The Ovation® Moorland Tall Training Boot is a workman/women-like riding boot that can take you from chores to the saddle. A full grain oiled leather foot is paired with a grippy sueded upper that has an elastic gusset for superior fit, and the side zipper with hook-and-loop tab makes for easy on/off. Full waterproof breathable membrane and gusseted entry keeps the boot waterproof to 4 inches above the bottom of the zipper. A grippy outsole is sturdy and provides exceptional support on the ground or in the irons.

Why oh why don't you put a heavy duty quality zipper in these boots? The zipper blew out and now I am faced with having it replaced or buying a whole new pair. These boots aren't cheap, so why put a cheap zipper in them?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Colorado senior rider from Great boot, horrible zipper I absolutely love these boots, they are comfortable and warm BUT the zipper is horrible and broke after only one season of riding. It’s a shame that a quality riding boot is rendered useless by one feature. Ovation needs to replace this flimsy zipper with a heavy duty, high quality YKK zipper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CK1955 from Fix Zipper and they’d be great I have two pair of these boots. I can’t tell you how much I love the fit, look and value. BUT, the zipper is garbage. I bought a second pair hoping it was a fluke, but it’s not. I have had both zippers replaced, but finally went back to Ariat, then though I. Like the fit on this boot much better. Part of the problem is the design by the ankle. The waterproof liner there is too thick and puts pressure on the zipper. The other problem is cheap zippers.

Now that I have ridden in them a few times they really don’t support you like my Ariats. I think they stretched and now I am buying a summer pair of Ariats to replace and have a $200 pair of boots I won’t be wearing…

Rated 5 out of 5 by robd from Nice Boot I love these boots. I bought them to both ride in and do barn chores on those days when I don't have time to change into mucking boots. I have ridden in them, they don't slip out of the stirrup too easily because of the traction sole but were comfortable for riding. They fit snuggly around the calf and have plenty of room for heavy socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ellen from Great Boot! I have had these boots for a few weeks now. The fit is excellent! I had trouble finding a boot that fit as most brands do not make half sizes. This boot is sized 38, 8-8.5. The Smartpak Ada boot was either too small or too big. These fir well; I can even wear a warm winter sock and my orthodic inserts. The workmanship and materials are excellent! One caveat: I am only 5'2''; the boots are about a cm or two too tall but as I wear them and they are breaking on, the slight discomfort behind the knee is getting better. I ride dressage, but Western riders with a longer stirrup, probably would not have an issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rylee from Great boot but impossible to break in I bought these boots about 3 weeks ago and have been wearing them everyday at the barn. But I am still getting blisters from them I’m not sure if they just have an extra long break in time or if the ankle fit is so loose that it will never stop rubbing in that spot. Not to mention that I still can’t get my heels down properly in these boots compared to any other boot I ride in. They would be perfect if they fit around the ankle a little bit better and didn’t give me blisters.
