Does the trick
This works great. My whole barn has asked to use it. Great little tool to have in your tack box. My only complaint is that the silver end piece fell off after its 5th use. I'll have to glue it back on. Otherwise, a great buy.

well worth it
This tape measure is well made and a must to have on hand. My Quarter was looking bloated, so we were able to measure his weight and indeed he had gained weight quickly. We were able to diagnose him with tape worms, and solve the problem. We again used the weight measure to monitor his loss from the shedding, and then his re-weight gain back to his healthy weight. Excellent product, will buy a few more just to have on hand.

Gets the job done
This is a little flimsy, and I wish it were waterproof. However, it gets the job done and is good for the purpose I use it for (for judging my horse's weight periodically, and for making sure he gets the correct dosage of wormer).

I don't think it's very accurate but then again I don't think any weight tape is. It gives a general idea. They aren't made to last but again neither is any other one.

Great to have!
I bought this smartpak weight tape along with the smartpak sure scoop. This weight tape helped me get a pretty good idea of both my horse and pony's weight. Buying the sure scoop along with it now helps me use the weight measurement determined from the weight tape to give my horses the proper amount of feed. since the bags determine feed rations by pounds not quarts as in most scoops, the sure scoop is measured in pounds so it makes feeding easier and you can feel more confident knowing that your horse is getting exactly the amount of feed needed. The weight tape also gives you a height measurement, good to have 2 in one. I would definetly recommend but buyign the sure scoop in conjuction with the weight tape is the best bet!

Not quite long enough
I bought this mostly to monitor my pregnant mare's weight, and she's going to outgrow this tape very soon (maybe she already has, I haven't checked in a few weeks). I don't know if it's worth trying to find a draft size tape to use on her. But for your average, non-pregnant horse, this should do the trick.

Honestly, it's just not good
This tape is functional...that's about the only good thing I can say about it. It's paper with a wax coating, it can rip very easily. The numbers on the weight side are small and blurry. The metal tabs at the ends come off. I'd really like to give this product a better review, but I was pretty dissaponted. It's just not up to my expected "smartpak" standards.

Poor Quality Tape
The tape is not vinyl, it is mostly paper. One of the small silver ends came off immediately when I opened it. It does measure, and that's why I bought it, but the quality is poor.

Weight Tape Review
I found it to be a little hard to read. The printing used for the instructions on how to use the tape were blurry and smeared. The type was small also. The stitching on the side obscurred the already hard to read instructions. Quality could be improved. The height measure side was fine.

Old tape is 30+ years old
I have had to purchase a new tape after about 30+ years. The old one moved with my daughter and her horses, still in great shape. The tape is very accurate, has a little bigger numbers so it is easier to read. This poor tape has been moved from drawer to drawer, buckets , tack boxes ect. Has not been chewed on yet ! It was a great buy then and now. The material is alittle different on the new tape but I am sure it will last for many years .
