Comfortable but not well made
I bough these because they were on sale and thought they would be a good cheaper alternative to my Romfh sarafina breeches. I love the material and the fit, however after only two wash’s the stitching is coming un done, and the logos on the inside leg of the full seat are already rubbed out looking like I have worn them for months. I’m not too upset as I got them on sale, but I would be if I spent the full price just to have them start to look dingy after two rides. For a reference I only ride one horse and do not do any barn chores in them. I still think there are an ok breech. But I wouldn’t pay 120$ for them. I love you forever smartpak Definitely not a fair price for the value of the product.

I bought these breeches hoping to get a pair that actually fit that aren’t tailored sportsman’s. I have such a hard time finding breeches because I am tall with a thin waist, but larger hips and thighs. Most breeches, including the original pipers, fit me well in the legs, but are HUGE in the waist (like seriously, I could fit two of me in the waist). I bought these holding my breath and hoping the size chart was true to the pants, and when I put them on, it was love at first wear. The material is so soft and relatively thin, but incredibly flattering and doesn’t show everything. they hold their shape and I’ve noticed don’t get super dirty, so they wash easy. I can’t say enough good things about these pants and I will be exclusively buying these from now on. The one thing I will say I’m not thrilled about is the price point (doable when on sale), and they could maybe add one or two more belt loops if I’m being SUPER picky!

Perfect Fit for Adult Women
I've worn these breeches several times now and continue to be impressed with how well they fit and how cool they are in the hot, humid Mississippi summer weather.
These have different proportions than the mid-rise full-seat Pipers; these are fuller through the thighs and backside, but narrower through the waist, which is perfect for me. As an adult woman with a curvy build, I appreciate not having to shimmy and shake to squeeze myself into breeches that are too tight through the thighs and too big through the waist, as so many other breeches are. I have large calves as well, and these are very comfortable for my legs, and even have enough room through the knee. I've gotten several compliments on how great they look!
The fabric has enough stretch that I can get knee-high socks out from underneath them without stretching out the socks or the breeches, but the fabric is also supportive enough that they're comfortable for a 12-hour day teaching lessons. I'm very impressed with the sweat-wicking capabilities of the fabric. Despite sweating profusely in them all day, they are dry and cool to the touch (aside from the obvious places, like the waistband and pockets, which are made of a different fabric). Bonus, the fabric brushes off easily and sheds water, so I look relatively clean and professional all day.
A few notes:
--The front pockets actually stay down, but are significantly smaller than my Pipers' pockets. The back pockets are big enough to hold my phone, and have zippers!
--I haven't noticed the pilling or rubbing that other folks have, even though I've worn them about 8 times now and am very hard on my breeches.
--Check the inseam length before purchase. I'm 5' tall, so the 26" inseam is perfect for my short, stubby legs, and they hit me just below the ankle.
--I bought the charcoal with the black full seat. It's a beautiful color and does have purple undertones to it; it's still definitely in the dark gray/charcoal family, but skews towards that part of the color's spectrum. If you're particular about your grays/charcoals, now you know exactly where it fits.
If you're like me and like your Pipers but want a more "mature" fit, these are the breeches for you! They're classy, comfortable, and totally worth the slightly higher price tag. I love them and will definitely be buying more!

Great Breeches!
Now I have 3 pair of these wonderful breeches. They fit great and wash beautifully. BUT I have also returned 2 pair because they fit totally wrong, whereas the other pairs fit great. Thank goodness for free shipping both ways, but where is the product quality oversight SmartPak?

I bought these to wear at a show recently. The fit was good and the fabric is not see through like some whites. I really hate the back pockets though :( they bunch up and look horrible. I am going to try cutting them out hopefully that helps :/

Seem Like Nice Breeches
I sized down on these breeches because everyone said they ran large, and I gotta tell you, I don’t think a size UP from my regular size would have fit me comfortably. Thank goodness for SmartPak’s return policy, cuz I for sure can’t wear these.

Love these breeches but no consistency with sizing
I had 4 pairs of these breeches and they are amongst my favorite because they fit great and wear nicely. I didnt hesitate to buy a fifth pair when the time came. I wore it the first day and noticed that the cut was very different from my other pairs. It was huge and the fabric was gaping in the rear. I thought maybe it just needed to be washed but after 2 washes it’s still an issue. Smartpak CONSISTENTLY has problems with its own line of apparel. I had the same thing with a pair of pipers a few years back and it’s the reason I’m afraid to buy the silicone version of these. Really disappointed I used to love these breeches. Smartpak you’re too big of a brand to be having these issues!

I bought these in navy and love the fit. I love the material and the rise. Yes, the leg was a bit short, but I'll order the long. PLEASE make a tan breech. I would dump every show breech I own if you make a tan in the full seat Hadley 4 stars,because I can't show in them

Great rise, nice stretch
I bought these originally by following the size chart and ordering to my measurements, a 34R. However, they were definitely too big and I exchanged for a 32R. They gap slightly at the waist when bending over, but I like to wear a belt anyway and they fit well through the hip and leg. I LOVE the rise. As someone with a long torso and short leg, these hit me at a true mid-rise. The Pipers were way too low and gave me a muffin top and made me feel like I had to pull them up all the time. This rise hits me above the hip but not so high that I have that lower-belly bulge. I like the length as I have a shorter leg, its great to not have bunchy ankles! After walking around the barn a bit I'm wondering if I should've sized down even further, as I found the stretch made me want to pull them up occasionally, but I like a slightly looser fit so hopefully they don't stretch out. The fabric is a lighter weight than I anticipated given the price, but I'm hopeful that it's quality because its a great spring/fall weight. I'm a little unsure of the back pockets, as I'm not used to them and could feel the lining when I was first walking around, but by the end of the day I forgot they were there. I took them for a first ride yesterday when the arena was unavailable and my only option was the first outdoor spring ride on my OTTB... I have to say I loved the grip and the stretchy seat! I felt I could sit deeply and it was grippy when I needed it. Overall I'm happy, and I'm tempted to buy another pair, but I'm going to test these a little more to make sure they're as good as I think they are!

So. Small.
So. Small. I ordered the 32L just to give myself a little wiggle room, and I couldn't even get them buttoned. My friends all had the same problem, too. I knew better than to stray from the pipers.

Finally!! A white breech that isn’t totally see through! I have ordered and returned so many white breeches looking for one that I wouldn’t have to wear something underneath, as that’s just too hot for summers here. This one has finally delivered, they’re not prefect, the back pockets look a bit strange on the white but the full seat is stretchy and comfortable and they are not see through so I am totally won over! They ran a bit small in my opinion, I am 5’11 and usually wear 28L in pipers so that’s what I ordered but had to return for the 30L. I LOVE smart paks free returns, it makes them my first choice when looking for something new that I’m unsure of size/fit.

Love These!
Follow-up on breeches. Had to return for a smaller size- the 28R fit just fine and I do love these so comfortable. Would have given 5 stars except for the size discrepancy .
They run big-not true to size- had to size down 3 sizes-- Love Smartpaks return policy- quick and easy!!

Initially Amazing But...
I purchased mine at an amazing price during the recent sale, as they are typically at a price point higher than my breeches budget, and was very excited to try them. I really like the fit and feel of these breeches. They are extremely comfortable full seats and move with me without sagging in the crotch. I liked them so much I got rid of most of my Pipers. They seem to fit similarly, but don't need to be sized with the consideration of stretching out after wear. I do have some issue with how the material wears. As another reviewer noted, they seem to pill and fray pretty quickly. In less than two months of gentle wear two pairs have fraying on areas under my boots; nowhere that should be roughed up by anything. If I had purchased them at full price I would most surely be returning them, however for the price I paid and how much I like the fit I will deal with it. Perhaps there is a difference in the material on the older sales ones vs the new-season pairs. I have used Crossovers for years, which are made of similar materials. Those, while being a less comfortable fit, have never gotten any roughening to the material after countless washes. I'm torn as I really like these, but to ay retail I would have to be convinced of major improvement to long-term (or in this case, even short-term) wear.

I love my Hadley full seats! Great material, comfortable, fun colors, good size pockets and a stellar price! The Perfect Plum color is much more purple than the website and catalog show but the other colors are lovely. Definitely my new favorites!

Love these breeches!
These are the only true full seat breeches I like (except for the $$$ German brands) and that truly fit me. Pipers are a total no-go for me, which is disappointing because I love all the fun colors, but these are perfect. SmartPak, please come out with some more great colors soon - I own all of the current ones already!

Color in ad misleading
I love Hadley breeches- I’m on the shorter side and these are the only pair of breeches I own that I don’t have to scrunch up! Was very excited to get the plum perfect/nine iron color because in the ad it appreared to be a ‘rust’ color that has been very popular. Upon receiving it I was disappointed that it is quite purple and not the ‘rust’ color I thought it would be. I’m not going to return it since it’s still a great pair of breeches but I feel a bit mislead and am disappointed.

Oddly tiny
I have alot of Smartpak breeches, from show to schooling midrise and low rise, fullseat and knee patch. I always buy a 28 or 30 and they always fit easily and comfortably these were dramatically small I couldn't even get them hooked and they were even short which is odd because I have a 28 inch inseam which is freakishly short so everything is long on me. The breech is very nice but the sizing is very wrong these fit like a 26 and they were a 30.

Runs small :(
I have a pair of Pipers and wanted to give Hadley a try. The pipers are a little big in 26R and per the responses to the Q&A stating that they run similar to Piper and true to fit, I thought I would try a 24R. Sadly, I could not even get them on. Very disappointed. The material felt great and I love the color. Was going to exchange them and try a 28R, but I see they are no longer available in this color. Was hoping these would be the answer since the Pipers gape so horribly at the waist and they literally come unhooked during every ride. It seems most breeches are made for very little butt/thigh sizes (and I'm not a super curvy lady either .. I'd say average at 5'4 and 112). These breeches definitely run very small.

High-end, durable, and all day comfort
Love these breeches - I just bought my 4th pair. They are very similiar to ROMFH breeches but fit me better. I am straight up and down with no curves and the 22's fit me better than any other adult sized breeches. I do wish they would consider making low rise, but until then - these are literally the only breeches I will wear. I worse them all summer as a working student in south Alabama and never had that stick to my legs uncomfortable-hot feeling that you get with some. I highly recommend these and am always on the hunt for new colors (*hint *hint).

Love these!!!
I bought a pair on sale at WEG, because I love my Pipers but have always wanted to try the Hadleys. The fit really works for me--Pipers gap at the waist on me and I have to wear a belt or they slide down. The Hadleys are cut a little differently, so I can wear the same size but they just fit me a lot better. If you've got bigger thighs and a small waist they are for you! I love the fabric, nothing sticks to it, and I love the back pockets too. They do run short, I'm only 5'5" and I prefer the longs, so probably not for someone tall or leggy!

Great fit!
I have had a hard time finding reasonably priced riding pants that fit well. These are wonderful. Not too high and not too low on the waist. Only bad thing is that sometimes the zipper falls a little.

Great fit, but short
Great fit, but on the short side. I’m only 5’5” and they barely come to the top of my paddock boots. U dear tall boots who cares. The fabric is comfortable. I thought it would be heavy, but I don’t notice it in the Florida sun. Held up in the wash.

Well Fitting Breeches
These breeches are extremely comfortable and truly do stretch 4 ways. Fit is
excellent and my only complaint is the smell from in the fabric. It's a strong rubber
like smell. I haven't washed yet but feel that might solve the problem. Would still
highly recommend anyway.
