So I gave my dog half of it and he was begged for the rest if it because he loved it so much. Plus it's helpful that it was so easy to make the meal and definitely better for his health than dry foods.

Mixed feelings

And it was extremely easy to make. But honestly, it just didn’t look appealing and he wasn’t a fan. It was far too mushy, and didn’t give that “real food” feel I wanted.

I love the idea of this food and that it does not contain harmful ingredients for my pup, but I expected the consistency to be way different than it turned out after adding water and waiting a few minutes. Once it thickens up, it turns into a big pile of slop that is very close to oatmeal's consistency. I was expecting it to come out less soupy so this was disappointing, as well as not being able to see any chunks of meat and having an unpleasant, very pungent smell. I used it as a topper for my dog and of course he ate the whole bowl with no complaints, but I would never feed this to my dog on its own as my dog is almost 90 pounds and loves chewing through meat as opposed to eating very expensive porridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried other dehydrated dog food before but never, The Honest Kitchen Dehydrated Whole Grain Chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much my picky Boston Terrier liked it! It is a much more healthier option than giving them kibble and/or canned dog food. It is easy to store in the refrigerator if making more than one serving at a time for convenience. I also like how there’s a variety of different flavors and protein. I like to mix it up so she doesn’t get bored of the same flavor. The ingredients are better than good, it’s probably the best type of food you could give your dog. There are no unnecessary fillers or by products you see in a lot of dog foods. It’s a wonderful change and I can already see that it is agreeing with my Bella’s sensitive digestive system. I did receive this for free in exchange for an honest review. Overall I would definitely recommend The Honest Kitchen Dehydrated Whole Grain Chicken and any other varieties of flavors from this brand.
