Horses Don't Like It
I bought this supplement last year to replace the cheap stuff from my local Tractor Supply. We tried to use it with my boarder's horse after he had an impaction. He refused to eat it unless we mixed it in with his bran mash. A few weeks ago the temperature spike up suddenly so I gave it to my other two guys mixed with their feed. They ate around it and left the feed that was touching the powder. Three different horses and nobody will eat it. I'll never buy this again.

Picky eater didn't like it at first.
I suspect that the pelleted version is more palatable, but my horse did eventually come around to the powdered stuff.

Not to His Majesty's liking
This electrolyte may have the right balance of potassium, sodium and chloride but my horse does not like the cherry taste. He would not drink the water with the electrolyte in it and is finicky when I add it in the feed. I will have to go back to an apple taste electrolyte. I wish Smartlytes would come in apple or carrot taste.

Amazing supplement for my old guy
I started my lil paint gelding on this supplement probably about 3 years ago, I tried both the powder and the pellets, he ate the pellets better, however if their was food in front of him it wouldn't be very long before it was all gobbled up! I ordered him the powder, especially because i know it all was going to be eaten since he always licked his feed trough clean after breakfast and dinner anyways! He was just a little guy only 12.3 hh and I could never get him to drink until i put him on this powder. Instead of barely going through one bucket of water per day it changed to almost 3 buckets per day especially in the warmer months and he was being worked. He and I did driving mainly with the occasional bareback trail ride. Thanks to smartpak I was possitive he would have a nice long drink when we would come home!

Not a picky eater
My guy won't eat this unless it's SUPER mixed in with his grain, and he's not a picky eater. Ordered the pellets instead for next month's supply. Fingers crossed! Worth a try if your horse isn't picky since it's a bit cheaper, but if the horse is picky, go with pellets.

Not a fan
Since my horse is in training, I tend to be aware of proper electrolyte balancing and adequate drinking. However my gelding would not touch this. Not mixed with sweet feed, nor rice bran, nor peppermints. Which is too bad, it smells like lemonade and almost good enough for me to eat :o)

Great no sugar electrolyte
I have a horse who has PSSM. He is worked hard. The SmartLytes work. Finding a electrolyte that works with our the sugar is important. My two other horses are given SmartLytes also and recover well.

My picky eater won't touch it
I bought this as part of my first ever smart paks for my 2 year old. Turns out she is pickier than I thought and wouldn't touch this stuff. Switching to a pellet for the upcoming month.

Non-Palatable
As far as electrolytes go, this may be fabulous, but only one of my three horses would eat it. One is a 26 year old guy who rarely refuses anything in his feed! The only one who would eat this electrolyte readily is our 4 year old OTTB, and he eats EVERYTHING, reins, halters, buckets, etc.... As always, SmartPak customer service gets a major gold star, they refunded the monthly cost of the powder and made the change to the pellets for me :) So, this is a good price for an electrolyte, as long as your horse will eat it!

Awesome!
This product works very well and smells good too! My horse got the powder form and loves it licks his bucket clean! It smells like berries, it helped my boy tramendously! I was having problems keeping him dehydrated especially after his colic surgery almost two years ago. I needed him to stay hydrated and this did the trick! Thanks again smart pak!

Never dehydrated
I'm loving smart lytes as a good quality, inexpensive way to keep my horse hydrated. My horse drinks like a fish and we've had zero dehydration incidents. Highly recommend for horses in moderate to hard work.

Real Garlic
Looks like garlic, smells like garlic (not that nasty bitter smell of the powdered form). Mega cheap. My warmblood has never left any uneaten, but then he is a bit of a starving orphan that will eat anything.

Great taste
While I have the 2 horses I lease on it, everyone in our barn is on it and has been for years. No horse has objected to taste and I feel it is the best electrolyte in the market.

Keeps my horse safe, and smells like SweetTarts!
These electrolytes are a must have for my horse! I keep him on 1/2 dose in the winter and a full dose in the summer time. It helps keep him drinking, replenishes nutrients lost through sweat, and he actually eats it! He can be finicky about what he eats (especially in powder form), but he will eat this by itself!

Easier, more reliable than salt block
I dislike feeding salt blocks because there is no way to tell how much salt your horse is getting (if any). They are also messy, melt away in the rain, get mud/dirt all over them, etc. I have a 17 year old Thoroughbred mare who sweats excessively at polo, much more so than my other mare when playing at the same intensity. She tends to drink a lot of water normally but I wanted to ensure that she was getting her salts replenished after workouts so I added SmartLytes to her LMF Senior ration. She does seem to be drinking more water than usual although it's hard to tell if her stamina is any better due to the supplement. The good thing is she eats it with no objections, and she is the pickiest horse I have ever met. Won't eat apples, apple sauce, molasses from a jar, most powdered supplements and of course won't touch powdered bute with a 10' pole, yet eats the SmartLytes powder right up when mixed with LMF.

My mare needs salt to keep her drinking water to aviod colic. She doesn't really like the table salt I was giving her, but she eats the SmartLytes powder.

My horse wouldn't eat it
This looks like a good product, but unfortunately, my horse won't eat it. She's generally not picky, but she left this in the bucket, even if I wet her feed.

Cant go wrong!
I travel to horse shows and trail rides frequently i like to keep this stuff in my trailer or in the barn on days where there not drinking so much or if i feel i need to keep them drinking. Its a great price and i just mix it in with their grain. When i fed it everyday i lowered the maintenance dose and still saw a difference. Great stuff and they clean it up even though its a powder.

Great supplement!
My horse was very picky about electrolyte supplements, so I was trying to find one that he would actually eat. I was very pleased when he gobbled up his bucket when the supplement came! Now I feel good knowing that he is getting the electrolytes he needs for the hot weather.
