The perfect winter riding boot
These boots are exactly what you want in a winter riding boot. I previously owned the Ariat Bromont insulated boots and they were warm but I always wished they had a bit more in the sole for insulation. The Coniston Pros address this and more. I actually had to lower my stirrups a hole because of the thick insulation in the sole of the boot, they are generously insulated the whole way up, and the zipper starts pretty high up so your feet stay dry while trudging through mud. I rode 3 horses then played outside with my dog for hours in a very wet/dense snow and my feet and lower leg stayed warm and dry.
And forget functionality - these boots are GORGEOUS. The quality is outstanding for a winter boot where you more typically see cheaper synthetic looking materials. I love that they come with both elastic and traditional laces so I can either get the easier adjustability or something that's more permanent and a tighter fit. No issues with the boot tops sliding down as I ride, and the laces give you a nice snug fit the whole way up. Ariat sends these with the boot forms to support the calf shape over time.
10/10 and worth every penny. I really don't think I would change anything about these.

on my wish list for over a year
well, they were on sale!! and with Smartpaks free returns, of course I chose my usual size 9.5.I wasn't disappointed. besides perfect fit, they're gorgeous. just had a knee replacement, so I haven't used them yet!, but Ariat is reliable as well as Smartpak, so I'm sure any problem will be taken care of..can't wait to ride in them!!

Cheap looking for the price
Couldn’t wait to get these boots, but once again Ariat has disappointed me. On the website these boots are beautiful. In person, well, let’s just say that I’d be way more comfortable paying $150 for them. They look cheap. No other way to say it. At a price tags of over $300 , they were a massive disappointment. These boots don’t look like leather, but look more like vegan leather. They have that weird sheen to them that screams “I’m not real leather”. Also, for you shorter ladies. I’m 5’1” and these would need to drop some to become comfortable. I am also slim and i will say that the laces do allow you to make the boots nice and slim on the leg. I would’ve kept them if the price tag had reflected the boot better. I’d rather pony up more $ for a higher quality boot.
Ariat used to have great quality, well made boots. I’ve used both their western and hunt boots for over 20 yrs. but recently I stopped buying their western boots because they have become so narrow it’s unreal. I found that you have to see where they are made. The ones made in Mexico run true to size and are a higher quality. The ones made elsewhere are complete trash.
I didn’t wear them more than a few minutes in the house before I decided to return them. Ended up with a cheap pair of winter ovations which will work fine for the price.

I absolutely love these boots. I started working and riding in them 8 hours a day straight out of the box. Ankle was a little tight at first but add a little mink oil to them and the leather will loosen up nicely. Ariat, please make these in a summer version!

An absolutely gorgeous boot
Oh, these are really some nice boots; I loved them the second I felt them in my hands. Alas, unless I got a mismarked box (because for whatever reason, I did not look at the boot itself) the sizing was way off. I have two other pairs of Ariat boots, both size 7 - fitting perfectly. This being a winter boots and to allow room for some heavier socks, I ordered a size 7.5. Way too small - aarrrrrggggghhh, like crunching my toes and half the foot small. I was so sure that a 7.5 would fit that I threw my other winter boots already away. Yikes, now I am stting here without winter boots because size 8 is no longer available. But these boots thelselves are awesome!

FIRST OFF I WANT TO SAY THAT THESE BOOTS ARE EVERYTHING THAT I EXPECTED WITH ONE EXCEPTION. THE COLOR OF THE BOOTS THAT I RECEIVED ARE NOT THE SAME COLOR AS IN ALL THE PICTURES. WITH THAT SAID, I LOVE THESE BOOTS. THEY COME WITH ELASTIC LACES AND A ZIPPER SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UNTIE THEM EVERY TIME YOU PUT THEM ON/OFF. ANOTHER AMAZING VALUE ADD THAT THESE BOOTS HAVE IS A FINGER PULL TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE ZIPPER SO IT'S EASIER TO GET YOUR FOOT INTO THE BOOT. OVERALL I'M SUPER HAPPY WITH THE BOOTS AND THE COMFORT. I JUST WISH THEY WERE THE COLOR THAT WAS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM 5*'S INSTEAD OF 4*'S.

Too high?
I bought these to get back into the sport after being out 20+ yrs. I love the way they look and they are really comfy in the foodbed (my foot in generally on the wider side). However, they're a little tall for me and jab in the back of my knee. Does anyone know if these tend to soften or drop quite a bit? If I start wearing them to break them in I won't be able to return them.

Great winter riding boots
Bought these for the barn, thinking maybe they'd work in the saddle too. To my surprise they felt super comfortable from the moment I put the boots on, and proceeded to spend a whole day in them both doing barn work and riding several horses! Super comfy footbed and plenty warm enough for a winter day at the barn.

Nice stylish boot
Super comfortable and extremely adjustable, right out of the box able to wear and no issues with sore feet. They are pretty warm as well, if you combine this with a merino wool sock you're feet will be sweating in the winter :) The sole is heavy, yes for those muddy days, but you'll get used to that, driving car, or riding horse, or even lots of walking, no issues so far.

Best Boots Ever!
I bought these just as cold weather here in CO hit. My friend had a pair and raved about them, but I was hesitant as I have rather large calves and have had problems in the past fitting into long boots. But I figured if they did not fit, I would just send them back. Well, with the lacing plus the zipper, I can honestly say they fit nicely (and do not look like stuffed sausages), and are so comfortable, I could wear them all day out of the box with no issues! Well worth the price so far. I love being able to go from running errands in town, to going for a ride, doing barn chores, without having to change shoes 3 times. I highly recommend!

Small Calf Sizing
I had ordered this boot as a new riding boot in the winter. The overall quality of materials and styling was nice. However....the calf sizes are VERY small. I had measured my calves ahead of time, and choose a size/width that was supposed to fit (7/7.5). It says that the laces give you some additional width, but even with the laces very loose I was unable to zip the boots over my calves; it didn't seem to make as much difference to the width as was insinuated. They do offer larger calf sizes, but I would have had to choose a shoe size way too large for me. I ended up sending the boots back without riding in them, which was disappointing as the quality of the product looked very good. I wish Ariat made these with a wider-calf option. If you have smaller calves these would likely work for you, but if you need a "wider" calf fit I would look elsewhere...

Get them before they sell out
Wore them to the barn right out of the box. Fourteen degrees out and windy, three to four inches of mud in the pastures and pools of water just as deep. They are waterproof to the top of the foot or higher, good on snow and ice, great for mucking out, and good for riding. Easy to clean too. I did not find them too wide for my irons. Best of all, I’m 5’1” and these came right up to the back of my knee. No drop necessary. If your lower leg is at least 16” tall, these should work for you. With laces cinched as tight as possible, they fit my 12.5” calf with room for a heavy wool sock and insulated breeches. I bought my usual boot size.
My trainer recognized them immediately - she bought a pair a month ago. Everyone else asks me where I got them. I’m sure they’ll get oohed and aahed when I wear them away from the barn.
Buy them. Odds are you won’t regret it.

Super warm and comfortable!
I have worn and ridden in these a dozen times—they’re warm, super comfortable -love that Ariat footbed- and fit my regular height, full calf leg fine. They clean up great with a quick wipe down with a wet towel. Super cute, too!

Not waterproof
These boots are so stylish, I didn’t mind the price. I didn’t even mind the slick soles or the fact that the zipper bites. One slipped foot in the creek, though, and my foot was soaked. I’m so upset that I didn’t test the “waterproof leather” when I could still return them. Ariat is known as such a good brand, I assumed I was getting what I paid for. These boots are only a few months old, and I’ve only worn them a few times. I wanted to work in these beautiful boots for years to come. Too bad I’m finding out too late that they’re useless to me.

Beautiful boot when new BUT they don’t last
I bought mine just under two years ago and they now leak and are cracked and are falling apart. This is the second pair that haven’t made it to two years. I love then but they are best for people who don’t go near mud or ride !!

Love this boot!!
These boots are so gorgeous! I get compliments on them whenever I wear them. Honestly, they’re so beautiful I don’t wear them to the barn; I wear them as a causal boot. They are so comfortable and warm I practically live in them all winter. I would love to get another pair for the barn.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOT
I've had these boots for over a year, and I just can't say enough wonderful things about them. I live in the PNW where I'm forever trekking in the mud, and they have never let me down. I can hose them off, give a quick rub down, and they look amazing again. Never had an issue with the waterproofing. I even use them as snow boots when I visit family in Boston, and I've been in snow almost up to my knees and they keep me nice and dry. They fit great, are so comfy. I go from pasture (quick hose down) to saddle, then sometimes out to dinner in them, could seriously wear them all day. And it looks like they're on sale right now, so get yourself a pair!

Great boots, well made function meets style.
I've had these boots for a while now and I actually wear them more for daily use than in the barn because they're so stylish! They're comfortable straight out of the box and incredibly warm! Honestly sometimes I have to be careful which socks I use so that I don't get sweaty feet because they're so warm. I admit I was super hesitant about spending that much money on a pair of boots. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to buying things for myself. I do not regret it for one second!

Quality boot
I have owned these boots for 2 years and wish I had purchased a second pair, although I have not worn out the first.They fit just like my other ariat brand shoes. They are warm and keep my feet dry.Perfect for long hours of teaching in the cold. I love that they can be expanded to fit over winter and soft shell /lined winter breaches. I like having the pull tab to help keep the back of the boot from breaking down when you pull them on and off.I had another brand of lace up boots prior to these with no pull tab, and the back of the boot heel area broke down from being stepped into.

A VERY nice looking boot but...
I am an AVID Ariat consumer. I use several forms of their boots, so when I buy a boot from them, I am confident it will fit exactly as all the others. Here’s what I’d do with a boot of this price point: ***MORE sizing options, especially calf height!!!***. I was disappointed in the calf height of this tall boot. I am a regular thru and thru, but the top of this boot is so low, I feel it will cause issue in the saddle. Second, and I am not sure this will be everyone’s case: I was very surprised that the 8 was tight on my foot. I had a normal sock on, not winter. I have suspicion that in my case, my foot would get cold due to the tightness. Third: Laces—for my slim-regular calf size, I was cranking those laces up really as tight as I could. There was string everywhere. This is one well made, very pretty boot. I don’t want to give it a bad review, just let consumers know that as a constant wearer of an 8 regular or 8 slim, this boot is a little different. This boot is EXPENSIVE by anyone’s estimation, so I expect more.
