Beware of SmartLamina Pellets
Beware of this product. I switched from Figuerola Labs Lamina Saver which I used for years with a mare who became sore footed following vaccines. For ease of use I switched to the SmarLamina Pellets. Within weeks my mare had open sores all over her legs and one on her hindquarter, which appear to be abscesses as they are draining pus. The most horrid result is that my mare foundered within one month of being on the product with rotation of the coffin bone in both front feet, no change in diet. We are now trying to save my mare with clog shoes, bute twice a day and banamine but there are no guarantees. I phoned smartpak, shared my experience, was told I would receive a phone call, nothing, no phone call, tried to phone several times, but can not get through to speak with anyone, this is not what I expect from Smartpak after years of giving them my farm's business.

Great Lamina Support Supplement!
You MUST try this; although it is pretty pricey and takes time to notice results, I won't stop this supplement... probably ever. Internal parts of the hoof help make and build the outside of a hoof. My boy was not laminitic, foundering, or even have cushing's or etc. he just had bad feet that would put him at risk for all those things. He was sore, lame and was putting stress on his ligaments/tendons though. I have tons of radiographs of his feet!! This wasn't the only supplement that contributed to me getting his feet corrected (he needed lots of biotin as well in addition & a low sugar grain diet) but after watching every farrier visit improve with his lamina getting stronger, bonding together & him becoming less sensitive this supplement is truly incredible. A horse's lamina is what holds the horse's hoof onto the hoof wall (so it plays a VERY important role!!) My boy has been on this supplement for 4 years now, so it's a long process, this is not something that will work in a month :) *The description also says it's for easy keepers, insulin resistant, etc. but my boy had none of that and he's a hard keeper. It still works!

Great for donkeys!!
I’ve got two rescue donks on this. Both have weigh issues, as well as insulin resistance and had been foundered.
My male is the pickiest of eaters and he eats this with no issues.
Both donks have been on it for about a month now and both are doing really well and moving so much better.
The only con is that it’s pretty pricy to have both donks on it.

All of a sudden my horse was bleeding from his white line. At every trim, there was more blood, and the white line was becoming more yellow. I called the vet for x-rays, and it showed no signs that worried her, but knowing my horse and being barefoot for 12 years with no problems before, I quickly put him on Smart Lamina. I have been for 4 months now. After each month's trim, the white line stopped bleeding and grew out white again. I full-hearted believe this stopped pre-laminitis in my aging boy!

Highly highly recommend
I started my 16 year old paso fino gelding on this supplement as a last ditch effort before putting him on isoxoprine and equiox. As a typical paso fino he has foundered several times, all of his normal things weren’t helping. When I started him on this supplement I expected to have to wait several weeks before seeing a difference but he was more comfortable in 3 days (nothing else changed!) by 7 days he was sound again. He will be on this supplement for the rest of his days, I can’t recommend it enough!

Most important supplement my horse takes
This is the most important supplement that my horse takes. I keep her on this as well as a biotin based supplement for her hoof health. Until I started using this supplement my horse was frequently lame, being sore due to thin soles and hoof sensitivity, weak hooves, namely in her club foot. She needed shoes but couldn't wear them because she would pull them off and get abscesses repeatedly, and then got supporting limb laminitis in her "good" foot. But then our hooves were too sensitive to be barefoot so she had to live in Boots 24/7 for several years while still frequently becoming sore. It wasn't until I used this supplement that I was able to turn her out with out any protection completely and she remains comfortable. It keeps inflammation down enough to where I don't have to worry about keeping her feet protected all the time. I recommend this to anyone whose horse has struggled with any kind of hoof sensitivity!

Foundered Support
Put my foundered Appy on this 7 months after the founder as he was just not moving well, still sore, soft splitting feet. He had been doing better in therapy boots but when out of boots he went lame. Put him on this and after a week he was running and moving sound in or out of the boots. My farrier was surprised to see such a difference and wanted to put clogs on him too. I wasn't going to let him but got talked into it and you would never know the horse had foundered by the way he ran, bucked, and played. Between the clogs and Smartlamina my horse is happy again. It is worth a try if you have laminitis, founder, or sore feet. You should see a difference in just a week or one month. I almost put my horse down and am glad I tried this supplement.

couldn't ask for more!
I have two miniature horses with chronic laminitis. Even with vet and farrier working hand-in-hand for months, they just weren't comfortable. Saw this supplement when browsing for my 3 full size horses' supplements and decided to give it a try. We are on week four and WOW! WOW! they are completely different horses! Their movement is night vs day. They're playful again. They shed out better than ever this summer. Slick, shiny and beautiful. And the pellets must be delicious because they just about bombard me every night for them! THANK YOU SMARTPAKS!

Really works
One of my Fjords got a toxic laminitis. I put him on this product and he is doing really well. He has good hoof growth and his sole is thickening very well.
