As riders and online shoppers, we know it can be tough to buy a new bridle or pair of boots without trying them on. That's why we moved the fitting room to your living room (or barn)! From breeches to blankets, if you or your horse can try it on, you can return it, free! Just use the pre-paid return label included in your order within 60 days from the purchase date. And of course, please make sure the item is in like-new condition with original packaging (we said 'fitting room', not 'war room'!).

The Elite is lighter, more flexible and breathable than ever before with enhanced protection over the spine and ribs. The protector utilizes a single layer of Nastec X32 foam through the length of the spinal region to provide unsurpassed protection against sharp impacts and to ensure the vest stays in close contact with your back.

The outer back panels are two perforated layers of Nastec X32 providing super ventilation as these panels are tapered at the waist. The elasticized waist adjustments really ensure the protector follows the contours of your back perfectly. The zip has a brand new polyethylene 'energy dissipation strip' which covers the zip area to help prevent severe energy being forced through.

The front panels are made from revolutionary NASTEC VBL foam, perforated and profiled for cool comfortable riding with very rapid chest shaping.

Rodney Powell Elite Body Protector is rated 4.0833 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too bulky This vest is very high quality, a great price and seemed like it would be very protective, but it was just too bulky and constrictive feeling for me. For those who don't mind that, this is a great vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After riding in this vest for about 6 months I took my first fall with it cooling down horsie at a walk. Some invisible horse eating monster caught her attention resulting in a 180 spook that I couldn't stick. I went over her shoulder and landed flat on my back. Thanks to the vest I barely felt a thing when I hit the ground.  Even the day after, my back was not sore and I did not have any bruises.  I think I was more sore from the 1/2 mile run back to the barn after horsie than I was from the fall its self. It fits very comfortably and while it can get hot in the summer to me it is worth the added protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like it will do the job. Fit perfectly. Looks like it will do a great job protecting if I ever go off again. It looked like a good value after shopping around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I chose this due to its BETA ratings vs. the tipperary which is not approved or tested in any way shape or form (you might as well be wearing a marshmellow jacket!). It is cumbersome and bulky at first but after riding in it a few times you don't notice it. I feel confident that it would definitely protect me in a fall, excellent value for the item. Thanks SmartPak for helping me choose the right size also! I'm 5'4 and 122lbs and the size 2/childs XL fit me perfectly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very uncomfortable vest I found this vest extremely awkward to put on and very uncomfortable. I returned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vest but not for Western This is a great vest, comfort and quality-wise. However it was too long in the back to fit with my Western Dressage Saddle cantle. For English riders or Western riders with a low cantle, this vest would be perfect. Rated a 4 in durability because it looked sturdy but I never rode in it so I don't know for sure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult fit on full-figured woman Sadly I had to return this vest, though I wanted to like it quite badly. I simply could not comfortably fit my upper chest into it and the fit under the arms was too bulky. However, the quality of workmanship and materials looked great and I'm sure if it fits your body shape then it would be a lovely vest and very protective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vest I bought this vest because of it's safety ratings and could not be more pleased with it's comfort and fit. It is so comfortable, really conforms to your body. And actually fits my tall torso - it covers my tailbone without letting the shoulders out, and covers my ribs. Aside from the heat generated, I forget I'm wearing it. GREAT product!
