Replaces key minerals lost in sweat
Dehydration in horses has serious consequences. In order to keep your horse properly hydrated and performing his best, it is essential to supplement his diet with salt. Neither hay, pasture, nor fortified grain contain enough salt (sodium chloride) to meet your horse’s needs, and not all horses can get their requirements from a salt block alone. Feeding a well-balanced electrolyte supplement like SmartLytes Pellets can supply the sodium chloride your horse needs, in addition to the other electrolyte minerals that are lost in sweat - potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Supplying these electrolytes will also encourage your horse to drink more water, rebalancing his fluids and helping to ensure proper digestion of feeds.

Good if your horse will eat it
This seems more palatable than other electrolyte supplements I have tried but still only 2 out of 3 horses will eat it.

My horse is drinking more
I started using these after my horse had an impaction colic of the small colon likely brought on by not drinking enough water. The vet at the clinic suggested adding in electrolytes to help encourage drinking.
It seemed to take about 7-10 days for it to kick in, but my horse has been drinking more. I split the supplement between AM and PM feeding and still seems to work fine. My picky eater doesn't seem to notice them in his grain and eats them no problem.

The horse does not care for them
I ordered one round only of them but my horse is not too keen on eating them especially when she is not very hungry then she leaves them/ her regular grain partially uneaten. Until they are gone I only give them when she has been sweating more than usual during the workout. But I have to say she is one of the horses that drinks the most at the barn, she has a himalayan salt rock as well as a mineral rock in her stall and the barn gives some other mineral salts during the summer months with their evening ration. So I have decided not to reorder.

Great Product!
This is the only electrolyte supplement that my horses will eat. I’ve tried powder electrolytes and no matter what I try, my horses hated them all. The pellets are a plus and I’ve never had an issue getting my horses to eat them. It only takes a small amount so I never have to worry about them not eating it all. This is the only electrolyte that I use and would highly recommend it.

Electrolytes that my horse will eat!
Never found any electrolytes locally that my horse would accept. There were a lot of different flavors but they were all powder and he hated them. He will eat your pellets though and living in Florida I am sure he needs electrolytes.

Horse loves it!
Recently been suggested to put my gelding on electrolytes to encourage an increase in his water intake to help with sucked in flanks. Very happy with the results and continue to use this product daily along with Smartbreate. The only thing I would like to request is that they offer 15 lbs and 30 lbs in bucket form like other supplements they offer, making it much easier to store and keep supplement dry and maintain freshness.

Love this product!
I love these pellets! I have a very picky TB who can pick food out from around any powder! He loves these pellets! I'm in South FL so it is really important to keep his electrolytes in him & not in the bucket!

Nice pants, poor fit
The piper breeches look great, but if you have anything resembling a hi der, forget it. Waist is huge, hips are small. Exactly the opposite of most women. For those of us seeking an alternate to the Tailored Sportman, which fit only the most pristine of lower nodies, this product is not your answer. Great detail and pretty, but poor fit for those of us thicker than the normal twig. And I'm not fat.

Smells So Good!
I added these to my super picky mare's SmartPak. I had read reviews about them being incredibly palatable. She wasn't drinking enough for my liking so I figured these couldn't hurt. I wish she would eat them! These have caused her not to eat her dinner. I'm going to try the SmartSalt.

Great
I started my gelding this quite a while ago, because of his semi-heavy workload. In Oklahoma it can get into the 110s and down into the single digits (sometimes in the same week). So I wanted to make sure he stayed hydrated no matter what the weather was. He is the total opposite of the saying "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink", thanks to this supplement.
My mare just had to have colic surgery a couple days ago, and the attending vet recommend adding electrolytes to her diet. I hadn't before because she's "retired" and has never had a problem with drinking. I hope this will work as well for her as does my gelding.

Great for picky pony
My pony is super picky when it comes to feed changes he refused to eat the powder electrolytes. The first week he would eat most of the pellets then go back and finish the rest. Now that he is used to the change he eats them right up with zero fuss!

Great in the windy outdoors & low-grain rations
After using several pastes and powdery to granular electrolytes (including plain table salt), have found that this one seems to have a good mix of salt and other electrolytes, and the pellets are better for outdoor feeding of pastured horses and those on low-grain rations, at relatively low cost.
(Am a seasonal or event-driven (e.g., the hypohydrosis horse, before/during/after shows, coldest and hottest months) electrolyte-giver rather than 365-days a year for every horse,)

My horse had a mild impaction colic episode recently and one of the suggestions my vet had was to get her to drink more water. I did some research and this was the one product that specifically mentioned that it would increase water consumption. She has been on this product for about a month and is not yet up to the total recomended dose because she is not that happy with the flavor! However, I do believe she is drinking more water.

Good for picky eaters and easy keepers
I've been using this for sometime on two horses with two unique challenges. One horse is an extremely picky eater and refuses to touch his grain if it has any powder. The SmartLytes pellets he cleans up no problem. The other is a very easy keeping pony that is on a dry, bland pellet for weight management. Any powders sift to the bottom and she wastes. With the pellets however, she can easily clean up the electrolytes.

Horse loves them!
I bought this for my horse since he was sweating a lot lately. I've always had trouble finding the picky eater electrolytes, even though he is not picky at all! Once I gave it to him, he LOVED it! He takes the pellets like a treat!

Picky eater will not touch it
I have one horse that will eat this and one picky eater that wouldn't touch it. I hoped this product would allow me to discontinue using a powder that I felt the picky eater allowed to fall to the bottom of her feed tub. No such luck.
