As riders and online shoppers, we know it can be tough to buy a new bridle or pair of boots without trying them on. That's why we moved the fitting room to your living room (or barn)! From breeches to blankets, if you or your horse can try it on, you can return it, free! Just use the pre-paid return label included in your order within 60 days from the purchase date. And of course, please make sure the item is in like-new condition with original packaging (we said 'fitting room', not 'war room'!).

Why We Love This

Instructions

Instructions for Use:

How to Use:

ThinLine recommends basic ThinLine or Ultra ThinLine pads be used between your saddle and regular saddle pad. Most customers use cotton or wool pads underneath. While you can use ThinLine pads directly on the horses back the lifespan of the pad may be shortened and it voids the warranty. All pads with felt or cotton backing are made to be used alone. Some ThinLine or Ultra ThinLine pads may come with a crease where the pad has been folded to be bagged and shipped. These creases will disappear when warmed to body temperature (1-2 rides). All ThinLine products can be cleaned/washed using the ThinLine Cleaner or the ThinLine Wipes.
ThinLine and Ultra ThinLine:

Can be wiped clean (we like baby wipes), hosed off, soaked, bleached, or even machine washed (some machines may catch tm, so front loader is best) in cold water. Mild soaps and detergents can be used, but please do not put them in the dryer! Hang to dry (which really isn’t necessary either as ThinLine doesn’t absorb water.) What to watch out for: keep your ThinLine away from chemicals such as Show Sheen.

Sheepskin:

- Maintenance – the most important thing to know about sheepskin is that it hates to stay wet. If you ride the sheepskin against the horse or get it thoroughly soaked make sure you dry it as rapidly thorough drying is best. Sheepskin should be dry between rides. Once the pad is dry, a light brushing of the sheepskin with a pet brush will separate the wool fibers and help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.

- Washing – Sheepskin saddle pads should be hand-washed in cold water using a mild soap designed for sheepskin (we recommend Eucalan, Johnson & Johnson, or Ivory Snow Flakes). Or machine wash in a front loader, no agitators against the pad. Remove excess water in the pad by carefully squeezing the water out or placing in washing machine on the spin cycle.

- Drying – Sheepskin saddle pads should be laid flat, sheepskin up, out of the sun preferably under a fan. No dryers or other heating devices. The ThinLine shim may slow drying time so placing absorbent products such as heavy duty paper towels or shami’s such as sham wow inside the pocket will absorb water, speed the drying time and keep your sheepskin in better shape. Don’t over stuff the pockets or the sheepskin may stretch.

Ultra ThinLine Sheepskin Comfort Western Square Pad is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely love this pad! I have major issues with my back and I saw that this pad was supposed to help absorb shock. I can normally ride about 30 minutes before I start hurting. I am not a trail rider but on a recent trip to Texas we laid over at a farm in Mississippi that had trails. We decided to go out and stretch the horses legs on the trail and I was able to ride for 2.5 hours with no paid what so ever! When we got to our show in Houston I warmed up in it and never had any issues. I switched back to my regular pad to run in and I could immediately feel the difference. The only issue I had was it kept slipping under my saddle. Im sure I can fix that with more use and get it "broke in".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully comfortable saddle pad I have been riding in the ThinLine Sheepskin Comfort Western Pad for 2 years now, and I find that it is a pad that provides excellent comfort for a horse. As a professional horseman, I've started a lot of colts with this pad, and without fail they all seemed very comfortable when using this pad. Also, for my advanced horses, I can feel them lift their back and engage with my seat much more when riding with this pad. Overall, it is a wonderful design that allows for flexibility to adjust to a number of different horses, and I would highly recommend you give it a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everything! I have been riding in my thinline western pad for a year now and even after the first ride I noticed a huge difference in my horse's performance as well as my own. I am no longer sore in my back, my horses are all able to stride out more and their performance times are better and better with each ride! The pad fits every single horse I put it on and doesn't roll at all with my treeless saddle. I refuse to ride my horses in anything but a thinline pad whether its the liners, the felt correction pad or the western fleece! These pads are amazing! As well as the bareback pad and comfort seat saver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra ThinLine Sheepskin Western Elaine from ThinLine: We wanted to say we did have an issue with dye releasing on about 15 pads last year. We have used the same sheepskin supplier for more than a decade and this is the first, and hopefully last, issue we have ever had with dye releasing. What this affords us is an opportunity to reach out to all of you and to ask you to please contact SmartPak if there is any issue with any product. We have replaced all of the pads we can find which had this issue. Apparently there was one small batch which did not go through a finishing process and we were not able to spot it upon final inspection. We care only about the happiness of the horses and the satisfaction of riders. Always reach out if you have any issues. We can tell you with absolute confidence none of the pads will discolor your horse or release color. This is, in our opinion, the best product we do for performance and comfort. We hope you will engage with us and give us the opportunity to serve you and your equines.
