Rated 5 out of 5 by from My horses are now happy campers! I had a friend recommend this product to me for my overly sensitive (and honestly wimpy) gelding. Ever since starting him on Smartbug- Off I can actually enjoy my horse again. He's much happier and not covered in welts. I had tried everything to keep him comfortable in the field and in the arena, nothing worked. I was spending so much money on fly spray that I could have bought stocks in the company! Now all of my horses are on it and have had great success keeping the flies and mosquitoes at bay. Plus it's really nice that I'm not being bit all the time either. A product I will continue to use for many years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I live in Florida and during the summer months flies are really bad.  This product helped my horses feel better with flies.  I noticed that there are not covered with them, even when I fly spray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped with hives. My horse would get hives every summer until I put him on this supplement from April-August.   He never had hives again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work This product made no difference in the amount of flies on my horse. She was stomping, biting and swishing as much as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great product for horses allergic to sprays! Because of a serious allergy to ANY insect spray one of our horses can not even be near any sprayed horses, so both of them are on SmartBug-off and are doing great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't See a Difference I saw no difference while using this product.  It probably doesn't hurt but it didn't seem to help either.  I removed it from my SmartPaks and would not buy it again.  I love all of my other supplements from SmartPak though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff! All seven horses at our barn went on this early in the spring, and stayed on through October. We have a "sister" barn across the road--and the flies over there were awful. Our side? Much better, with the horses being able to stay out almost 24/7 for the summer. We used maybe half as much fly spray as we normally do, and none of the horses had mosquito bites this year. We're all believers now, and plan to use this again next bug season.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My horse won't eat it Unfortunately I couldn't give this a fair shake because neither of my boys would eat it. We tried to hide it or mask the STRONG smell but they wouldn't touch it.Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly awesome I was skeptical trying this. The morning after receiving my new horse from Ky, he was covered in huge bug bite welts even though he had been fly sprayed the night before. I decided to give bug off a try and he has only had ONE bug bite welt since then. The pellets smell disgusting but my horse surprisingly eats them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked for me and my horses First try with this product. Used on both my horses, one was picky eating it the first day, but I dumped it on top that first day. Mixed it in more there after and she hasn't had any issues since. I did not notice a smell from my horses but it really lessened the bother from flies. I unfortunately stopped using this too soon this year. Will definitely put them on this next summer! liked the fact that it also deters flies from laying eggs in the pasture manure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Fly Zone Great product. The horses have no trouble taking these pellets. Great value too.And the smell..... yum garlic :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bug Allergies We have a little paint pony who is very allergic to bugs. We had her on this last year and did not purchase this year...MISTAKE OF OUR LIFE! We are now stocking up for bug season and will be ready when it hits!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hmmm, maybe I moved back to MD and bugs are pretty determined. I started my horse on the Smart Bug off fairly late in the season, but the bugs seemed to land on him anyway. Eventually, they did seem to like him less but I am not sure whether that was because I started using Raw Apple Cider vinegar mixed with water as a fly spray. Anyway, if he tasted less good to the bugs, it took several weeks to see a difference.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to say Hard to say if this worked on my four horses. Still had flies bothering them and I still had to use fly spray. Maybe the flies would have been worse with out?? Price makes it worth a try. Horses ate it well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more saddle bumps Didn't help with the flies (I'm at a boarding barn with 60+ horses), but it did seem to keep mosquitos away. The bigger benefit for me was that he only got one bump in the saddle area. He usually will get half a dozen or so bumps that are like marbles under the skin. This summer he only got one. Coincidence?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MIRACLE WORKER I really can't say enough good things about this product. My horse has been plagued by bugs and this has tremendously helped. Last summer she had open wounds and huge bug bites all over her. I had tried everything and finally took her to my vet to get help. She recommended a feed through fly control supplement. What I love about Smart Bug Off is it's just about the only product that creates a barrier around my horse. The others usually help kill larvae in the manure but do nothing about the current flies. This has really saved Saphira and we're both much happier now!! Thanks Smartpak!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every little bit helps I have a horse who just developed a sensitivity to the bugs here in Ocala over the last year (he's been in FL for 4 yrs now). I've tried everything and now I've added Smart Bug-Off to his regimen. It seems to be helping and he gobbles them right up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helping my mare My mare is allergic to bug bites. She is on antihistamines 2 x day all during bug season. This spring I started her on Bug Off. It is helping her. She isn't having as much itching.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Smart Bug-Off Not sure this product does anything. I ordered it because the flys and nats are so terrible this year, but still needed spray and fly mask and fly sheet when turning out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Saw No Difference I used this product for 3 consecutive months and saw no change whatsoever in the number of flies or fly bites on my horse. He is miserable dealing with these pests and I have tried everything to help him with no avail. This year is the worst I've seen them and I am guessing cooler weather will be the only thing that stops them. But because I saw absolutely no change while using this product, I am removing it from my smartpaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stuff does Work!! I've been using the SmartBug Off for two years now and I am convinced that it really does work. I start in May feeding it and continue through October as our bug season is a long one with them getting vicious by the end of the season. The way the boarding barn is set up, my horse is very close to the muck pile. But he has fewer bugs around him than the horse at the farthest end of the row away from the muck pile. I use bug spray maybe twice a day mostly on his legs as he won't wear fly leggings and apart from that I don't do much else.Feeding Smartbug Off is an additional cost to his normal supplements but it completely offset by not having to use very much fly spray (which if it's effective, is very toxic to everyone) and it helps makes his coat look great and he is happy not having those pesky flies on him all day long.I definitely see a difference between my horse who is on Smartbug Off and everyone else who isn't on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super product I have used this during the summer months for the last couple years, and I really like it. I don't go through as much bug spray trying to keep my gelding happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Tried it out this year for the first time and I was surprised that it really works. My horse has way less bug bites. Didn't even need a fly sheet this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I absolutely LOVE this product! It's amazing! I've used it now for two summers. I have three horses. My Standardbred was always bothered horribly by flies. I don't know why he taste so much better than the other horses, but he had 10 times more flies before using Smart Bugoff. Now he has no flies, or an occasional one fly. The Palomino does just as well as the Standardbred, with no flies or an occasional one fly. The Draft-X has never had the same success record although I've tried giving him 1 1/2 the amount due to his large frame. This summer I didn't bother buying it for him, and he had three times more flies bothering him this year than last. So the product worked for him last year, although not fully. I will put him on it next summer since it's been proven that it does help. I've spoken with other people with heavy muscled horses, and we noticed it works better on hot blood breeds than warm blood breeds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product for Price!! I have a sensitive and thin skinned TB who would get bit by a horse fly and not only have that spot swell to the size of a nickel but she would have thin streams of blood all over!! And since shes a grey she looks like she got in a fight with cactus and lost! I've been using this product since April and I will admit it takes about 6-8 weeks to kick in, but my mare has significantly less bites on her at the end of the day, sometimes even none!! On the bad days I still use fly spray on her underbelly and lower legs just because old habits die hard. But I think this product is worth the price. It's cheaper then the $25 bottle I blast through in a month!!She also has funky skin - I came off the SmartOmega3 since they said the SmartBugOff was the same thing, but I did notice her skin to start to slip just a bit. Not much though. Switching back to SmartOmega3 with the cooler weather though!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not effective This is the first disappointment I have had in a Smart Pak supplement. After feeding it for two months, there was no improvement in keeping flies or other insects off my horse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Part of Fly Control Program Both my girls reside in area with cattle on one side. Fly Predators and manure removal are are used at ranch. Both wear fly masks and are groomed frequently. I view Smart Bug Off as extra insurance to keep flies from causing them to head toss and foot stomp. Flies are greatly reduced at ranch and on my girls. It will continue to be a part of their SmartPak for years to come.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not much difference My Irish Horse is particularly sensitive to bugs ie: will break out in hives, has exaggerated swelling from fly bites... so I was hoping the SmartBug-Off would help but I didn't really see a difference. On days when I didn't use flyspray, he'd end up covered with bumps. maybe the produce works well for certain kinds of bugs, but not the ones that are causing a problem for my horse. Probably I should have waited one more month to try it against the stable flies that come out in August but I didn't think of that and took it of his Smartpak before then. It wasn't working for mosquitoes, horseflies or no-see-ums/midges.
