Warm, feel like they'll hold up forever
I should confess I'm a big fan of Ariat boots as my old paddock boots are about 10 years old and hanging on. I got these to keep warm as my feet tend to freeze more than anything else - they're doing okay even in the 20s with a winter sock. I do agree the ankle looks a little clunky, and I will say I have very skinny calves, but I'm pleased with the fit and think it's true to the measurements provided by Ariat. One thing to be aware of is due to the lining they don't seem to be breaking in and dropping as much as is typical for a tall boot, so unfortunately they are biting me in the back of the knee some.

Not super impressed by these boots. First off if you buy them size up. I’m normally a 9 and did a 9.5 to add extra room for winter socks and at first try on there is not a lot of extra room (can’t speak for if they will loosen- I’ll be sending them back after trying them on) I’m 5’7/ 150lbs and a pretty normal medium/regular and these boots are tall like a new pair of tall boots to break in which I wasn’t expecting from winter boots. The calf is snug but the ankle is large and unattractive. Definitely not what I was expecting for the price. The quality is good but the fit is off.
