Doesn’t work
Both of my horses have been eating this for months and they are still swarmed with flies. I’m incredibly disappointed that I’ve wasted my money all summer.

They seem to help but
I hate the package, I cannot get it to stay closed and it seems to attact roaches to my feed room, and gross!!! Product seems good, packaging stinks. The lid won't snap shut and stay that way.

Saves my horses in the summer!
One of my chestnut horses gets horrible welts from mosquitos and flies in the summer. Bug off really helps and they eat it all up.

I’m not sure how well it works
My horse has been this since spring. I want to say it works, but I’m not sure. When he is outside he is constantly stomping and swishing at the flies. I would think he should be relatively fly free if it works. He has the same number of flies all the horses have.

SmartBug Off Pellets doesn't work
I bought this looking for more relief for the horses and have been feeding for about 3 weeks and haven't seen any relief from the flies. So, it back to fly spray every night or so. Smart Bug Off spray seems to work a lot better than the pellets. But, nothing seems to be working this year.

Have not seen any results, horses still bothered.
I have 5 horses on this and they are still covered in flies. I don't think there has been any difference and they have been on it 3.5 months now. I also use fly predators and Solitude IGR. Unfortunately my neighbors have horses and cows and don't do anything for fly control so I thought I would try this to see if it would help keep the bugs off my horses that are closest to their property. Maybe they would have even more flies on them without this IDK, but it seems worse than ever. :( They do all eat it ok, which I was worried about because it has a very strong odor!

Surprising benefit
I have been trying garlic supplements for several years for my appy who has the tiniest mane and tail His tail hairs end at the tail bone hence trying products to help him fight the flies. This spring I started Bug-off for the first time. Honestly I don't see any difference with the flies on the horses. Maybe helps with ticks because I've been lucky not seeing them on Jack. BUT, to my delight, his mane and tail are growing! I now have about 3" of new growth and still growing. I can only surmise it's the Omega oils. So thank you. I'd given up hope and now I love to brush his tiny tail which I hope will eventually be enough to swish the flies.

Really works!
I’ve only had my mare on this for a couple of weeks, but I'm already noticing a difference in the amount of flies on her. However, I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t work at all for the horse flies, which are really awful this year. Other than that, they work great!

My horse wouldn’t eat it
I started my horse on this to help with the bugs. Unfortunately he’s not a fan of the taste. He’s usually one to gobble his food and usually isn’t very picky, but with this in his grain he ate very carefully and very slowly.

Really works!
We used bug off pellets for our rescue horse, Rory. We ended them too early, without having bugs on him all summer we thought the fall would be ok to discontinue using them. What a mistake within 3 weeks he was hounded, bitten and miserable. Being a northern transplant to the south I didn’t realize that summer lasts until late November so we are back on bug off and feeling happy once again!

Makes a difference
I was waiting for at least a month before I decided if it was making a difference. Last night we cleaned out their shed, which is often swarmed with flies. However this time there were inevitably some flies, but not the normal swarms. I can often see multiple life stages and sizes of flies, but I didn’t notice them this time.

Works to repel mosquitoes!
We recently had a TON of rain & the mosquitoes have flourished! Several other horses look like bubble wrap they have so many bug bites, but not my mare! I'm so pleased that this supplement ended up working out so well!

Working great until I bathed
After three weeks I noticed that there weren’t any flies in my white horse and I really didn’t need fly spray (I live in Florida). I bathed my horse with soap and the next day she was completely covered in flies so I am starting from scratch day one. Fingers crossed that it works again and I guess I will just have to have a dirty horse.

It has not made a big improvement. I can see a small change. I still have to use DE and other fly control. I have a big problem with this one donkey. Vet said to go ahead and wrap his legs. The flies still try to get thru the wraps. I only have one other donkey they feed off of. I have 12 donkeys, a mule, and 4 horses. The flies only pick on the one donkey and just recently started on the 25 yr old

Works well!
I have put my mostly white, sensitive to bugs, Paint mare on this two summers in a row and it has been a Godsend! Without it, she gets huge ugly welts from bug bites. I hardly see any bites on her since starting this. Love it!

Smart pac Bug Off
I’ve been using this for a month and a half. Pro: both my horses eat it readily. Con: they still have fly bites and the occasional tick. I use this as part of an overall fly control program that includes a feed thru, spray and fly bags. I will continue to use bug off this season but not sure I will for next year.

Helps with ticks but not flies
My OTTB is like a giant tick magnet and HATES flies. This supplement helped to keep ticks off him but didn’t even make a dent in the amount of flies around him. If anything I think he had more flies biting at him than his pasture mates did, I ended up taking him off this supplement after two months as I just don’t think it made a big enough difference for the price. It also claims to be an anti-inflammatory for bug bites but he still came in every with his neck covered in bites. Over all if you want tick control I’d recommend but did not help with flies

Purchased this 1 month ago,.. difficult to rate, as I feel she has not been on the product long enough! I did buy a product that would be large enough for 58 days I believe it is! I think it needs some more time! However we live here in Florida, and the Flies are horrific! With that being said, I did purchase another bag of it, in anticipation that this will help! I don't feel that anyone product is going to do it by itself, I think you need to layer lots of different methods to get rid of flies!
