RJ Classics Monterey Xtreme Soft Shell Show Coat is rated 4.2727 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! I tried this coat on at my local tack store and the minute I tried it on I fell in love. All of the other costs I tried just did not feel the same. It is super light weight and it is very flattering. The stretchy material is comfortable and it isn't bulky like some other coats. I cannot speak for the durability of the coat because I just bought it that is why I only gave it three stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing fit I have a petite upper body but I'm 5'4, so it's hard finding a jacket that fits my shoulders and waist, and is long enough and doesn't restrict movement. This jacket fit perfectly! I bought the navy pin stripped and it's looks very beautiful, classy, and the pin strips are more subtle than the picture shows!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey jacket worth the investment I got this jacket recently for a Hunter show, in a very hot climate. This jacket is almost flawless - the material, the quality, the shape, flexibility, "washability", breathability. It certainly kept me as cool as possible the day of the show. And the fit is very flattering. I was particularly impressed by one design feature - the front zips up inside, so that when buttoned the material doesn't bulge awkwardly. Creates a really seemless look. The only reason I don't give this jacket 5 stars is that they sewed a bright orange label onto the sleeve, which I hadn't noticed until I was about to go into the ring to show! Because it was sewn on, and I had to scissors, I had to rip it off seconds before entering the ring, leaving two holes in my $500 jacket :-\ The manufacturer hasn't yet offered to replace the jacket or repair it. SmartPak has offered to pay for repairs, but because of the material the tailors I visited said they couldn't fix the holes. So I have a brand new $500 jacket with two holes in the sleeve. Which is disappointing. I just wish they wouldn't sew a label onto the outside of the jacket. I'm not sure how one would remove it safely. Maybe with a stitch picker?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best of both worlds I was a holdout for a long time, preferring the look of well-tailored older style, wool hunt coats with their unique plaids and stripes. But while loving the traditional look, I always had a hard time being comfortable in those coats because of my broad shoulders. I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a new coat and I have to say, I don't think I can go back to the older style now!!! I chose this particular RJs coat because it still had traditional styling but it also had all the modern features, making it incredibly comfortable to ride in! I tried on a bunch of coats and this one was hands down the most comfortable and best fit. The tailoring is absolutely beautiful and it fit my large shoulders perfectly! This coat is expensive but is so comfortable and looks so nice that it was worth every penny in my opinion!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Coat SO Much This coat is awesome, it is so stretchy and light, but maintains the look of a traditional coat (just better fitting and flattering). I have a 0 so I pretty small and this coat is so flattering for a thin, athletic build. However, I let my friend who is about one size bigger than me borrow it because she fell off schooling into the only puddle on the whole show grounds, and it stretched enough and looked fine on her. I too have muscular arms and a small waist and it fits beautifully, since it is so stretchy it doesn't look bad on my arms. The waist is perfect because it is a little big, but I'd rather that than the buttons looking strained, and tying your number around your waist fixes that anyway. Definitely have a close-fitting show shirt because if the sleeves are too baggy it looks kind of funny under the coat.I get compliments every time that I wear this coat, I definitely recommend it.I am a 2 in many other show coats because of my shoulders, but the waist is always too big. Here the shoulders stretch and a 0 looked better overall.
