Nice reins
I bought these reins to replace a pair that came with my bridle I purchased over 10 years ago. The leather was stiff to begin with as expected, but after oiling, it has become very supple and easy to deal with. I was worried the reins would feel heavy since they are not the typical laced reins, but I really like riding with these reins and I think they help my keep my fingers closed up around the reins.

Super Grippy!
I got these reins for a jump bridle that came with plain leather reins for jumping and cross country. They are exactly what I wanted! Super grippy, nice quality, and the color perfectly matched the havana colored bridle.

great feel, wish they were longer
love the weight, grippiness, flexibility. exactly the feel I wanted.
Wish they were 4" longer.
Other reviews warned they were short. My horse is 15h and has a short neck, so I thought they would be fine. But I do wish for extra length, especially for free walk. These would NOT be good for a large warmblood, or a horse with a longer neck.

Great Extra stick
I need reins to make a new bridle and these look great with them. I was very please when I found how great the rubber reins didn't slip like others have when they get wet. Only negative was that the second piece is hard to keep in the keeper up by the bit.

at first the rubber reins felt heavy and uncomfortable. after a few rides they became so easy. when I go back to using the lightweight reins on my dressage bridle they feel flimsy. so I bought rubber reins (Harwich) in black for my dressage bridle.

Some nice things but.....
I got two pairs of these reins for Christmas. I have to say that I like the width of the reins - 5/8" is perfect. They are quite grippy which is really nice. However, the overall quality of the reins is not great. I am pretty conscientious about treating my tack well and these are not holding up at all. I clean them with a damp, clean sponge or with mild soap and they already look terrible. I don't think they will last another 6 months.

Love them!
These are my first set of rubber reins, and I love them! They look great and are very comfortable and broke in very quickly. I have had them for about 4 months and use them frequently.

Good grip
Have been using these reins for almost a month. They work so much better than my leather reins. I had difficulty keeping my grip on the leather reins. These reins work very well and I like the width.

Well made and very grippy, almost feel like velcro, but softer. They are a bit heavy, weight-wise, but not overly so. I was riding with laced reins before I replaced them with these. The leather softened after a few rides and they have a nice drape.

Was a little hesitant because of the cheap price, thought it would mean cheap quality but after many friends telling me to try them, I'm so glad I did. These reins are great and exactly what I was looking for! Great reins for a great price! I highly recommend them!

Love these reins
These reins make a huge difference. The rubber provides such a good grip on the reins thus allowing me to give my mare the steady contact and support she needs as she finds her balance. They are very good quality for the price and I know they will last many years.

These are my favorite reins!
These reins are great! I purchased some a couple years ago for my dressage bridle, and recently replaced every pair of reins I had on my bridles with these. They are very comfortable, grippy and a good length. My other rubber reins I used cross country slipped sometimes, and when I moved up the levels I started to feel uncomfortable so i switched to these and they are spectacular and I feel very safe!

Great reins for the price
I just needed some everyday rubber reins to replace my worn ones, and these exceeded my expectations! They're well made, nice looking, and grippy, which is the most important thing to me. I'm likely going to buy another pair for my jumping bridle.

These were some of the least expensive rubber reins I could find and since they were from Smartpak I figured they would be decent quality... and they are! I only just started using them so I can't comment on durability but the rubber is nice and thick like I'd hoped for, while still pliable, and the leather part is raised. Nice looking. Very pleased.

Love these rubber reins
Very pleased with the quality of these Harwich rubber reins. They have definitely exceeded my expectations for reins at this price point. They are just the right thickness, not bulky at all, very soft and flexible while providing excellent grip. Stitching, hardware and craftsmanship are all great. I expect they will hold up well for many years. Perfect length for my 16.2 hand thoroughbred.

Lovely! Especially for a rubber rein.
Rubber reins aren't known for being elegant or fancy enough for dressage work, but the raised leather makes it stand out nicely. Great price for these reins too. They're very durable and after only 2 rides, I'm completely sold it was the right decision for my dressage wardrobe (as a 3-day eventer).
