Bad stitching
Meh, so I don’t like writing bad reviews and Im generally happy with smartpak brand stuff. I have had this halter for a little while now though it doesn’t get used daily. I noticed the stitching is already coming undone in places and the leather is thin and stretched looking on one side by the cheek hardware. I have the triple stitch horse size that has been used and abused and despite lack of care over the years, still feels and looks better than this one does in fairly new shape. This is getting downgraded to being a halter for my yearling and we ordered the padded leather halter for the original intended pony, which seems to be a better halter. I will keep using this one but im glad I got it on sale because I don’t anticipate it lasting over a year and recommend just waiting until they have a sale going on and opt for one of their other style halters. Even though I only paid around $48ish, sucks knowing I have far cheaper halters that are going on at least 10 years and still strong. Leaving two stars because I have seen worse leather quality and I like Smartpak as a company. I included a picture of my older (years old) triple stitch halter that has been left in hot humid barns and has gotten moldy and pulled back on, and it still looks nicer than this halter.

Mini leather halter
I have purchased several Smartpak soft leather halters over the past several years. We use them for foals on up and one for a mini donkey. They are comfortable and last a good amount of time. They are exposed to all sorts of weather in Colorado and do well I definitely recommend this halter.

Great for our medium pony!
Before we found this halter, we had a very hard time finding a leather halter to fit our medium pony. The option of mini, small or large pony sizes for this halter is fantastic. The large pony size fits our medium pony perfectly, and there is room for adjustment in the nose band, which helps a lot with fit. We had the name plate added. The name plate was perfectly installed and looks fantastic. Excellent quality for the price.

It’s ok, not worth the price, but looks pretty.
Just received my mini halter with nameplate. The halter fits well and looks nice, however, the leather is very cheap. Not worth what I paid for. I’m use to high quality like Walsh or Blue Ribbon products. The leather is thin and most likely would stretch out if pulled back on. I wouldn’t buy again.

I love this halter!
I bought this mini leather halter for my miniature donkey, and had it engraved for Christmas, because what little donkey wouldn't want to have an engraved leather halter! It is beautiful quality, and I love that you put the plate ON the halter. The size guide was perfect. Thank you for your outstanding products.
