New Design
I just bought one about 3 weeks ago, when I received the muzzle it did not look like the picture. The new design has a much wider top part, it is bulky and much heavier than the old design. I do not like it at all. They need to go back to the old design!!

My mare eats through the breathing holes
It's decently well made, is comfortable doesn't rub. However, my mare figured out how to eat through the breathing holes of the muzzle and started gaining weight really fast. Also, it doesn't seem particularly tough. I've had it for a couple months and it's tore and worn in some places already. Granted, my mare is very smart and very determined so I'm just she's quite hard on it. So you might not have the same problems as me.

Lighter weight Easier breathing
With holes at the nostrils, this really does look like it it more comfortable to breathe thru. I have used this brand for years, and found 2 downsides. 1. The material around the hole quickly wears through so the hole is larger. You need to replace the muzzle or get an insert with smaller hole. 2. The cob size is now larger than it was originally making it big on my Arab and large pony, while the pony size is too small for them.

Very sturdy
This muzzle, with a snug fitting safety halter is the only thing that stays on my mares head, so that’s excellent. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the grazing hole is too big, and it is very heavy.

Easy to use
I love that this muzzle is easy to install and had double Velcro for placement. It has wider spacing than my horses last muzzle so it will help her breath easier in the summer. It does have a rectangle hole and not a round one. I prefer the round holes just because they are a tad smaller and my horse can work a muzzle like nobodies business. Overall, I like it, easy to use and light weight.

Good muzzle
I like this muzzle except for one thing. It needs to have an attachment on the front. There are three and it needs a fourth. I still find it to be the best for the money. I take Vetrap and use it to keep the front of the muzzle from allowing my horse to get his nose over the top and eat grass. I have found that the all-in-one muzzle is not sized the same as this one. That muzzle runs much too large! Horse size would fit a draft!

Love this muzzle
My fat Arabian has worn this brand the last 3 summers. I bought it because of the bigger breathing holes than the leading brand. I do add a string to tie it to her noseband, otherwise it hangs down, I wish they would address this since other people have mentioned it. It holds up well and the price is great.

Works with modifications
Ive had this muzzle for a couple of weeks now for my fatty, and it does its job, however he has started to get it off his nose and has been chewing on it and getting it stuck in his mouth. I added some hay twine to the nose band/top of the muzzle to try to hold it up, so we will see if that works (hopefully it does)... if not i don't see it holding up if he is going to be chewing it and getting it stuck in his mouth. Hopefully it doesn't tear his teeth up.... Maybe had i gotten the model that has the face straps included it would work better, but he has sensitive skin so i needed to add the sheep skin....
Quality wise, its great, he breathes very easily in it and it fits around his nose wonderfully.

Works great with minor adjustment
This has held up well for a month so far and fits both horses I bought it for. I did add a soft leather tie to the front so that the horse could not houdini out of the muzzle and so far they have not been able to get out of it. They breath well, have no sores, and have figured out how to graze with it.

Great for a mouthy youngster
I'm not using this for grazing, but instead put in on my mouthy young horse as he was determined to constantly nip at my older gelding while being ponied, despite many training efforts; his mouth is his energy outlet. It has worked wonderfully, he was a bit puzzled initially, but accepted it quickly & we are all SO much happier, riding along relaxed. He can still entertain himself by wiggling his lip against the inside. The big nostril openings were important to me, as this horse was certain I was trying to suffocate him to death when I tried a fly mask with a nose flap on him. :/ The muzzle itself is a bit heavy, but horse is a big-headed, 16.2 5 y.o. TB so not bad for him. His nose does take up the entire muzzle, so it wouldn't fit a draft-sized thing. I took advice from some other reviewers & added 2 more velcro loops on the top of the nose, which help it stay in place much better. No rubs so far on sensitive guy, but he's only wearing it for ~1.5 - 2 hrs. Feels sturdy.

Works great ,but.
Goes on easy,my horses haven’t destroyed them, but they have tried. The only thing it needs is 2fasteners in the front to attach to the halter, had to use zip ties on it. They can get the muzzle down under their chin if u don’t attach it there some how. good quality. Stands up to the punishment of fussy mares!

Dissapointed
After 4 days of grazing with this muzzle on, our mare has started to chew through the opening and enlarge it. ???She should have a good 2 by 2 " hole within the week. This is the same as last year, only the masks from last year lasted the summer season, so we bought this years. But it wont last. Wouldnt buy again.
The quality of the product is good, EXCEPT for the important part, the material
for the hole is weak...rendering it useless.

Breathable construction
I bought this muzzle for my overweight female donkey. I had read other reviews about the ability to pull it off because of no top strap, so I improvised with a shoelace. She's not happy, but it has slowed her down some.

Does not work!
I bought two of these for my mares and neither will stay on longer than five minutes. Both horses can get the muzzle under their jaw and eat easily. I bought them because I thought they looked like they would allow more air flow and be less hot during the summer but have given up after just a week of trying everything possible to get them to stay in place!

Things aren't being destroyed!
I got this for my gelding when riding in the trailer because he can't keep his mouth off of anything in there and has been working on ripping things apart inside. I also have used it when he is tied up so he can't chew on the tie rail or anything else that is in his reach. So far it has worked great. He doesn't like wearing it, obviously, but I love it since it's doing its job!

Don’t need 2 halters
I had to use an extra halter when I had the ez breath model that has an attached halter, because my horse would pull it right off. The 2 halter system was too heavy and complicated. This muzzle set up is much simpler and does not fall off.

Good muzzle except....
One thing wrong is that my horse has been able to get his nose out of the front because there is no attachment at that point. I am resourceful though. I took a heavy duty zip tie and used it to attach the front of muzzle to his halter. Covered it with some Co Flex so the zip tie wouldn't dig in to his nose. Works very well now! Also, the velcro doesn't stay attached so I cut those pieces off and used zip ties there too!

Needs 4th attachment
This muzzle was a breeze to attach to the halter, but I didn't realize that there was no way to attach it to the noseband in the front so it was rather loose and floppy even adjusted as tightly as it could be without being smashed up on Augie's nose. Well, it took him about 30 minutes to rub his face on the ground enough to pull it over his nose and get it into his mouth. Fortunately, it didn't cut his mouth but there was no way I was going to use it like this. I solved the problem by using two soft velcro plant ties to fashion that 4th attachment to the noseband and then it worked like a charm. I do like the large "nose holes" and larger opening at the bottom of this muzzle, but feel that it should have been workable right out of the box.

Junk!
There is no attachment on the front of the muzzle. My horse popped it off and had it jammed into his mouth. Luckily I hadn't left him unattended for long.

Works
With help from a fellow field mate, my gelding learned to get the one piece halter off. I had to switch to the attachment. No more missing halter when he's brought in. Yay! One thing: I had to tape the velcro because it started to separate as grass/dirt got stuck between.

Hurray!
This item was purchased for a 13 yr. old quarterhorse with no prior muzzle experience, due to a mild case of laminitis last spring. This guy is stubborn, so we wanted a muzzle that would not inhibit his breathing and would allow a slightly larger grazing hole, a muzzle that doesn't stay on isn't helpful. I was thrilled when I found this muzzle on line. With some additional research on how to fit and introduce a muzzle, get those beet treats, we had a successful first day. There have been no issues with grazing or drinking, no battles with putting it on, and my daughter has been able to easily make adjustments, with it on him. I can't vouch for wear as he has only had this for three weeks, but I couldn't be happier with our experience.

good product
I bought this for my new mare because she was having such a hard time with the first muzzle I got her. The rectangeler opening on the bottom, although not smaller, was easier for her to use, so it makes her happier. The only thing I had a problem with was the front of the muzzle hung low so I added a strap to the front and it is perfect

Easy Breathe -- the best grazing muzzle
Very easy to fit to a halter and the horse can graze and drink water easily. The only problem is that when horses do what horses do the muzzle can dislodge. So, I never leave it on if I will be away for an extended period.

Could be a great muzzle, but...
I loved the idea of this muzzle. The nose holes make it easy for my horse to breathe, and he did not seemed bothered to wear it. The problem is, that he worse it for months and months but did not lose weight because the grazing hole is too large. If they made the hole half the size, it would be a 5 star product, and I would give it another try.

great muzzle
This is the best muzzle I have found to date. attached it to a breakaway halter for safety. My horse can breathe easier and can actual get some grass to graze. muzzle fit in our Ritchie waterers. I had to add some bailing twine to keep him from slipping the muzzle off over his nose

Perfect to help a horse lose weight
I bought this for my mare who was diagnosed with laminitis and has to lose 150lbs. It fits pretty loose so she can breathe and get a drink. She's still learning how to work it so she can get grass. Not good for long grass as it flatttens it when they put their head down. Be aware, as they learn they may rub and cause a raw spot on their nose. Trying to figure out a cushion to help with that.
