Couldn’t tell a difference
I have been feeding this for about six weeks now and cannot tell a difference in the flies. We had an abnormally bad fly season which I know did not help but I could not tell any difference with the horses on it versus how they were prior to. Both of my geldings gobbled it up so it was at least easy to feed.

Horse loves it!
I bought this about 2 weeks ago. My horse eats it just fine. I am not sure how well it is working because it takes time but I do think I am seeing a little less fly activity every day. I add it too my SmartPak delivery.

Bye Bye Fly
Even tho this product seems to do what's it's advertised for (bye bye flies), the packaging for the smaller 2.2# container is extremely sub-par for shipments. I ordered the original w/several other products. When I received the box, the garlic was loose everywhere in the box and on the steps leading up to my apartment. I called and a replacement was sent and when I received it, the same thing. I could hear the garlic loose in the box, which had been very securely taped, but not the garlic container. Even tho I know this is made by another company and Smartpak is a retailer, it's the first time I've had such a problem with the packaging of a single product.

Nontoxic and works as well as anything else
So, I am one of those Natural people who has their horse shoeless, bitless bridle, etc. I was hoping this would work because let’s face it, reeking of garlic isn’t attractive to anyone, regardless. And I have to say that after about 2 weeks, significant reduction in flies compared to everyone else’s horse. I mean significant, like an 80/85% in comparison. I read the reviews on every fly product here and thought I would give this a shot first, then up the game if I had to. But no need. No fly control is perfect— it’s a barn for goodness’ sake — but garlic is great for digestive system too and he is 17 and “girthy” as we say. Oh I forgot! He hates the taste so I can only sneak one level scoop into his food and have to mix it reaaaaally well.

Not sure about the effectiveness yet but it doesn't make her smell bad and she eats it no problem.

Taste
Tried it for my seniors horse initially and she didn’t like it nor the smell. Then tried the whole herd and no one would eat it. Even tried halving the dosage (1/2 a well) and no luck :(

This works for itch relief!!
I bought this supplement last screen when my building broke out in hives, he is also a super itchy guy. I prefer natural supplements and I know garlic has multiple benefits not just for repelling insects, but it’s also great for immunity. When my gelding is on garlic supplements he doesn’t break out in hives and he’s much happier and no longer itchy. I noticed while he’s been off them since last summer, as soon as the warm weather came back this season he broke out in hives again. Poor guy also hurt himself with a bad scrape trying to scratch his head! From now on I’ll keep him in garlic flakes year round. This supplement absolutely helps my gelding 100%!

Didn’t work at all
My thoroughbred has been on this supplement for close to a month and I’m sad to say I’ll be cancelling it. He does eat it willingly but I’m seeing no results from it. I was hoping at the very least it would keep ticks off of him as he’s extremely prone to them. I’ve pulled five off of him in the last week. Not to mention his stall has smelled horrid since he’s been on this and the flies continue to bother him in there anyway. It was worth a try but I wouldn’t waste your money

No more hives
My horse never had bug issues in CA but in OH she was being eaten alive and was getting hives all over her body. I added the garlic and I will never take her off. The bugs still are around her, but she no longer gets hives even on her belly. She is very happy and now can enjoy turnout time on pasture and semi retirment in peace. I no longer fly spray her which she likes because despite her being 20 she's afraid of spray bottles...

Worthless
Unless you buy this in the Smart Paks, this stuff is worthless. It goes stale quick and loses it effectiveness. I think it would last longer if you would improve the packaging and make the bag resealable or something, but then you'd probably raise the price again. It absolutety did not work. The horse would eat it, but after a week or so, it lost its odor so of course didn't repel the flies.

No noticeable improvement
I tried this product on a horse who is supersensitive to flies, lots of head tossing and running around at pasture. I did not see much change nor could I smell the garlic aroma, which is typical of people who eat a lot of garlic.

Works for the most sensitive horses
I started this supplement right as fly season started. I recently moved barns and this was my first summer at my new place. The new place has a forest right behind his paddock. So, he was getting chewed with bugs. I never had any issues with him and bugs prior to moving so this was a new issue for me to try and figure out. He was getting chewed alive. I had a fly sheet and boots on when it wasn't too hot out. There was a lot of days though where it was too hot to have any fly gear on. So, once this supplement starting kicking in, the bugs instantly decreased and he was a happy camper again (and so was I)! I occasionally use fly spray but not as much! Highly recommend this product. Next summer, I am definitely going to put him on this supplement earlier so we can beat fly season even before it arrives.

10/10!
My welsh pony gets eaten alive all summer! He can’t wear his fly sheet 24/7 due to Michigan’s intense heat and humidity. He’s a fly boot destroyer but thankfully he keeps his mask on. I’ve noticed a big difference in the amount of bugs around him, and a lot less bites on him too!

Smells Great!
I moved to Virginia from Florida and was shocked at how much worse the bugs are here. I already use feed-through fly control, but it didn't seem to be working as well as it did in Florida. I thought I'd try the garlic to see if it kept the bugs from biting as much. The bugs are still there, and they are still biting, but it doesn't seem like as many are actually biting as just buzzing around. I hope that's the case and it isn't me just 'wishing' it that way! That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I will continue to use the product all year to see if the biting subsides. The horses don't lick every bit of it out of their buckets, so I assume they aren't too crazy about the taste.

Yuck!
I bought the Bye Bye Fly hoping it would work. I didn’t even get that far as once my horses smelled it in their food buckets they went to the other side of the stall. It is nothing but dried garlic flakes and it’s odor reeked. They were actually offended by it. I took it out of their buckets, apologized to them. It was a waste of money.

Wish My Horse Would Eat It
I bought this supplement in a SmartPak a while ago, as my pony has extreme reactions to flies and gets very upset about them every summer. He itches himself harshly and causes open sores on his stomach and I was hoping this would work for him. I totally get that horses take a bit to get used to garlic (smell and taste), but he wouldn't eat it, to the point where he started refusing his food. I tried soaking his food in the hopes of hiding it, and even that wore off after a couple of days... I ended up stopping it halfway through and had to bag all of my SmartPaks because the supplement was right in the middle of the strip... I honestly just wish he would have eaten it!

Seems to do the trick!
My OTTB is extremely sensitive to bugs, last year he lost alot of weight because of it! This year, I decided to try something different... I ended up adding Bye Bye Fly to his daily supplements. It is now the middle of July and he seems to be maintaining weight and not horribly irritated by the bugs. I look forward to next month to see how well he does!

FLY RELIEF!!!
I have been using fly sprays, Fly Predators, Simplifly; then Bye Bye Fly...after about two weeks, the flys have virtually disappeared. I don't have a fly problem in the barn but when I turned them out, I put a fly mask on my horses. Now I don't use the fly mask...it's such a relief!

Palatable, smells good
I haven’t seen a huge difference yet, but I’m using this product in combination with Simplifly and something is slightly working. It takes consistency to fully work in my opinion. Still giving 5 stars because it’s easy to give and a good value.

SUPER garlicky
I can only get my horses to eat this supplement if I soak their grain and make it harder to separate the garlic out. It’s super overwhelmingly strong. My mini (even on the small dose) had adverse reactions to it. My Morgan eats it and smells garlicky but I’m not really sure it keeps the bugs away all that well. I’ll continue to feed our for the rest of the summer with the theory that it’s got to be better than nothing.

Great Bug Defense and Picky Eater Approved!
I originally bought the Bye Bye Garlic Flakes in Smartpak form for my two horses to give it a try. One of my boys is super picky so I figured he would turn his nose up at it. I was pleasantly surprised, both boys devoured it and licked their grain pans clean! I decided to buy it in the tub so I can feed it cost effectively all summer long to my three horses (spoiler alert, the mare loved it too!). It took a week or two to start seeing the effects but they are definitely swishing their tails less and have far less swollen and crusty fly and tick bite marks. I don't think it provides 100% protection and some smaller flies don't seem to notice but by and large I think its made a pretty big difference. I will definitely keep feeding it throughout the buggy months! I also want to note that it is super potent, my barn smells like an Italian restaurant in the morning :P

Great for horse food "sifters"
I bought this a few months ago for my horses and like that it is not finely ground. One of my horses will sift out powders and such and leave at the bottom of the bucket. He eats all of these "chips". Both of them gobble them up and it sure does seem to be helping for gnats on the mustang horse and flies on the other dark horse.

Respiratory benefits
This summer and now early fall have been exceptionally rainy, causing many horses with respiratory issues to be suffering. My 30 year old Arab gelding has in the past required steroids to get him through flare ups. I purchased this originally to help keep the gnats off him, which I can't say it did, but he has had no issues with heaves this year. I would recommend this to anyone with a horse with respiratory problems.

Good results
My horse is extra sensitive to insect bites and regularly developed oozing welts and swelling where he was bitten. I ordered this product in July and after about 2 weeks the bad reactions stopped occurring. He still had flies landing on him but no more oozing welts and swollen bites, I was thrilled! I continued use of this product until the weather cooled off and my horse did not show any skin sensitivity to insect bites while on the product. My horse had no problem eating the product and the strong smell did not linger in the stall after he finished eating.
