Instructions for Use:
Turn bottle upside down and shake vigorously.
For Skin Problems & Rubbing: Was out any prior treatment then apply MTG directly to the affected area and leave in. Re-apply MTG daily until all visible signs of skin problems are gone. Affected area does not need to be washed prior to reapplication. MTG is also effective when used weekly as preventative.
For Tail Growth: Apply MTG lightly to dry tail bone and leave in. Work residual MTG through tail. For maximum results, loosely braid and bag tail. Do not wrap tailbone. Re-apply MTG weekly.
For Mane Growth: Apply MTG sparingly along base of mane and leave in. Wipe off excess product on neck under mane. Re-apply MTG weekly.
For Mane & Tail Conditioning, Detangling and Burr Removal: Apply MTG lightly through mane and tail and work in well. Leave on overnight and wash out.

Surprisingly it works
I bought this stuff for my gelding because his mane was thin & chewed off when he arrived ):
I had boarded him for 3.5 months until our barn was finished & his mane grew 3.5 inches during that time! I read that average is .5 inches a month for horses. I applied MTG 1x/week because I read horror stories and my gelding has a beautiful, thick tail I didn't want to ruin, so I did that and after the dead-looking hair grew out I banged his tail and cut off about 1.5 inches of mane and it looks so healthy & I still apply it 1x/week & it's getting thicker!!! The downside is it's greasy for horses who roll every morning/day (I don't mind in winter), &, although it's not really a con, it smells like BBQ LOL! To me that smells pleasant but, I can understand how some people won't like that.

Grows hair and conditions tails and manes. Really does do everything it says it will. Even though the smell isn't exactly lovely, it works and a little goes a long way.

Impressive but Smelly
I bought this to aide my horse's tail progress as I might have accidentally cut off a third of his tail oops! I have seen a tremendous amount of growth from my other horse and a reasonable amount from the one who really needed it. BUT he came down with a fungus on his back legs (from the hocks down and the rear forearms) and it cleared up IN A DAY! I don't care if it smells like barbecued bacon fat I will keep using it! It has lasted me over a year. And believe me I have tried every anti-bacterial fungal treatment out there before I realized the secret was in my tack room all along!

Great Multi-Purpose Product
I always have MTG in my brush tote. I use it for anything skin related for my horses (think Windex from My Big Fat Greek Wedding). It takes care of tail rubbing, fungus, scratches, rain rot, girth sores .... and does a better job than any product I've ever tried on all of those problems. And it greatly speeds up the regrowth of hair. I really can't say enough about this stuff, it's great!
(I will say, it does smell pretty terrible, but to me it's totally worth having a healthy horse! And it comes off easily with soap and water.)

Great Stuff
This stuff works. I put it on all of my horse skin scrapes and the hair grows back right away. If my horse's tail is not quite thick enough are her dock, I just put on some MTG and hair grows there right away. It is great for treating fungus and rain rot. My only complaint is that you have to wear gloves and it kind of smells like moldy bacon (ewww!) Overall great product, would suggest it to anyone.

It works !!!
I've been using it for many years on a number of horses for skin, mane and tail problems. I was most grateful that it recently worked on a rescue that had severe scratches and we couldnt even touch his back legs, so this worked wonders because it stays where you put it , soon his scabs fell off the swelling went down and hair growth was visible in a couple of days after that ! I advise to put it in a spray bottle for easier use.... ;)

Caused Hives!
I tried to use this on my gelding's tail to add some fullness, but it made him break out in hives on his hindquarters. My trainer used it on her horse's mane and his neck broke out in hives too. I will never use it again!

Excellent for rain rot
My aged gelding developed severe rain rot this year for the first time. I tried several medicated shampoos and treatments, with no apparent improvement. I had never heard of MTG before but tried it after getting several recommendations, the condition improved visibly after the first few days, and was essentially cleared up in 2 weeks. The only drawback is that it made my horse look/feel really greasy and smell like a smoked ham (but I probably applied it much too liberally the first time).

multiple uses for this product
this product is useful fo both the treatment of skin problems as well as prevention of disorders such as scratches. I apply it to my horse's legs several time a week in wet or damp weather.
It also cleared up a dry scaling patch where hair had not grown for years. Prescription medications had not had any effect -with routine several time a week application, the dry scaling area resolves and hair quickly grows in

Use With Caution
This stuff works wonders on my QH mare's rain rot! Too bad I can't use it on her... Every time I put it on her legs to treat the rain rot there, they swell and get hot. By the second day they are super puffy and on day three she is always lame for two/three days. This has only ever happened when I've applied MTG and it took me a while to put two and two together. But I really do think that's the problem. I'm thinking she has some sort of allergy to it? Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Belongs in every tack closet
A trainer friend recommended this for scratches, brought on by an unusually humid summer, and it worked like a charm. Pick up a box of disposable latex gloves at the pharmacy before using this--you don't want this smell on your hands! Amazing product, though. It's also supposed to be great for tail growth. Turn upside down to shake well before using.

Rapid Hair Growth!
My boy has been suffering with a bad skin fungus this hot, Texas summer. It's finally under control with medicated shampoo, but he looked decidedly mangy with his patchy coat. One of the barn girls recommended this product to try and I've become a convert. The patches are filling in nicely and he doesn't seem to object to it being sprayed on his face (be careful not to get it in the eyes). It smells a bit like petrolated bacon grease, but this is a small price to pay for rapid hair growth!

I've used this for years. My horse has a long flowing tail that is course. MTG keeps is healthy looking, softer and growing continually. His mane is pretty, yet it doesn't grow long and flowing, just average when I forget to put on the MTG. It grows much better with a once week MTG application. It also alleviates "tail itch" from occasional dry skin.

Works quickly
Despite the HORRID smell of this product (smells like BBQ sauce gone VERY wrong) it is the fastest, best product I have ever used. I work with off-track Thoroughbreds and they are constantly getting some sort of fungus, dry skin, etc. and MTG gets rid of it in no time. I wash my horses legs with a medicated shampoo, apply the MTG and the next day her fungus is gone. Works GREAT on dew-poison and sun burnt skin.

A must have for every horse owner!!!
Every winter my QH gets bad rain rot and I have a lot of people fuss over him and worry until the see them a week after I put the MTG on! This past winter I was 100 miles away from my horse in college and only got to see him on weekends. I would put the MTG on him on saturday and come back the next weekend to find him totally rain rot free! I will never use anything else for my horses! I also use it on healed cuts where hair is trying to grow. It grows the hair back very quickly. It doesn't smell the greatest but it washes off well with dish soap!

Seems to be working...
I'd never used this product before, and I'm still using it to treat the condition, but it seems to be working well so far. I'm using it on an older gelding with skin problems, and they seem to be clearing up. Too soon to tell if hair is growing back in. The smell isn't pleasant, but it's not hideous - sort of a sulfur/rubber/BBQ sauce combination (and the smell washes off your hands easily).

I've had MTG in my grooming arsenal for years. While I admit it might have it's place, I find that it reeks, is greasy, oily, and alltogether too harsh for some horses. When I use it on mine, he'll react in a raised rash that's warm and tender to touch.
It will "slick" down a rubbed tail, giving it the illusion of getting better. However, this is still the only thing I've found that can effectively handle rain rot. I'll keep using it when I'm forced to-but I can't wait till I can replace this bottle in my kit with something new.

Stinks, but works
Just like everyone else says, it smells funny. The secret ingredient is probably scraped up from a BBQ pit, but it works. I used it on my mare's tail, after she rubbed it bald in a matter of days. I used a much nicer smelling product to try and alleviate the problem, but her itching didn't stop until I used MTG. She also had bald spots on her face complete with scabby stuff. It cleared that right up too. I put it on my colt's tail as well, as he was rubbing it. It stopped that. So it works, and its totally worth it.

haven't been disappointed in 30 years
have used MTG Oil forever! Excellent curative and preventative powers... scratches, dry mane and tail, rain rot... all kept under control with this simple product.. Weird smell is easily managed with cheap latex gloves ... use sparingly .... though I only have one horse... a bottle lasts a looooong time.

Stops the dandruff
My horse gets flaky skin on his tail and in his mane. MTG gets rid of the flakes and keeps his skin soft. No more rubbing with this product. It does smell funny so I'll wear gloves in the future.

Wonderful Shampoo for Skin Problems
I purchased a mini horse who had lice and decided to give this shampoo a try to relieve her itching. It did the trick and seemed to help soothe her irritated skin. I also used it on my German Shepherd who was working on a hot spot and it helped him as well. Easy to use, pleasant smell. Great product.

Very good buy!
I bought this product a couple weeks ago, and immediately started using it on my horse's leg fungus. I used it twice and the fungus had completely disappeared. The product smells funny, and it is greasy, but if you want a fast-acting, great product that this is the one to buy.

Easy Application/Wonderful Results

Great hair restorer
