needs to be washed.

Bought few weeks ago. Horse and oversize. I was looking for a mask to fit either of my warmbloods. Both have wide set eyes, one longer head than other. Excellent quality but was too close to eyes. My one horse is really sensitive and rubbed off fast. The oversized was toooo big in throatlatch. Luckily, I have a friend who has a horse the horse size fits perfect! (Large , well sculpted QH). The OS one we are working with.

This mask definitely runs large. It only fits my 16HH mare, and would be massive on my short eared QH. I will probably try for a cob size for her. It fits almost exactly as pictured in the photo. The fringe does hang down that far on her nostrils, but she does not mind. Some have said their horses didn’t like it hanging that far down, but simple solution is to trim the fringe. My mare wearing it is super easy on outfits, so I can’t attest to its durability until I have one on my destroyers of all things nice, the Mustang and the black mare. I love the wide Velcro tab. However, it has a bit of a gather right in the middle of the fringe where it is sewn to the mask, and it seems like it rubbed the hair off in the corresponding spot on her face.

I have a finicky tb that tosses his head when bugs touch him, but with this mask on while I ride he is at ease and comfortable.

Great fly mask!
Great design and fit. Does what a fly mask should do, keeps flies OUT! Darts keep the mask away from eyes and makes it comfortable for my boy. The fringe is a wonderful idea, just brilliant. The larger velcro strap is very secure and the tab to remove it helpful. It's really the perfect fly mask! My boy doesn't have a full forelock, but there is a opening for it. I use it for hanging :-)

Favorite Fly Mask for Visibility!
I own two of these fly masks and rotate them for cleaning at least once a month. Both have lasted through two seasons which is not what I expected since my mare wears this fly mask every day for 4 months at the very least. The durability is excellent, all the stitching remains intact and the fringe has held up beautifully. I like the fringe style because it helps with flies near her nose and is soft enough not to bother her and I never see her nose sunburned. My mare has very long eyelashes and eye whiskers and there is plenty of clearance with no lash interference whatsoever. I find this fly mask very transparent, so it provides supreme visibility and yet is durable enough to have been washed and hung dry (it dries very fast) into my second season. Cannot express enough how impressed I am by this SmartPak Fine Mesh Fly Mask with Fringe Nose.

My mare needed something to cover her nose. She gets sores from fly allergies. I had to trim the fringe a little bit but otherwise it fits great and it stays on her. :)

It’s all about those tassels!
Despite the fly mask with neck cover, my mare often tosses her head when we ride. This mask fits nicely over her bridle and she has almost completely stopped head tossing. I also love that the ears have good ventilation and the throat latch is very secure. Nice product!

The widest fringe that I have found
I bought this because my mare got summer sores on both corners of her mouth. She is a Walkaloosa and has a big head. None of the masks with nose protection covered the corners of her mouth. This fringe did not quite reach, but was the best by far for relieving the flies that tormented her in the corners of the mouth. I went to Joann's and got some similar fringe material, and added five more fringes on each side to ensure the corners of her mouth were covered. You don't have to be too handy with needle and thread to buy cord trim and cut it the length you want and sew it on. It launders well. A design defect, the closure tab under the chin, if your horse has a big head, will leave a large area of exposed Velcro, and the fringe catches and sticks to the Velcro. There is no top cover for the Velcro for this mask. I took a 2"x3" piece of silk and sewed it over the top of the Velcro to protect to fringes from sticking to the Velcro and defeating the purpose of the dangling fringe.
