Rated 1 out of 5 by Meghan from Most painful boot ever I am a trainer and have to buy new boots every season. I am accustomed to having to break in new boots but these are the worst. The ankle is so painful, the design is terrible where the zipper goes right over your ankle bone. Even when I put layers of extra padding over my ankle it was so painful it hurt to walk and my ankle continued to hurt after taking them off. I thought I just needed to break them in like normal boots so I continued wearing them until after about a week part of my foot went numb because of the pressure over my ankle! So I gave up on these and my foot was still numb for at least a month after discontinuing wear! Definitely would NOT recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CTMom2 from Best Cold Weather Boot I've had my pair for 10 years. They are so warm that I only wear them when it is really cold, 20 degrees or colder. So there were some winters that were mild and they did not get worn. This year they got worn nearly every day. I still love them. Only problem is that they cracked where the toes bends In the stirrup. I've sealed it with plastic used to fill in snowboard cracks. Hope it lasts. Otherwise for the money they are worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dcla from Cozy and warm, but not as great as I wanted They are fine. The calves are really cozy with the fuzziness of an Ugg, but the foot part is quite cold. The zippers are not waterproof, so when I was hosing off my horse, the water went through the zipper onto my sock. The zipper has also gotten stuck on the ankle, so I cannot unzip one of them fully.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Smilla from Pretty, but clunky I have searched high and low for the right winter boot. Ordered these, the Vermont boot, and the Rimfrost. Kept these and returned the others, as I thought these would be warmest and most comfortable. I wore them riding today, and as another reviewer noted, I felt like I had ski boots on. The insulation is almost too much, because in the saddle, I couldn't feel my foot or how much my leg was on the horse; it was very awkward and ineffective. I dismounted and changed back into my old boots. I'm sorry these won't work out. I think I'm going to have to spend more money than I had planned and "pony up" for a pair of full leather boots.

I thought they would be stiff (they are when you walk around) but my first ride was a jump school and my leg was nice and tight on the horse and I had no trouble flexing my ankle. I have not tried them below 25 degrees but they were plenty warm for 25-35F. As for fit, the calf is pretty slim. The feet are not too bulky in the stirrups. The material on the leg portion grabs dirt so they look well used after the first trip to the barn - that would be my only criticism.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sandalwood from I’ve had two pair, but they don’t last I have purchased two pairs of these in the last 3 years and they are the best I can find out there. Easy to break in, true to size, and are quite warm, especially when paired with foot warmer packets. My only complaint is they do not last me a full winter. Keep in mind, I use them every day in all sorts of Michigan winter weather. I always break through the rubber where my foot flexes at the big joint. I’ve patched them and tried tape and glue. To no avail are they kept waterproof. I do LOVE the comfort and ride ability of them though! Just plan to buy a new paid each year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carol from My second pair The first pair lasted quite a few years. Keep my feet warm in the coldest days. Be sure to put inserts (or newspaper) inside to keep the shape to maximize the life of the boots, otherwise over time the surface will crack.
