A product that actually works
My horse has been eaten alive the past few summers, having to wear a fly sheet mask and boots. I was not sure this would work. Especially since the other horses are not on it, but I have been pleasantly surprised. His chest and stomach have not been rubbed raw this summer and he has not had to wear a fly mask to keep the flys out of his eyes. I would recommend it to anyone with a sensitive skinned horse

This. Stuff. Works!
They work!!! I was having terrible trouble with flies constantly all over my horse. Fly spray only worked OK. SmartBug-Off has made a huge difference. My horse no longer has scabs all along the fly line. Iʻm usually skeptical about herbals, but this stuff really works. I just wish the shipping wasnʻt so high on bulk packages. I am happy that the daily packs are recyclable.

I bought this not expecting it to work. Very impressed. I have a thin skinned mare bugs really go after and now she is so much better! No bites on her chest. Flies not bothering her. Better than fly spray

My boy has Insect Bite Hypersensitivity and feeding this saved him from having to be 24/7 covered in fly sheets and boots in the hot summer and rubbing all his hair off. All he has to wear now is a fly mask and light spray all summer long - even in the worst flies (and our barn is pretty bad for those). Definitely worth it for his comfort!

Worked well
I fed this to my horse this summer and noticed less bugs on him. I still needed to use bug spray but the intensity of bugs was much lower. My horse didn’t love the flavor but ate it mixed with his other feed.

Has some good ingredients
But the big container and even ended up doubling up the dose and it's made zero difference as far as the mosquitoes and flies here in Southern Arizona. But as I pointed out it does have some very good ingredients that are going to do some positive things.

SmartBug-Off saved my filly's summer!
I recently adopted a 3 yr old OTTB filly and moved her to NC, where we've had a record hot summer with terrible flies. She must have the most fly-attractive coat I've ever encountered, and she was being eaten alive. I had a great, brand new fly sheet and mask and was coating her DAILY in the Absorbine Ultrashield that is still working great on our other horses. Still, she was being bitten constantly. After 3 weeks of SmartBug-Off, it was like a switch flipped. I ditched the fly sheet (which made her too hot in the upper 90s here) and am using fly spray ONLY once or twice a week! Her quality of life is SO much better, and I'm thrilled to reducing our chemical exposure. She will never go another summer without this product. She also loves the taste, and she's a very picky eater!

Didn't see any change
I saw no change in using the supplement at all. Wanted this to work so badly but it didn't. Didn't see a change in the flies in my girls stall or on her body.

Happier horses
I wasn’t sure if this was really working because my horses were still bothered by flies and stomping some but they didn’t have blood on their legs from bites and I didn’t have to use fly boots. My replacement order got delayed and I ran out. I soon saw a difference with welts from fly bites. It must have been working and I will continue to use it.

Haven't noticed a difference
I really haven't noticed much of a difference. Still have flies all over my two horses. I'll keep them on it throughout the fly season, just incase it is scaring a couple away.
We have gone through 2 bags now. My horses enjoy the taste.

It really Works!!
This year As always I started my Trakehner on SmartPak off Ultra in April. I didn’t start my older TB mare On it because she’s been such a picky eater this year that I thought she would go off her food. Once the May flies (gnats, midgies) were out she was being eaten alive swollen scabs all over her body, despite fly spray and swat. So I decided to give her Smart Bugoff Ultra twice a day, load her up with it and within a week she was repelling bugs and within two weeks there was remarkable healing of the damage that the flies are done. There is no question that this product works from the inside out; the change was so dramatic. I also found that spraying their fly masks with the OutSmart bug spray kept the mayflies from swarming in clouds
around their heads. I wonder if the people who have not found good results have just not given them enough or tried it for long enough.

Helps a little
I have had my horses on this for about 1 month. It helps with the stable flies but not with the gnats, which was my main expectation. I have one horse who gets summer sores around his fetlocks from gnats, it hasn’t helped with that.

Didn't help biting flies and gnats
I tried this on my super sensitive thin skinned horse. I have two so I only fed it to one to see if it was effective I didn't notice any difference in the amount of stomping and biting between the two horses. So I can not recommend this product, especially at the cost.

Works Wonders for My Horse!
SmartBug-Off Ultra Pellets have worked wonders for my horse during the pesky fly season! My horse tends to get bites and bumps from insects during the spring and summer months and after starting him on this product his bites and bumps have gone down significantly.
I’ve also noticed that when there is a pile of manure in his stall the flies steer clear and want nothing to do with it. Additionally, my horse tends to be picky with supplements and I was very surprised to find that he ate these straight out of my hand not mixed with anything else!
The other great benefit to this product is that my horse has such a shiny coat thanks to the omega 3 fatty acids! I’m incredibly impressed with how well this product has worked for my gelding. I highly recommend giving this supplement a try if your horse gets irritated by those pesky insects.

Does not repel bugs
I bought this SmartBug-off Ultra pellets earlier this spring and had been feeding it to my very bite sensitive horse for a couple of months. Doesn't work. The first time it warmed up she was going crazy. Waste of money. My mare ate it just fine but sure didn't help her any. Have had good luck with some of your other products but not this one.

It really works!
I have a 18 year old mare who has battled sweet itch for several years. Many dollars and a lot of time spent on head to toe fly wear, more than a bottle of fly spray each week, medicated baths, skin soothing gel, stalling during the day, etc. she was still moth eaten, scabby, and itchy. 1 month after starting Smart Bug Off, her skin looks amazing! She is not rubbing on the stall walls, and even her legs are clean and free of bite marks. She currently has a fly sheet with belly band and neck cover and fly mask, but I really think that when the weather gets really hot, she will be OK without them. I’m in Alabama where there are plenty of bugs for an extended part of the year.

haven't seen a horsefly last two months
We got this because we have a huge problem with flies and gnats. Deep south so it gets bad early in the year and continues for a long time. We still have gnats but not as bad but the flies are not around for the last two months she has been on the supplement. It really is more for flies so I can't complain about the gnat issue. Before we started the Ultra Pellets we had some LARGE horseflies. The big 2" or larger ones. None now. I plan to keep her on it as it really seems to be working at this point. Pleased with product.

The only thing that worked!
I have a thoroughbred gelding that had his tail amputated last year. As if he was not already sensitive enough, the bugs this summer were driving him crazy! I tried every fly spray and fly sheet on the market! Nothing seemed to give him much relief for more than a couple of hours. I was running out of options.
I was skeptical of trying the SmartBug-Off Ultra Pellets for fear that they would not make a difference or that my picky boy would turn his nose up at the thought of consuming pellets containing garlic! I was wrong! My thoroughbred gobbled the pellets right up and within two weeks of starting the supplement, I noticed a huge difference!. He had significantly fewer fly bites than my other horses that are turned out with him. He also stomps less and is visibly less irritated than the others!
This is definitely a Summer must-have for my horses!

Worth it
I have been feeding this for the last few summers to my two horses and I notice some difference in how bothersome the bugs are. I would guess it’s up to a 30 percent improvement which I think is worthwhile. Of course, I still use fly spray and fly masks too as I want my horses to be comfy. I rarely write reviews, but rely on them when I purchase products so thought I should do my part!

No effect on bugs
My four horses have been on this supplement for 3 months and it has had no effect on flies, deer flies, ticks or horse flies. I started them early in February to make sure the supplement was fully in their system when the bugs came out.
