It really does work!
I have been using solitude for about 6 weeks. I started a little late, in early April. We have been having a very warm and rainy spring which normally would bring a huge fly population to torment my horses. there are very few flies! I have a neighbor who is very close and I do not believe she uses this, but it still had a great impact.

So far so good.
Bought this a little over a month ago, although it hasn't been so hot yet. But they seem to be reducing our fly population. But a bit more pricey than its competitors.

So Far Seems Good
I will have to visit this review once we are in the height of summer. However as of right now, my six horses have been on this a month. It seems to be working. We are seeing flies but not many adult flies. The IGR works to prevent flies from forming an exoskeleton thus preventing them from surviving into adulthood. We see lots of baby flies but that is it. I was worried at first but when I went to the website this is the way it works. I do not know the true affect it is having for us since we do not have a lot of flies anywhere in the valley yet. Once we are in full swing fly season I will update my review. Horses ate it up just fine too.

It works as part of a program
I have a single horse kept at home. I have been working on perfecting my fly management program. There are several other horse homes in the neighborhood and I could not tell you if they implement any sort of fly control program. This product helped immensely. Last year used a combination of the the physical hanging traps and fly predators and still had a decent size fly population. The addition of Solitude IGR got rid of every single fly. I do notice a few flys toward the end of my predator cycle, but after a re-spread of those not a single fly can be found. The horse had no problem eating this product.

Very Palatable
I had been using the Smart Pak version, and my horse grudgingly ate it last year, but would not touch it this year. I had luck with it, so I decided to try something else. The molasses makes a huge difference. The flies have all but disappeared around him and on him. Very good product that my horse will eat!

Sadly not seeing results.
I was desperate in trying to find something that reduces the fly population. Not seeing a decrease in the fly population. At least my horse is eating it.

Reduces Flies Immediately!
We were surprised to see an immediate reduction in the black/house flies. We've tried many other methods and never had this success.

Effective
I board my horse at my trainer's and she has requested we buy this for our horses for several years, because it works so well. We pair Solitude IGR with Smart-Bug Off and our horses are so much happier than the horses next door and around us. It gets mixed in with the horses' beet pulp and they munch it down.

Most effective feed-through fly product available
I've used every brand out there and found this to work the best. Manure piles don't have bugs flying around them when we feed this stuff, so I feel better mucking once a day instead of constantly!

Does the Job
Very palatable and easy to use! Seems to keep the fly numbers down, I have used it for several years now and my fly numbers seem to be less than other small farms.

It really works!
I went to my vets one day and noticed he had virtually no flies. He told me he uses this in his anti-fly regimen. So I added it to mine to see if there was a difference for me. It cut down the flies so that there was maybe less than 20% of what I would normally get with out using this. It works even better when it is added to different fly systems. The horses had no problem eating this.

Nearly NO flies
I used this product for the first time last year on my two horses. I was truly impressed for nearly the entire summer. In late September/early October there seemed to be a new "bloom" of flies which necessitated light spray on the legs and top line and use of fly strips in the barn, but overall for the majority of the summer I was essentially fly-free. A bit costly, but when adding in the cost of gallons of fly spray that I didn't use this year, and the gas and time involved in going to the not-so-local feed store, it equals out. Great product I will use again this summer.

Impressed
We moved to a new farm last year and our house is very close to our barn/manure pile. I was really concerned about having flies in the house and all over the pool area. I started feeding it in April and also bought 1 bag of fly predators to start the year off. All horses have eaten it no problem. I really hadn't noticed if it was working or not, but had several friends and my farrier all comment unsolicited about the lack of flies at my place. Then I went to a friends farm to ride and was shocked by how bad the flies were. I had heard rumors that the flies were "bad this year" from people but WOW what a difference! We don't use a fly spray system or anything else at home. I will be using this next year and every year after!

Insect control - so far so good
We just started this product about a month ago. We have used BugCheck for uses, but decided to switch to a product without garlic for the health of our horses. Even though BugCheck does not have a lot of garlic, we understand even a low level over an extended period can be toxic.
The fact this is a pelleted product is a huge plus. The horses eat it very well and we don't have to worry about the powder sticking to the feed containers and sifting to the bottom of the feed tubs. This is a huge plus from our perspective.
We chose this product because it received better reviews, even though it is more expensive than the other garlic free product. We use feed through control along with fly predators and start both together roughly a month before fly season. So far, Solitude seems to be just as effective as BugCheck. So, we are very pleased.

Solitude keeps Flies from breeding!!
Love this product! Solitude doesn't allow flies to breed. No eggs or larvae in the manure pit = less flies. This makes the horses happy. When they are happy. I'm happy!

We run a 10 stall barn with 15-20 horses on site at all times. Started using this product in early March this year; we had an early spring that jumped right into summer. It took longer than the stated 6 week period to see results; even starting that early. Every horse on the farm received the required dosage daily. Once it did start to work, it was very noticeable. We have tried the other two feed-thru products (Simplifly and Farnum Equitrol) the last two years. The Simplifly seemed to work almost as well as the Solitude in my opinion; for about half the money. The Equitrol did not work at all for us. Simplifly is much less expensive than Solitude; and since we ended up using a premise spray with both, I will likely go with the Simplifly next year. Both of those products performed well. Would recommend either of them.

Only fly supplement that WORKS
I was in TX with my horses this summer and the barn we were at requires all the boarders to provide this supplement for their horses. For the first time in my life with horses I didn't go through ONE BOTTLE of fly spray the entire summer. The barn is almost fly free. It is the most pleasant barn I've ever been in, in the middle of summer- and its in Texas! Hands down this is an incredible product, worth the money (I would easily be spending as much in fly spray and other fly traps monthly) and the horses eat it right up. HIGHLY recommend!

It works!
I must say I wasn't expecting this to work. I've always depended on fly spray and garlic in the summer for fly protection. But this year my mare and I decided to give Solitude a try and were very pleasantly surprised. It worked! At first I thought I was imagining it after a week and I thought I saw a reduction in the amount of flies pestering my mare. Then a couple weeks later---now---I am positive that this product works and helped get rid of those nasty bugs. It also tastes great to my mare and she gobbles these pellets up as if they were treats.

Living in south Florida the fly situation can be daunting at best. Once we started a program that included Solitude IGR, Fly predators and a fly system in the barn we rarely deal with flies. Even in the pastures the swishing of flies is minimal. Highly recommend

Relief From Flies
I have had my horse property for 5 summers. For three, I used fly predators. In central Illinois, they just didn't work. I had four horses and cleaned manure twice a day. The first year was fine, but by year three the flies were a daily annoyance. Spaulding said to buy yet more predators, and it had no noticeable effect. By July I decided to try Solitude IGR. The difference was almost immediate. Within a week the fly population had decreased drastically, measured by my comfort working in the barn and the need for fly spray. This year I skipped the predators and used only SIGR. It's now mid July and the height of fly season. Despite the extreme heat this year, it's been very pleasant. I don't notice flies tickling me while I work and the horses are not stomping and bothered. I use spray to repel mostly Mosquitos and gnats. This product is expensive, but so easy to use. Even my picky eater will consume it. And it works, for everyone's comfort.

Great Product!
I started using Solitude b/c a trainer requested it, in order to take lessons at his facilities. When it ran out, (and I wasn't taking lessons anymore), I decided to stop using it. Almost immediately, I noticed a dramatic increase in flies around my house. Definitely has become a staple for my barn!

Awesome product
Living in Oklahoma we have a large fly problem. I started giving this product to my horses and donkey and within 4 weeks I notice a huge difference in the flies. Now being almost an entire bucket into it flies don't drop down onto the horses. They are happy and pretty much fly free. This stuff is by far the most amazing stuff.
