Turn bottle upside down and shake vigorously.
For Skin Problems & Rubbing: Was out any prior treatment then apply MTG directly to the affected area and leave in. Re-apply MTG daily until all visible signs of skin problems are gone. Affected area does not need to be washed prior to reapplication. MTG is also effective when used weekly as preventative.
For Tail Growth: Apply MTG lightly to dry tail bone and leave in. Work residual MTG through tail. For maximum results, loosely braid and bag tail. Do not wrap tailbone. Re-apply MTG weekly.
For Mane Growth: Apply MTG sparingly along base of mane and leave in. Wipe off excess product on neck under mane. Re-apply MTG weekly.
For Mane & Tail Conditioning, Detangling and Burr Removal: Apply MTG lightly through mane and tail and work in well. Leave on overnight and wash out.
Do not use sprayer when apply. MTG does not need to be washed out between application.

Really works!
My sensitive-skinned chesnut mare gets scratches every spring and summer on her hind legs. This is the only product that has ever prevented the scratches. It also treated her dandruff on her tail within two applications. It is VERY greasy and does have a smoky smell (I would recommend latex gloves for application) but it WORKS!

Best Horse Product
My favorite horse product ever. Put it on the mane and tail to loosen dandruff; it's amazing how much stuff comes off. Even use it on sheaths to loosen smegma. Clears up any skin crud. Can't live without it.

Great product

Great Stuff
I must admit, at first I thought there was no way this was going to work. I purchased it because my newly acquired 25 year old Thoroughbred had his tail eaten to the tailbone. It was shorter than his hocks and caked with manure. It was January here in Upstate NY so I chose not to try to wash it. I put the MTG in once a week and even started using it on my other horse who already had a beautiful thick tail. I don't wear gloves but I do make sure to wash my hands when I get in the house. After 2 months the short tail has grown about 2 inches and is no longer caked with manure. The already thick tail has remained beautiful and looks amazing. I keep this stuff in stock and it's my new favorite tail conditioner. I can't wait for all of my friends to see how great my horses tails look this summer!

I'm a Believer
I have to admit, the old school packaging on Shapely's MTG and the wild claims of healing and hair growth make it seem like a bit of a "cure-all", but I am finally a believer! My horse had a seemingly incurable fungus patch on his back. It was so painful and sensitive that he would practically rear up on cross ties when I went to remove the scabs. I tried literally everything over the course of three months, from sprays and creams to even prescription medicated shampoo from the vet! While some of them seemed to hold the fungus at bay, it would flare up and be hot and scabby after a day without treatment. I finally decided to try MTG and after ONE DAY the scabs were gone, and after two days the hair was growing back shiny and healthy. Even with a day between treatments, the scabs have not returned. The drawbacks are the smell (campfire? smoked bacon? what is that?) and the nature of it being an oil means it attracts dirt if left uncovered. But after three months of struggling, to have the fungus gone in a day is totally worth it!

This stuff really works!!
I have 2 horses that seem to have chronic rain rot. I have tried several different medicated shampoos and also some stuff that I got from the vet, all were time consuming and you had to let it set then rinse out. MTG is really good, you just put it on and leave them alone! Really seems to have done the trick with just one application. Well worth it!!

Replace all other Skin products with MTG!
My horse was going through a rough patch (of skin that is!) Last Summer. He went bald in more then one spot, and it wouldn't heal. (On top of that I was supposed to show him in the Model Hunters at a big show and was freaking out.) Lots of QH people recommended MTG to be and I didn't believe the claims other users had made about its miraculous properties.
Well, I'm a believer now. Within 24 hours of first application I could see the hairs starting to grow back. By showtime it looked like nothing had happened. I've replaced every skin, anti-fungal product in my trunk with this 1 bottle.
It does smell like Hickory smoke, and is very very oily, so wear clothes you don't mind ruining and latex gloves.

Great for Horse's with thin Hair
Great for horses that need hair filled in because of bite marks or boo-boo's. Fills in the hair at least 2x faster than leaving the injury alone.

Works as Promised
This product was suggested to me to help my horse's tail growth, volume and shine. After I purchased it I found that it has a variety of uses; one of the best is with all types of mild to moderate external skin fungus. One to two applications wipes out the infection and promotes healthy skin and hair regrowth.
I absolutely recommend this product as a MUST have for any grooming kit, and a a horse person's must have.

Works well
Used MTG several times & it does appear to help with itches & helps strengthen the hair to prevent breakage. The bottle is way too small & expensive to use as often as I'd like though. Don't know what's in it, appears to be oil & sulfur, so no idea why it's so pricey?

My horses tail is so long
I started using MTG to grow out my horses tail. I wanted to be a little longer so, I started putting it on my horse's tail every week. I took his tail bag off and his tail was down to the ground!. It was so thick and and long that I am going to have to cut it up before show season starts. I would recommend wearing gloves. It smells like bacon and it is greasy. But it works so well. I also use it on blanket rubs and the hair grows back so fast.

Pretty Good Minus the Smell
Works for growing out tails. For some reason it works on my pony better than on my horse and I haven't seen either of them itching their tails out or any hairs on the ground or stuck to the fence. REALLY SMELLS LIKE BACON EVEN WHEN YOU WASH YOUR HANDS. I haven't had rain rot or any fungal infections yet so i'm not sure if it works at that. Overall pleased with my purchase.

I use this for treating scratches and rain rot. I have had really good results with this product. You do need to wear gloves if you don't want your hands to smell like sulfur.

I wouldn't use this stuff again!
My horse has had an extremely dry tail and behind this past winter. I had been treating it with MTG for the past month, as well as shampooing with a skin shampoo once a week. Not only does the product smell of bacon and bbq sauce...seriously it does....it left my horses tail feeling sticky. MTG did get my horse's dry skin to stop after about a week's worth of using the product. However, a few days after his tail and behind were flaky again! I know with changes of season and a thicker coat growing in, some dryness can occur. I wanted to help the problem without my horse smelling like bacon! I tried Cowboy Magic Crudbuster and it's done an amazing job moisturizing my horse's skin and tail. Best of all, it doesn't smell like bacon and is easily applied with a spray bottle. I wouldn't reccomend MTG to my other horse friends.

Not Overly Impressed
OK. I bought M-T-G based on other's reviews. I tried it for two different things: rain rot & sweet itch. My gelding has rain rot on his shoulder & it actually got worse after a week of using it. My Dad's gelding rubs his tail due to sweet itch. We tried it on him & it didn't stop the itching; he still rubs as bad as ever. I will say that the tail hairs started to grow & that his tail was nicely conditioned but, outside of that, we didn't see any improvement on either one. I agree--you need to wear gloves otherwise you'll have a lingering sulferish smell on your hands for a day or so. Great hair conditioner but our boys didn't get any relief.

Fungus KILLER! :)
My horse gets some type of fungus on the front of his hind leg every spring - fall. I have no idea what causes. We tried several products this year and nothing would get rid of it. It starts to kind of scurf on the leg. Within just a few days of MTG the fungus was gone! The vet says it will be back every year in all probability and I have a big bottle of MTG on hand ready for next spring. This stuff ROCKS! :)

My horse has summer allergies and proceeds to destroy his mane and tail every year scratching on anything he can find. M-T-G has worked well in controlling his "itchies" and he even has some tail growth. He also has sensitive skin but this product does not seem to cause any inflammatory reaction.

Very versatile product
This is a product everyone should have in their barn. It is the best thing to use on scratches. Also, I use if on my gelding who has a very thin mane and tail and it really helps with growth.

My mare has sweet itch. I put her on flax but she still itched and had bites on her belly. I knew about MTG but never used it. Then a friend has a horse with the same problem and swore by MTG. So I tried hers. Next day her bites were almost gone. Then I bought MTG from Smart pack-she is bite free.
There is something I would like to say about Smart Pack. I was buying supplements from different places. I checked what I was paying for shipping from everyone else.
So far almost everything comes from Smart Pack and I'm not going broke

Helped her tail grow!
After a summer of swishing at the bugs all day, my mare's tail was looking very sparse. It was never super thick to begin with, but had become way too thin. With gloves on (because of the smell and greasiness of MTG) I put it in her tail once a week. I did this for about 5 months and now my horse's tail looks better than it did before. I also put it on any scabs or rain rot to promote hair growth. Just remember to wear gloves otherwise your hands will be smelly and greasy!

Must Have!
MTG is one of those can't live withouts! From mane, tail and coat grooming to the pasture nicks, cuts, scrapes and bites, this is my cure all! we are now furazone free!

I bought this product to help keep my mare from losing hair on her girth and udder areas from insect bites that cause sweet itch. It hasn't worked any better than SWAT which is less expensive.

Great multi-purpose product!
My tack box is NEVER out of Shapely's MTG. Its a little smelly (sorta like burnt bacon grease?), but nothing works better. I put it in my horse's tail, and it grew several inches in only a few weeks. Makes combing it a breeze, and rehydrates a dry, sun-burnt tail right before your eyes! Also the best stuff ever for rain-rot. My gelding tends to get rain-rot or some type of dermatitis on his back legs, but as long as I rub this on his legs, it stays away.

works like magic
This stuff works so well on my Clydesdales scrches and also my jumping horses Greesey heal, I tell every one about it. without it I would be lost. Just rub it on once a week on any type of fungus on the body and in a few days you will see what a differants it makes. The cost is also a bonus!
