What’s not to like
Well made holds its shape, and is staying on better than most. I had to trim the fringes and singe with a lighter to keep from fraying but it’s held up great so far. Bought more for the rest of my herd

Great Fly Mask
I love this fly mask for my horse. He has a white blaze and is sun sensitive. Those full nose mesh fly masks get dirty fast, however this fly mask is able to cover his nose and stay relatively clean. My horse is very happy with this fly mask. He enjoys bobbing his head up and down to use the tassels to get the flies off his nose. Very happy with this product.

I bought this Shires fly mask in 2018. This was taken May 9, 2019. Love the double Velcro straps under the face. always nice and secure. The light elastic over the pole keeps this mask on even when my mare decides to roll. Going on our third season.

THE BEST
My Arab has terrible sweet itch and can destroy a fly mask in no time. Bought one of these this year and it still looks almost new. I love the way the net has enough stiffness to stay away from his eyes. The fringe was a little two long, but just cut the ends off and sealed with fray check sewing glue. Really great product.

XLarge fits a standard size mule
I tried this on our 15 hand mule that can usually wear horse size halters and bridles. He is about 1200 pounds. The XLarge size fits his ears nicely, and is a nice fit for his face as well. I like the design, especially the sturdy velcro closures and the roomy mesh around the eyes.

Best fly mask on the market for my Arabians
I purchased one of these masks last year and it was lost in one of my pastures within hours of putting it on. I found it in the fall and stored it. I put it on a mare a couple of months ago and it has not come off, is in perfect shape and the lucky mare loves it. My other mares are wearing different masks that don't fit properly, are rough feeling, have less protection, let flies underneath, rip at the eye darts, etc. I purchased more Shire's w/ears/nose trim in Cob size and my other mares are noticeably much more comfortable. Now they too can keep the mask on all night. There is nothing not to like about this mask including the fit!

A well made cute fly mask
I bought this fly mask for my totally blind mare we adopted from a rescue (blind from neglect). All of her other fly masks have been heavy and not flexible. This one is lightweight, and appears very comfortable. Very well made and durable. She dosen't mind the fringes at all, and they do keep the bugs off. When she moves, the fringes also scare the bugs away from around that area. I highly recommend this mask, and having the ears covered is a plus. We have lots of biting flies in sand country here, so we look for ways to help the horses.

Love the concept
I bought one last year fight about the time Smartpak started carrying them. The fringe started falling off in a couple of weeks due to faulty stitching. The one I bought the year prior is still just fine. No idea why there's such a quality discrepancy.

Durable
I bought this mask last year after a much rougher mask rubbed my horses eyelid raw. I liked the fine mesh feature and I liked the nose fringe; sadly my horses herd mates also like the fringe and used it to pull his mask off almost everyday. I cut the fringe off about 2 weeks after I got it and this stopped his friends fun.
This is our second year using the mask and so far it has held up really well. It does tend to make his forehead a bit sweaty but most masks do that. I bought another shires mask recently with the removable nose piece so I can have a spare and can rotate them around for washing or if one gets lost in the field.
So far I really like and would recommend this mask.

Love Love Love this mask
My horse was constantly tossing his head because of the flies. I had tried a full face mask but it rubbed his nose which he also hated. I was worried the fringes would bother him too but they do not at all. The fringes are a little stiff at first but do loosen up so they fall away from his nostrils. This awesome fly mask has cut his head tossing by at least 90% if not more.

Love the fringe
This should be the perfect fly mask - but there are a few changes I would like to see - fist the full side is too big for my mare (normal horse size usually) and too small for my gelding (big head). the velcro tabs ar not too secure and the mask is easily removed. A hole for the forelock is also needed.
The good - fring is great and my horses like it. The mesh has very good visability and says off their eyes. They do not sweat under the cloth areas. I want to love this mask, but currently it's just ok.

Super quality, very effective!
I have a small horse rescue with all shapes, sizes and needs. I love this fly mask because the mesh is very "see through" and light weight, and the fringe is effective for our sensitive horses without being intrusive or cumbersome, which has been the case with others we have tried. It is also VERY durable! Not hot either, as we have been using them all day in 90+ weather. Excellent product!

I had purchased a pair of these fly masks with ears and nose fringe last year, purchased two more this year, they are effective and durable, boys lower their heads and gladly put them on! I especially like the reflective tape and bright orange trim, highy recommend.

The best fly mask by far!!!
I bought this a few weeks ago and love it. It is great because my tb can easily see through the material which makes her feel more settled. It is easy to put on where some masks have so much velcro and are so overstrapped they are hard to get on and off . Not this one. Two straps easy on easy off, and stays on her with no problem at all, secure in place. And this horse has gotten other fly masks off in the past. But not this one! I think that because she is comfortable in it, she doesn't try to get it off, unlike others in the past that she hated.
Also love that it comes in cob size for my Morgan and my 16.3 tb's head is smaller and refined and the cob size also fits her great. She loves the fringes on the nose that keep the fly's off her nose. She is ultra-sensitive to flys, and this mask has worked out so perfectly for her. This is the only mask I will buy for my horses from now on. They love it and so do we!!! :)

Finally Found a great fly mask!!!
I bought 2 of these masks for my horses, one of which is a little mare who gets VERY annoyed with the little midgeys flying up into her nostrils. Well, this seems to have done the trick, and she is much more comfortable. The construction seems strong enough (I just got them a month ago) and my guys are out 24/7.

I started to say that I wish it were not so tight, but I'm wrong. I can adjust it to be as loose as I want. I love the nose fringe and the color. I can easily see my mare from the house because the orange stands out.

Best fly mask ever.
I love this fly mask and more importantly, so does my horse. He is a fanatic about bugs, especially on his nose, but he hated the fly masks with the extended nose. The fringe works great to keep bugs off, and doesn't irritate him. This fly mask fits great and stays on. If he doesn't have it on, and I pick it up, he will come running over to me to have me put it on him. The one I ordered at the beginning of the season is holding up great, but I just ordered another one, in case this is discontinued or something... I love it that much!

The fringe at the nose removes landing insects since it swings while horse mouth is grazing

Fabulous Fly Mask
This is the best fly mask I've ever bought. It's soft but seems sturdy, fits well, the horses LOVE the fringe. My mare is very finicky about things touching her face but this mask does not bother her at all. They don't seem to get sweaty or irritated under the headband either.

I do like all the features about it, however, my horse gets it off way too easily. The elastic is way too soft and all she has to do is rub her head or roll and off it comes. I also don't like the fact that when the field is muddy I cannot put it on her as it clogs with mud and then she can't see, which is probably why she works to get it off.

Love the product
I’m big fan of shire products and again they didn’t let me down. Extremely well made. The mess light enough to let airflow through it but strong enough to stand up horse play. I live in Mississippi.I love orange accent colour. If they happen to get it off. It’s very easy to find in paddock. My horse goes out without halter on and rarely loose it.

Great design
After a couple weeks of wear this mask is holding up great. The elastic gives it a good fit, the Velcro straps are easier than a lot of others to grab quickly and pull off because there are tabs at the end to grab and the orange means I can pick my bay horse out of the crowd of bays he lives with.
