Love them (with 1 modification)!
These fly boots are great, but I did a DIY modification that I think improves them. They come with an elasticized top and bottom. IMO, having elastic at the top is a bad design and they don't need it. I used a seam ripper and took the elastic off the top. I wish they came that way.

doesn’t stay up
i bought these boots about a month or two ago and only recently started using them. within the 2 weeks of daily use they have slipped down onto the middle of my horse’s tendon and it caused rubbing. i was using these to stop stomping to hopefully help my horse heal better from her check ligament injury, but once these boots slipped down they made her injured leg blow up and get hot (note that they were not put on super tight). if these boots were to actually stay up, they would be a super good product.

Didn’t Last!
Despite the so-so reviews I thought I’d give these a try as SmartPak brand merchandise doesn’t usually let me down. I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to on these, because these didn’t even last 2 months, without daily use even. The stitching is already coming out on multiple boots and the elastic is already stretched out and the boots falling down. I bought 4 sets, 2 sets for 2 different horses and for how expensive it was to get 4 sets, I’m definitely disappointed in these boots. My older guy gets his sillies out first thing then eats and naps the rest of the day. My pony does nothing but eat so they aren’t hard on these in any way shape or form, yet they still didn’t last. SmartPak needs to go back to the drawing board on these. Concept is great, but execution needs improvement.

Good boot, but not for me
I decided to try these since the tops/bottoms are not rubber. I didn't realize there is a metal stay to hold the boot upright rather than webbing like the other brand I'd been using. I came to the barn one eveing to find my horse had scrunched the boot down around his pastern, and he's now been swollen for a few days, thanks to the metal stay. I have no way of knowing how long it'd been down around his pastern because I skipped a day going to the barn. I normally love SmartPak products, but this was a fail for me.

Effective, light and airy
My horse has had some persistent sores on his fetlocks, and the flies were tormenting him. This fit over his bandages and, later, the healing areas, keeping flies and most dirt out while permitting plenty of air to reach his legs. They stay in place, do not collapse, and have stood up to many trips thru the washing machine. The best we have found for the purpose! And they are big enough to accommodate his big Friesian ankles.

Didn’t hold up
I was happy to buy the oversized in these boots because the shoo fly boots only go up to large and they are too small for my large warm blood. But within a week one was torn, as they do not stay on well.

Love the fit !
I bought the oversize for my draft and they fit so much better than any other fly boot . I do not know if they will hold up because she is super mellow out in her private run . They are very vibrant in color and wash and dry within minutes ! I love them more than any fly boot I have ever purchased in the past . They stand upright and have not fallen down not even once which is a huge plus for my horse . I have plans to buy three more sets due to the fact it is very hard trying to find draft size fly boots that will actually work . Thanks again Smart Pak for another great product . Please do not ever stop making these . FYI , I do not have to use fly spray at all on her legs like I did with the Kensington fly boots . Also , they never over heat my horses legs .

Love them!!!
I wish I had bought these sooner! I absolutely love them! My horse has had hoof crack issues and I was afraid with all the stomping would cause more problems so these fly boots help my horse from stomping! They are light and airy, and my horse has not had sweat from them at all. I love how tough the mesh is, I have a goat that loves to play with my horses’ gear and these fly boots have held up so far.

Poor construction
I'm very disappointed in these boots. I've always been happy with Smartpak quality and durability but these don't hold up to turn out. They didn't stay up even though they were the correct size and I adjusted them daily. Lasted about a month.

Stays put!
I bought hi-vis orange color so if our horse somehow broke free of them, we would be able to find them in the giant pasture. It's been a couple of weeks now and they've all stayed on and our horse doesn't seem to even notice them, so they must be comfy enough for him. They have super strong velcro from top to bottom and they are easy to get on and off.

Love them!
The fit is great. The boots are stiff enough to stay up, but bubble out so they don’t rub anywhere. The fabric is light and breathable so they don’t get hot. Horses are hardly stomping at bugs and they don’t mind the boots at all.

My mare seems much more relaxed grazing with these fly wraps. No more constant stomping to get the flies off. Very lightweight yet durable. So easy to hose off and quick to dry.

Extra Charges Made on my card after payment
Boots seem ok, a little flimsy and did not have the edges I expected. Worst part was the website-order was messed up so I was charged shipping, then I got a random extra charge from Smartpak that has not been fixed even after calling. Not satisfied and unhappy with this order.

These Fly Boots Work!
I have not had these long, but so far they are the best fly boots I've bought. My horse always manages to rip straps off of other fly boots. These are strong, easy to put on, stand up well on their own, and are very breathable. He is stomping at the flies much less, and they should keep his legs cool this summer in CA.

These boots are really easy to use and priced well, but they have not held up at all. Within a few weeks, my horse had ripped the Velcro and the tops of the boots. They're already unusable for next season.

Sag and ripped after a week of use
I bought these a few weeks ago since the brand other fly boots I was using wore out. They seemed like really nice quality out of the package. But after a week they sag down a ton even with the reinforcement. And also while my horse was standing in a stall she managed to rip one completely making it unusable. Sad to say I would not recommend these :(

safety design flaw
I loved these fly boots for about 2 months for being cool and staying up. However over time as they lost their shape one of the plastic inserts that keeps them upright cut through the mesh material on the inside exposing a extremely sharp (knifelike) thin end. These should be redesigned so that minimally the end of the plastic is blunted and/or a the pocket they are in is of much heavier material...like the material on the outside of the pocket where it says smartpak, or SP should find another way for them to hold their shape.

I bought these a couple of months the ago and really liked them. They stayed on and up at first. They started to stretch out and now they slide right off of my horses leg with the velcro still closed. Very disappointed.

Love these fly boots!
I have used almost every brand of fly boots for my mares white legs. These are by far my favorite. Others I have stressed about the random rain showers and then when they get wet causing her rubs and fungus. These are so breathable and light! The only reason it’s not five stars is because after a week or two they become loose and don’t stay up as well and require to be put back correctly every day.

Very durable and light
I have tried many different types of fly boots, and these are hands down the best. I leave them on all season, so lightweight they dry quickly if it rains and they stay UP. They usually last one summer unless the horse destroys them.
