Helps with ticks but not flies
My OTTB is like a giant tick magnet and HATES flies. This supplement helped to keep ticks off him but didn’t even make a dent in the amount of flies around him. If anything I think he had more flies biting at him than his pasture mates did, I ended up taking him off this supplement after two months as I just don’t think it made a big enough difference for the price. It also claims to be an anti-inflammatory for bug bites but he still came in every with his neck covered in bites. Over all if you want tick control I’d recommend but did not help with flies

Purchased this 1 month ago,.. difficult to rate, as I feel she has not been on the product long enough! I did buy a product that would be large enough for 58 days I believe it is! I think it needs some more time! However we live here in Florida, and the Flies are horrific! With that being said, I did purchase another bag of it, in anticipation that this will help! I don't feel that anyone product is going to do it by itself, I think you need to layer lots of different methods to get rid of flies!

A must have
I put my horses on this every year. It cuts the flys back more than half and also keeps the ticks off of them. Honestly, I love the smell of them as I’m a big garlic/vinegar fan. My horses love the taste. I literally sometimes pour the well right into my hand and feed it as a treat opposed to throwing it in their grain. They take it right from my hand.
My horses are surrounded by 3 cow farms and there are over 100 cows within a 5 mile radius. This adds extra protection from the flies feasting on them.
I do notice the difference in the number of flies on them in comparison to other horses on the property. Only about 2-3 at a time when the others have about 10 or so.

Really made a difference
This may sound silly but I actually got this for my donkey. His ears were getting chewed on something awful and he definitely seems happier after a month. It's big pellets too so he doesn't need a ton of grain mixed with it.

Love SmartPak Supplements...Just Not This One
My whole barn is on one or another of SmartPak's supplements and we are very happy customers. The products are great and the service is always amazing. When I saw this supplement, I immediately thought of trying it out on my gelding that gets terrorized by flies. The price was right and I had nothing to lose.
Some quick background on this particular gelding, Guinness. He is the horse on the property that never gives me any trouble .For as long as I have owned Guinness, he has never had a single bout of colic.
So, I begin giving Guinness this supplement and he loves it! He is usually a very picky eater but I had no trouble giving this to him. However, within 2 weeks, he started colicking in the morning right after eating his feed with the Smartbug supplement in it. He colicked two mornings in a row and as soon as I stopped giving him the Smartbug, the episodes stopped and he has been fine since.
I suspect that he may have a sensitivity to garlic or one of the other ingredients in this supplement....so unfortunately, I had to cancel this particular Smartpak.

Flies beware!
Just started 2nd month of Bug-Off so I can't give a glowing report, but I think there is a difference in the fly attack. Hopefully, after this next 28 days, I'll see a definite difference. For the price, it's worth a try. That said, SmartPak is the best way to go for any supplements.

Great Bug Relief
I have been using Smart Bug Off pellets for a couple of years now and love it. This year I get it in Smart Packs, which is very convenient. I don't run out because it's shipped on time. The Smart Bug Off is always in my horse's system and the bugs stay off.

Works well!
I bought this in February as a way to prepare my mare and pony for the hard Florida summers. It seems to work pretty well. I notice now that I've missed a few days that they are coming back around, so I know it was working.

Feed thru fly repellent
I fed the Smart Bug Off for a month. My horse ate it readily. While I do feel the flies were less bothersome, it was late in the year to try this. We have already had sub-freezing nights, so the flies are going away. Will try earlier next year.

I think it's working
The flies have been horrible this summer. One of my geldings is a fly magnet. He would be covered in flies if I didn't use fly spray and a fly mask. I decided to give the SmartBug-Off a try. I've noticed a lot less flies landing on my both horses. I would have given it five stars but I'm also using fly spray and Fly Predators so I can't say this product is the only thing keeping the flies away but it is definitely helping. I started to see results in just a couple weeks. Picky eater approved! Will definitely be using this next summer!

In just a month the flies are not completely gone but there are much less flies than before using SmartBug-Off Pellets. There are just a few around my ponies ankles and belly, no more around his face, neck and body!. He has severe reactions to the bug bites and since using SmartBug-Off Pellets his coat has cleared up and is looking shinny and healthy again!! He loves the pellets and eagerly eats them right up.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
I bought this product several years ago in the individual packets and it worked great but was quite pricey and couldn't afford it. Last year I thought I would try again and bought it in the bulk. I think they've changed the formula somehow because it was completely worhtless. I started giving it to my horse in January so that it would be in their systems by fly season, but it's worthless. Also tried the garlic flakes and those were worthless too.

Saw absolutely no difference
I started both of my horses on this product in May as instructed before the flys/bug became bad in our area. My horses are the only horses in the barn on any kind of bug repellent supplement. I saw absolutely no results from this product. My horses were still getting ate up. Very disappointed considering I have been a huge fan of all the Smart Pak supplements.

Easy to Use
Very efficient, timely and easy to use. Horse did not mind the garlic smell - ate just fine with feed. So far seems to help with mosquitoes etc however regular face/house flies still somewhat of a pest. Nothing on them is 100%

Ive had my horses on this for a month or so and tho I don't think that I think it keeps the big flying bugs away, it does keep the ticks and gnats at bay so I consider it a win.

Tasty and seems to work?
I purchased this to help keep flies off my horse when I am out of town and cannot fly-spray him every day, and I think it helps! It is palatable and certainly gives me peace of mind.

I really, really wish it worked!
I really wanted it to work. But it simply didn't. I noticed no difference at all. So I upgraded to Ultra, and still absolutely no difference in flies.

Works great!!
My 2 horses are always covered in flies no matter what I do here in the heat of NC. To my amazement after a week of giving my horses these pellets the flies are not covering their legs. Granted there are still a few flies but they have been significantly reduced. I will continue using this product during fly season And I am so grateful to have found something that works!!

Didn't do anything
I had high hopes for helping my two horses with fly protection out on the trail. Unfortunately, after two months, I didn't see any changes, and my horses were still getting bit. SmartPak did give me a store credit for the bucket, since the full refund is only for the Paks.

Not having much effect with keeping flies away.
It doesn't help with the flies at all. My trainer said don't bother sending out anymore.
