Good value
This is exactly what I was looking for: a basic noise-reducing ear bonnet that doesn't break the bank. My horse doesn't need it every ride, and I also tend to not use it if it's above 85 degrees out -- as other reviewers have noted, it does get warm. (If I needed to use one every time I rode, it would be worth investing in a lighter one.) But for what I need it for -- to keep in my tack trunk for those days when it seems like some noise muffling would be helpful -- it is great.

Does the job
This has helped my horse a lot with noise distractions and really keeps him focused on his job. He hasn’t spooked since wearing this bonnet. He is 16.1 ottb and it fits him perfect. It does cause him to sweat a lot because it’s quite thick. Really happy with this bonnet.

Ears a bit too small
I bought this a few months ago. The quality is good and it works well. My horse is noticeably less spooky when wearing it and greatly prefers it to ear plugs (though ear plugs work a bit better in my opinion). However, the ears on the bonnet were too small for my horse’s oversized ears. As a result, it didn’t lay flat on his head like it should have and I had to stop several times a ride to reach up and fix it. The schockemoehle bonnet fit better and has a bit of left over space to spare in the ears.

Might be a nice bonnet, If you ever receive it
As a long time SmartPak customer, I was excited to see that SmartPak had finally created a budget-friendly silent ear bonnet. However, over a week after I placed my order, I noticed that my ear bonnet had been marked as "delayed". After several calls back and forth with customer service and being told that it had shipped but there was no tracking information, I was finally told that it was out of stock. This is unfortunately becoming a common scenario with SmartPak... I place an order before getting ready to leave for a show/ clinic, and then a few days before I'm suppossed to leave, I find out that the item is out of stock. No notification, no communication. SmartPak used to win my business because of their excellent customer service, but obviously it's not a priority anymore. The people are perfectly friendly, but definitely don't make customer retention a priority.

Nice quality bonnet
My mare goes great in a silent ear bonnet--it really cuts down on minor distractions. This appeared to be a nice one for a much better price than others on the market. Unfortunately the ears were just a little too small (she has HUGE ears), so I'm sticking with the Shockemohle--but I would recommend this one for any horse with normal sized ears!

Works well, fits well
I bought this because my horse HATES having earplugs put in and out of his right ear, but he is pretty noise reactive, so I like to use them. I wasn't sure how much noise it would cancel, but after using it I have to say that I think it actually deadens the sound just as well as ear plugs. I was also worried about the fit, but it fits well. My horse is a 16.3 hand OTTB with a normal "horse" size head for bridles, fly masks, etc. But he has bigger than usual ears. The bonnet fits him very well and stays secure under my bridle when riding. Best of all, he lets me put in on and off with no fuss (unlike the earplugs). Really happy with this bonnet!

Nice bonnet
So far so good! Did my own string for it to keep it in place, but it would probably do just as well without.

Works well to keep distractions down
My horse is easily distracted by sounds or wind or flies so this bonnet is great. I have used it twice so far and the neoprene ears help dampen random noises without the hassle of ear plugs, which just make my horse shake his head constantly. This fits my horse's head better than the Schockemohle version.
