Not great leather
Leather doesn’t take up oil well, and is very stiff. Very disappointed with theses reins. They are the kind of leather one would expect from a bridle with reins in the $40-$60 price range.

Not good...at all!
I have had these reins for 2 years now and they are just not good quality! The leather is not soft even after several oils. They are so stiff that they look twisted so I can't even show in them. I do no recommend these to anyone! Sorry!

Pretty reins
I bought these reins to replace a pair that came unlaced. While these are so pretty and take up oil fairly well to soften them, the lacing and the reins appear to be made from two very different kinds of leather. Not sure how the lacing on these will hold up, as it is quite thin and delicate-looking. Hopefully they’ll be more durable than they look.

Great Reins!
I bought these a few weeks ago after a friends horse destroyed my old reins. I was skeptical when buying these, as there were some negative reviews. But, these are amazing and I definitely do not regret buying them! They’re really fancy and after a few oilings, nice and supple as well! Highly recommend!

Not impressed
I bought the pony reins in 2018 to replace my horse length Harwich reins from a bridle I bought in 2015 (horse has a short neck). I couldn't be happier with the 2015 Harwich purchase as it's still going strong and the leather is soft and supple. The 2018 reins though, they have yet to reach nearly the same softness of my 2015 reins even though they have been oiled multiple times, conditioned, and used at least 4x per week. The laced part of the reins are much more pliable then when they were new but the raised part that attaches to the bit are just as stiff as the day I received the reins. They have held up and work as intended. The stitching is nice and have also held up. My only wish is that the leather was more supple.

Not worth the price
Not a huge fan of the leather, which was surprising because I've bought other Harwich brand products and the leather was much more supple. When they arrived they were super stiff (expected) and after putting half a can of Hydrophane oil on them they loosened up, but the quality of the leather is just poor...so they aren't great. The lacing is very loose too (Like I can almost stick a pencil between the rein and the lacing), so I can see the lacing breaking and coming undone in the near future. I recently bought a pair of lovely leather reins made in England at my local tack store for the same price and they are LIGHT YEARS better than these....so I can't say I recommend these....

Great product reasonable price
I bought these reins for my daughter's new lease. The mare has a long and low way of going and she needed extra long reins. These reins are great quality for a very reasonable price.

Perfect for schooling
I've had these reins for about a month. They quality of the front side is fantastic but the underside is rough, unfinished and a much lighter color. I've used them a few times and the color darkens slightly as you oil and clean them. But I wouldn't use them in the show ring.
