Product Overview

Safe, simple & affordable fly prevention

Solitude IGR is an effective, safe, simple, and economical feed-through fly prevention that prevents house and stable fly development. Cyromazine, the active ingredient of Solitude IGR, safely passes through the horse's system and is excreted in the manure, regulating house and stable fly egg development. Solitude IGR is effective only against immature house and stable flies. As existing adult flies die off, overall fly population is significantly reduced within 4 to 6 weeks. Create a healthier environment for your horse. Cost-effective and easy to use; just add 1/2 oz into your horse’s daily feed regardless of your horse’s breed or size.

Solitude IGR is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was hoping it would help..... Not sure I’m seeing a difference in fly reduction. It’s our first summer having our own barn, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but seeing plenty of flies. : /

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solitude IGR I have tried many systemic feed through products in the past and I must say that solitude IGR is without any doubt...hands down...a truly superior product. No flies...no fly predators..very minimal fly spray use. Wouldn't be without it. A bit pricey but worth every penny spent. I love this product. Kitty

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this for the fly season and it has done very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last year, we moved our horses to our first family farm, so we started them on Solitude since it was the first time I had control over my own "herd", of 4 horses. I was coming from a nearby boarding barn where the fly problem was just absolutely horrific. Even though our horses were started on this late (in June), we had very few flies! So it definitely works, no question. I noticed, looking at the manure pile, that flies were still breeding in the manure somewhat, so it didn't stop them 100%, but I hung a Big Bag fly trap by the manure pile and it seemed to catch most of them before they could make it back to the barn. No problems getting the horses to eat this. Will be buying again for this season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product This is the second summer I have used solitude for fly control. My horses readily eat the pellets and it does decrease flies. I like that all horses receive the same dose - no worrying about how much the horse weighs or if you might have fed the wrong amount.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from First time user of this product. I just started using this to see if it helps my horses this summer.
Date published: 2017-04-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use! We are on our second bucket and I DO see an improvement in the barn and paddock - fewer flies! Yay!
Date published: 2016-09-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consistently Works! I have used this product for at least 8 years and didn't use it last year. I never have a fly problem and last year was terrible. Started in March this year and no fly problem again.
Date published: 2016-08-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dramatically reduced the fly population! My horses have been on Solitude for 2 months now and I have seen a dramatic reduction in the amount of flies on my horses. I use this in conjunction with fly predators and the horses and barn are almost fly free. I was using a bottle of fly spray on the "crew" about every week and now I rarely use fly spray. Great product!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Title could use a jazzier name We bought it about a month ago, We figured that well, we tried everything else out with little or no results. But it only took about 10 days and what a difference weather they are in the barn or in the field. Fly masks help a little but add this stuff along with it and WOW!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more Summer Sores! I live in Florida where the flies play havoc on my horse. My poor Mac was suffering terribly from summer sores caused by poor fly control at a boarding facility he was at for six months. The flies larvae were basically eating him from the inside out. They had even eaten about a 1/4 inch of his urethra off. In the short time he was boarded there, I paid approx. $4,000 in six months - giving my vet the down payment for her new truck (LOL). Having had enough of seeing my poor boy suffer, I moved to a private location and began feeding Solitude IGR. I cannot believe the difference in both my horse's health and in the lack of flies around the barn and, especially, on the poop piles!!! We have NO flies now!!! This product is absolutely AMAZING!!! I cannot say enough good things! I will always use this product for all my horses!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I switched For years we had always used Simplifly with decent success, but for whatever reason, the flies this summer were horrendous even though everyone was still getting their Simplifly. So I decided to switch to Solitude to try it out. It's been about 2 weeks now and already I've noticed a significant drop in flies. No more loud buzzing when you walk into a horse's stall! It's more expensive but you only have to feed 1/2 oz instead of 1 oz like with most products. All horses have no problems eating it either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flies be gone! The owner of the farm at which I board my ponies told all the boarders they must have their horses fed IGR daily. Within a month, I saw a marked improvement in the amount of flies on the farm! They have gotten to the point that I rarely use fly spray! What a great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work Been using about a month and I would say the flies are less than last year. If only it worked on GreenHeart, they are horrible right now
Date published: 2016-07-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product seems to be helping with the flies! The number I see buzzing around his legs so far this summer have reduced significantly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working this year! I used this product last year. I started out using Simplifly until about July of last year then switched over to Solitude. I had great results. This year, I started out with Simplifly again due to Solitude being sold out. I had no flies while I fed Simplifly. When I started Solitude, I noticed an increase in flies. So, I increased the dosage. No effect. I am now over-run with flies and my horses are getting a double dose of Solitude. I just re-ordered Simplifly. I will not be using this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really does work! I have been using solitude for about 6 weeks. I started a little late, in early April. We have been having a very warm and rainy spring which normally would bring a huge fly population to torment my horses. there are very few flies! I have a neighbor who is very close and I do not believe she uses this, but it still had a great impact.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great non-toxic addition to fly control programs Non-toxic, palatable, cost-effective, easily dosed
Date published: 2016-04-25
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good. Bought this a little over a month ago, although it hasn't been so hot yet. But they seem to be reducing our fly population. But a bit more pricey than its competitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far Seems Good I will have to visit this review once we are in the height of summer. However as of right now, my six horses have been on this a month. It seems to be working. We are seeing flies but not many adult flies. The IGR works to prevent flies from forming an exoskeleton thus preventing them from surviving into adulthood. We see lots of baby flies but that is it. I was worried at first but when I went to the website this is the way it works. I do not know the true affect it is having for us since we do not have a lot of flies anywhere in the valley yet. Once we are in full swing fly season I will update my review. Horses ate it up just fine too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solitude IGR I have used many different feed through fly products over the years and this is the BEST. Bar none.I use this product in conjunction with fly predators and voila No Flys. It is a great product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works as part of a program I have a single horse kept at home. I have been working on perfecting my fly management program. There are several other horse homes in the neighborhood and I could not tell you if they implement any sort of fly control program. This product helped immensely. Last year used a combination of the the physical hanging traps and fly predators and still had a decent size fly population. The addition of Solitude IGR got rid of every single fly. I do notice a few flys toward the end of my predator cycle, but after a re-spread of those not a single fly can be found. The horse had no problem eating this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Palatable I had been using the Smart Pak version, and my horse grudgingly ate it last year, but would not touch it this year. I had luck with it, so I decided to try something else. The molasses makes a huge difference. The flies have all but disappeared around him and on him. Very good product that my horse will eat!
Date published: 2015-06-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sadly not seeing results. I was desperate in trying to find something that reduces the fly population. Not seeing a decrease in the fly population. At least my horse is eating it.
Date published: 2015-06-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reduces Flies Immediately! We were surprised to see an immediate reduction in the black/house flies. We've tried many other methods and never had this success.
Date published: 2015-05-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solitude IGR I've used this product for several years. It really works well.
Date published: 2015-05-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective I board my horse at my trainer's and she has requested we buy this for our horses for several years, because it works so well. We pair Solitude IGR with Smart-Bug Off and our horses are so much happier than the horses next door and around us. It gets mixed in with the horses' beet pulp and they munch it down.
Date published: 2015-04-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Effective! Major difference in fly population in a short time!
Date published: 2014-11-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most effective feed-through fly product available I've used every brand out there and found this to work the best. Manure piles don't have bugs flying around them when we feed this stuff, so I feel better mucking once a day instead of constantly!
Date published: 2014-06-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the Job Very palatable and easy to use! Seems to keep the fly numbers down, I have used it for several years now and my fly numbers seem to be less than other small farms.
