Bad rubs
We were replacing our Tough One muzzle that was unavailable, this one looked similar but is not as nice. Our Connemara mare developed 3 rubs after the first night. Even using it every other night didn't help, they just got worse.

Works ok if you do not have a thin-skinned horse
Worked great as a muzzle stayed in place adjustable. Wish it had a clip instead of velcro. Only got to use it for a few days as all of the buckles rubbed my mares face raw. The padding is nice but all of the places where you could adjust with metal pieces just rubbed her to sores after one full day of turn out. Honestly I would return this but I feel bad about having used it already.

Like it but wrong size
I like the style and design especially with the easy breath. Our Fjord Franky is oddly shaped face even as a fjord. He has a big mouth and unfortunately even with a horse size it needed to be bigger as he did get some rubs under his chin. I order the next size up and hopefully it will fit better. We will see.

Velcro wears out very quickly.
The muzzle isn’t bad, just wish they would make them so you can replace the Velcro. After a few times taking it off, Velcro gets weak and doesn’t grip anymore. Poor design. I’m ordering a different brand with a buckle crown piece.

Easy Breath muzzle is a must in the southern heat!
I purchased this grazing muzzle in the spring and it lasted until mid October, which is really good considering how tough my horse is on grazing muzzles! I love the extra large openings for the nostrils which is a must in the heat and humidity of the south. I wish the grazing hole was a little smaller. They figure out very quickly how to eat grass with a muzzle on and the whole point is to slow down the grass intake in order to avoid laminitis so that would be the one thing I’d like to change.

Best fitting muzzle I've found for my arab
This muzzle fits the best of any I've tried. Actually stays on my average size head arab. Draw back is it does make rub marks on the side of the face, so I'm going to line it with fleece.

Kinda hard for them to use
I find that both my horses mash their muzzles at the ground to try to get a sliver of grass. I know that's the idea, but I have a feeling after hours of trying that they are gonna wreck their necks, tmj and atlas. I will slowly introduce the muzzles and hopefully without consequences. The muzzle itself is good. I like the V shape straps, seems to balance it. As for size I got the horse size and on my one draft cross it fits fine. On my mustang, who is 15.2 but has a fine head and the muzzle itself was way too big. At least an inch of space around the entire inside of the muzzle. I tried a pony size, but the muzzle itself fit tight. Maybe someone will come up with on that adjust the actually muzzle.

Not surprised it didn’t work
Bought this for my chubby horse, who is a know escape artist from halters, fly masks, etc. So I wasn’t super disappointed when this didn’t stay on him long. I don’t mind going back out in the field and fastening it back on his stubborn head.
The 3-star rating is reflective of the fact that the velcro ends of all the halter connections are already falling apart, despite it primarily sitting unused in his field since receiving it three weeks ago.

Great but big!
I love the design of this muzzle, and the material it is made of seems comfy. However, if your in between sizes, go smaller! I got the horse sized for my big nosed Fjord, and it was HUGE. Like massive. I had to return it, and am waiting for pony size to be restocked so I can try that size.

The Best Out There!
I've tried several brands of grazing muzzles, & this one is the best. Lots of adjustability, surprisingly lightweight, and my horses don't sound like Darth Vader breathing!
If a horse has never worn one before, you may want to wash it thoroughly before the first use (they do start off smelling like rubber), and maybe dab a bit of molasses around the hole edges.

Grazing Muzzle
Muzzle works great. First time my horse had one and did not seem stressed. Worked well to keep overeating in thickly grass pastures. I do leave it off on very hot humid summer days with temperature in high 90's to avoid possible breathing issues. Did not experience any but did so just as precaution since my first use of grazing muzzle also.

Love the muzzle
I bought 2 muzzles for 2 of my horses. Love the flexibility of them. Horses can still eat grass but not as much and a lot slower. I can still give treats in the side when doing night check.

Great features, but could use stronger velcro
Great mask, gives a lot of breathing room so it isn't as stuffy as some other styles. Very lightweight and has a good amount of padding. It did rub my mare some on her jawline, but covered that area with duct tape and it hasn't been an issue since.. My only complaint is that it could use some stronger velcro. The outside gets rubbed loose and then gets dirt/grass in it easily making it easier for some horses to get it off.. The older version of this had a clip for the throat latch piece but this style only has velcro for crown and throat latch. Otherwise it's great! My mare is a 15.1 hand Rocky Mountain who is a very easy keeper. She doesn't try very hard to get the mask off and does well in it. She did get it off one day while rolling, but otherwise no issues. Fits over her Cashel fly mask very well.

Fantastic Grazing Muzzle
Purchased this muzzle to help our mare drop a few pounds as the spring grass came in. It fits her very well, doesn't rub and she has behaved just fine with it on. No attempts by her to work it off. Definitely recommend!

Love the new padding
I bought this a few weeks ago, but have used them on my mare for several seasons. I really like the muzzle, and it is even better now with built in padding.

Great features
I bought this to help my gelding have some turn out time. He is typically a master escape artist for anything from fly masks to blankets but he hasn't managed to get this muzzle off yet so I am very happy with it

So far, the best muzzle
No muzzle is perfect. No muzzle will last forever. This latest model of the Tough One comes close. The fit is good thanks to more adjustment possibilities and the new nose straps keep it in place better now. The materials and construction are of good quality. Time will tell.

Stays on my monster!!
My Problem Child is prone to tantrums, fits, and rubbing muzzles off every available surface. Usually takes him all of 5 minutes to rub off the traditional muzzles... the combo of the front straps on this AND the velcro throatlatch (rather than snap) are the winners!! My sweet monster had figured out how to rub the side of his face on the no-climb fence, which would attach the *snap* to the fence giving him great leverage to not only pull off the muzzle but also pull the fence off the posts.... win win for the jerk!! With this new design, some may hate the velcro throatlatch, but the lack of snaps means it stays ON my jerk and he's resigned himself to grass-managed pasture ;). Only downsides.... nylon seems too slick and the "sliders" to adjust seem to move too easily. Also, the straps at the front of the nose are fraying and pulling chunks off the neoprene nose, but I attribute that to his aggressive attempts to remove and now that he's (mostly) resigned himself to defeat should be OK :)

This works!
Purchased less than a month ago for my very easy keeping pony. Fabio is the destroyer of muzzles! I like the metal hardware on the adjustment sliders, as well as the amount of adjustment available in this grazing muzzle. I had concerns, initially, with the velcro crown, but these have been silenced. The velcro is very sticky and well placed when adjusted properly.
So far, Fabio The Destroyer has not been able to break the adjusters, free himself from the velcro crown, or dislodge the muzzle off of his nose. The design on this muzzle was made for ponies like him. Fabio has tried to rub off this muzzle on every available surface, including his friends, and he has failed. He's already losing some needed weight even with several hours turned out each day. Totally recommend for ponies like Fabio the Destroyer.

Cost Effective and Holds Up
I've been using this brand on my mare for a couple years now and what I like this muzzle is it gets the job done without being heavy and closterphobic (sp?). She tolerates this muzzle whereas the Best Friend is too much and she throws fits about it.

Needs throatlatch snap
Once I had local tack shop add a throatlatch snap, I was happier with the product. Also had the shop add the nose straps to the basic model, which I used previously. The nose straps have “almost” stopped my horse from getting it remove! Please have this model made in orange for ease in finding in the pasture.

Terrible
I am highly disappointed in this Tough1 product. It is very poorly made. Velcro holds the sizes. The sliding adjusters loosen on the slick nylon. I use Tough1 products often and found this is a complete waste of money. It seems a people that have no experience with horses in turn out designed and approved this item. I will stick with the grazing muzzle that I attack to my own breakaway and use vet wrap to attach the nose piece to the muzzle. I have purchased four different types of grazing muzzles, this is the absolute worst.

This muzzle works well
This muzzle works well. It's easy to put on the horse, I loosely fasten the velcro strap that goes over the poll so it slides over the ears and then tighten it afterwards. I hold the muzzle basket in one hand with the strap that goes over the ears dangling forward, then I place the nose and mouth in the basket and raise the strap over the poll and then tighten the velcro. Then I make sure no straps are twisted and everything is comfortable. It's very easy to do. I bought oversize for my two horses, who both have large heads. They are 16-3 hds and 1300-1500 pounds, and whenever I buy halters or bridles they are inbetween regular size and draft horse size, so I bought the oversize muzzles. The muzzle-basket doesn't rub them and appears to be a good fit. The halter or headstall portion of the muzzle is slightly large on them, I fastened the velcro areas and buckles as tightly as possible, except the jowl strap. There's a strap behind the chin area that is too long and it's on the shortest setting, it holds the basket onto the jowl strap, and I wish I could make it shorter. The horses needed time to adjust to the idea of a muzzle, and how to use it. I taught them by pulling some grass and sticking it in the hole so they understood. My draft-X adjusted quickly to wearing it, but he got it off once so I tightened the jowl velcro piece and it hasn't came off since. The other horse took a week, she resisted to putting it on but she's fine now. At first she rubbed it on the fence and a strap had to be reattached with needle and thread - a quick and easy repair for me - and she also loosened the velcro strap but these muzzles have strong velcro that's held together with a front and back portion - like a sandwich - so it's double-protected to keep the muzzle on. After I take off the muzzles, I rinse just the basket to keep it clean and hang them to dry for the next day.

mostly nice features
I like the extra support for the basket and the padding on the straps. What I don't like is it is velcro closure instead of the clip (snap). Velcro is nice for fit adjustments, but we found the we like the ease of putting it on and taking off that the clip on the original Easy Breathe muzzle has. I would stick with the Original rather than the Deluxe if we need another

Caused rubbing :(
I bought this for my 5 year old mare, but within 2 weeks the boarding stable she's at told me she was refusing to wear it. On closer inspection we discovered what looked like painful rubs on her chin. The search continues...

Less than 48 hours and my horse's face was torn up
I bought this based on the good reviews that this would be a good grazing muzzle. I worried that the straps would rub and the rubber of the muzzle would irritate but didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. I was pretty upset to find that after BARELY 24 hours, he had sores on his poll, along his cheeks and under his chin. Any more loose and he could get it off, any tighter and it would clearly be too tight. He's not an overly large-headed horse, either. Pretty bummed, but since I took the tag off I assume I can't return it. Ah well, can't win them all.
