Using less fly spray!
My poor old mare is a big fly magnet - she and her son can stand next to each other and she will be covered and he won't. I tried the Smartpak "leg up" stuff and that didn't make a difference but on this stuff I find I need to fly spray her about half the amount I was spraying before. Granted she does get a tablespoon twice a day and weighs about 1000 lbs but it has really helped.

My boy loves it!
I put my boy on this to help deter the flies in the summer with good results! I've decided to keep feeding Bye Bye Fly throughout this year's winter too because I've read other benefits on feeding garlic. He also loves the taste!

Bye bye Flakes
I believe this is helping reduce fly bites on my yearling warmblood filly. She is thin skinned and flies & mosquitos cause her to welt all over. Since I have been feeding this her skin looks better and she has stopped throwing herself against the wall due to itching so badly. A win win. Only wish the price was easier on my wallet for daily use.

Works great, shipping took way to long
Started my horses on this year for the first time, I can tell a good difference.
It took way to long to receive my shipment though, several weeks from the date I ordered it.

Great at preventing bug bites!
My horse had terrible hives from bug bites, even with a fly sheet! Ever since I put him on bye bye fly he has hardly any bites, and I’m not having to use as much fly spray.

It Works!
Started my Quarter horse Mare on this a week ago. Flies and bites drastically reduced. She is not a fan of the taste however, but manages to work through it..

Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere.
My mare has been on this supplement for nearly two months with absolutely no change in biting insects. In fact, things have gotten worse (which is likely not due to this supplement, but rather the weather around here) and this supplement is not even remotely helping her.

Actually worked!
My QH gelding HATES flies and seemed to notice them even when other horses didn't. Even with a fly mask and a generous coating of fly spray he'd shake his head and stomp in the paddock and while I was trying to work with him so I decided to try a feed through supplement. I did not have much faith in this product as I have tried many "natural" remedies myself without much help, but I needed to try something for him and figured I'd start with garlic as it was cheaper than the SmartPak Bug-Off pellets. To my amazement it worked! He now stands quietly in his paddock, in the barn, on trail rides, etc. The owners of the farm where I board my horse, and some the other boarders, were so impressed that they decided to start feeding it to all of their horses as well.
I just have one disclaimer, while my horse and 4 others did not seem to notice their edition to their grain, 2 of the horses we gave it to refused to eat it–one so much so that he had to get a brand new feed tub before he started eating his grain again. Just incase your horse is like this, I would suggest buying the smaller bucket first!

Horse won’t eat it
My horse has been on this for over a month, it seems to work a little bit but my horse will NOT eat it! He spits them all out and is usually not a picky horse. I wanted to use these to keep it natural, but might have to find a different alternative!

This Worked Great for My Horses
I decided to try this as all the spray products I have used are worthless after about an hour. Worked fantastic for my two horses. Initially they did not like the garlic but I mixed it in with the small amount of oats they get in the morning and a couple of oat/apple "cookies". Yes they smell like garlic but who cares, there was not a fly on their body or around their eyes at all. They quickly got used to the taste and one starting singing "when the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pie, that's amore". Not sure if the garlic caused that side affect. Try it out, it way less expensive than fly spray. My horses are always outside but do have an open barn they can go into.

Surprisingly palatable but ineffective
My two horses ate this better than I thought they might, but other than making their stalls smell like an Italian restaurant (yum), it had no effect. They were both just as bothered by flies as before.

A fly supplement my horse eats!
I've previously used the Smart Bug Off in pellet form but my horse was slow to eat this. With these garlic flakes however he eats it up just fine!

Very potent smell, even for garlic !
I bought these as part of my war on biting insects on my horses.
Unfortunately the odor was too strong for any of my 4 horses and they took ages, if at all, to eat their grain.

Great for ticks
We use a combination of the bye, bye fly and we have free range chickens and the combo of both seems to be working excellent on cutting down on the tick problem! We have 8 horses on this product, they all eat it and this was the first year in several that we had zero tick borne illnesses.

The garlic may not completely keep the flies away but I feel it does keep the ticks off. My horses are out 24/7 and I did not find any ticks on them this summer.

Best garlic - very few flies!
Smartpak sent me this product after another garlic product was no longer available, and I am so happy they did! This product really works, both of my mares are no longer tortured by flies all day. I am surprised how more comfortable they are and am using much less fly spray. Totally recommend trying this product!

Settles during shipping
I have used garlic to ward off the bugs for the last few years with success. This is the first year I tried garlic as part of my Smart Pak , in an attempt to make things easier. Unfortunately the the quantity of garlic flakes included as a single dose Smart Pak for a 1000 lb. horse is not nearly enough to provide the benefits I have found in the past. The Smart Pak container I ordered for our larger horse which was supposed to contain 1.5 dose came less than a quarter full. Not enough.

Not bad for the price
I bought this to add to my horse's summer smart paks (in addition to electrolytes like I always do). It is hard to tell how much it is working, but she is on semi private night turnout, and when I bring in in the morning she does have some bug bites, but not nearly as many as her turnout buddy. I do see her stomping though, and do have some flies bugging her when we're working in the field or on a trail ride. I would say overall they don't seem to be bothering her quite as bad as last year, but it also might just be the favorable spring weather. Hard to tell if it's from the supplement, but she does seem comfortable, and like I said has less bites than her field mate. She does occasionally sort out flakes and leave them at bottom of her feeder, but will usually clean them up over the next feeding or two.

Great product!
I bought this product a few weeks ago for my Tb gelding who is very itchy and prone to bugs when the seasons change! With this product, I've noticed a huge difference in the bugs staying off of him! He'll definitely be on this for life! and for a picky eater he gobbles it right up!

Great for my Sensitive Mare
I've been using this for 3yrs. I started using it on both my chestnut gelding and grey mare. I didn't notice too big of a difference in either of them with just one scoop a day. However, when I increased the amount to 2 scoops a day I did notice a difference, especially with my grey mare. I've tried the Smartpak stuff and didn't have the same results as this. I also like that it's cheaper.

Not just for bugs!
My TB had had a reoccurring issue with cellulitis every three month, that was driving us both crazy! I did some research and learned that garlic has antibiotic properties... so why not?! So in addition to a weekly betadine/ ivory soap "scrub" he gets 2 scoops of garlic supplement morning and night feeding... he loves it and knock on wood... it seems to be helping!

Good Results-Made Horse Slobber
These seem to work as well as, if not better than, the much pricier Smart Bug-Off Ultra supplements I was using. I wanted something cheaper, so I switched to these. He is mostly stall boarded, and goes out to graze, etc. My horse is not picky, and ate the garlic flakes like everything else. The only issue is they make him slobber like crazy! His stall boards are wet and he just salivates a lot. I am discontinuing them because of the mess from the excess saliva. If he didn't have this issue, I would still use it because it works. So, if you have a fly issue, can't hurt to give this a try.

Works when the bugs aren't too bad
My horse has been on this since April, and the bugs get bad around late June. I haven't seen many flies on his body, but ended up having to buy fly boots since he was still stomping a ton. I do think the flakes work for keeping the large horseflies off the body, and I haven't found any ticks at all. Will probably double the dose next summer and see what happens!

Tasty
I bought garlic when it was recommended for my rescued pony. She loves the taste. I now feed it to my other 5 rescued horses. I started last month and have seen fewer flies on 1 of the horses. I have not sprayed her with any insecticide for several weeks.

BUGS OFF!!!
I have a very bug sensitive mare and until now I have never been able to put her on night turnout due to bugs. Since I started her on Garlic flakes she is finally able to be out at night without being eaten alive by the bugs. Thank you Garlic
