Perfect size for a large pony
These are the perfect size for my 14.1 paint pony - who is fairly stocky. They're a good width, too, but the leather is still pretty stiff a few months later, even after oiling and consistent use.

nice leather like the snap ends, a bit short
As mentioned in the other reviews these are a bit short for a big horse, but I have a racing neck strap with a ring at the chest to which I attach it to make it long enough. I couldn't find another longer pair with hooks and a decent price.

Nice draw reins
The reins are a good quality of leather but are short, they cannot be used as side reins.

Lifesaver
I bought this for my spooky warmblood who sees monsters in the corners. It kept him from throwing his head in the air and evading the bit which helped me to keep control. Since then we have weened off of them and the monsters went away- great tool if you need them. Nice leather. They can be a little long and get caught under your foot while riding- I put a little knot at the end to keep this from happening. Easy to put on and take off.

good quality
I would give these a five star for the price and quality only they came up a little short. Now, my horse does have a little bit of a longer neck so these may be perfect for your horse, but for me they get a tad uncomfortable for me. I have a girth with a clip so I clip them to the girth. They will be fine to the side, if thats what you intend. I still use them when I need though.

I bought these about a month ago, and I absolutely love them. They are really long though.

Long Reins
These are really really long. I don't use them really. 80% of the time there is slack and even then they are very long. When they are actually in contact, I have the buckle at my stirrup. Additionally, I really don't have them tight when there is a contact. They are just a little bit of slack and come into contact when the horse gets strong and throws the head or nonsense like that. I ride with them very generously. Most likely they are not meant to be on the breastplate but rather a D ring on the girth.

Nice draw reins
I have been using these draw reins for just a couple of weeks and they have already broken in quite nicely after I soaked them in Hydrophane. They are a good length for me as I clip them to rings on the sides of my girth.

Good purchase
I think the length on these is fine for me. I attach them to the breastplate (not the girth) and they are just a couple of inches longer than my reins when they are shortened up on my OTTB hunter. Good quality, nothing fancy or anything but they seem like they will last a long time (if they aren't stolen at the barn).

To long
The leather is very nice. I like these drew reins but are too long to use on my horse that I ride. She is 16.1hh.
