The Rhino® SmartPak Collection Wug Turnout Blanket was created exclusively for SmartPak by the experts at Horseware Ireland for one of the most fashionable and functional turnouts around. It features a 1000 denier exterior backed by Rhino®’s Barrier Technology. That means that even if your horse manages to tear the tough outer shell, the waterproof protection remains intact. The lining on this blanket will keep your horse looking and feeling great with shine-enhancing and antibacterial properties. Plus, the Surefit neck design reduces pressure on the withers while the patented V-Front closure wraps around the point of the shoulder, keeping the blanket light across the chest and relieving pressure on the shoulders. Additionally, front leg arches give your horse more freedom of movement.

Extremely poor durablility
This blanket was used for 2 months and by the end of that period the blanket had a couple tears in it, as well as a number of openings in the material, like a little hole or something. I have used blankets for nearly 35 years an have never used a blanket with such poor materials.
I am disappointed because the blanket fit really well, and I loved the blanket when it arrived.
SmartPak is a great company, they are honoring the return of this defective blanket although I would have preferred they pay the shipping back because the only reason it is going back is because it is not what it should be.

Not as expected
I own a Rambo Original that's wearing out so I thought this would be a good replacement for my guy who is very hard on blankets. My first impression when I took it out of the bag was that it has been used. It was way to soft and even looked a bit dingy. Never the less I tried it on my 16.2 hand OTTB and found it to be very short on the sides. There was little to no coverage around his belly. I returned this blanket and will save up for a new Original Rambo.

Love this blanket!
I love the fit, quality and low-static properties of this turnout. The heavyweight is VERY warm -- even on my body-clipped arabian who lives outside. I immediately turned around and ordered the medium weight too -- will be saving the heavy one for severe winter storms.

Sturdy!!
I just purchased my second Rhino SmartPak Wug. The first Wug has gone through two cold, snowy, windy winters in the Oregon High Desert. No rips, no tears, all buckles and snaps intact. Love this product. As other blankets wear out, we will eventually be an all Rhino herd!

Great Blanket!
I have used this style sheets for years and now time to have a slightly heavier blanket on hand. High neck provides more protection and I have never had shoulder rubs with these blankets.

Finally a blanket that fits!
I had a hard time spending almost $200 foot a turn out sheet but after having over six sheets sent to me and returned due to them not fitting, I knew I had to give this one a shot. My gelding is build very uphill in his neck but has a large, sloping shoulder, and withers. The issue I was having with other blankets was that they slid back and got very tight at the base of his neck and front of his shoulders, making him incredibly sore. Sometimes they would pull down on his withers and make his withers sore as well. It's so nice to finally have a blanket that I don't feel guilty putting on him because I know it won't make him sore. A year ago, he got so sore, his muscles pulled him severely out of alignment and he was a chiropractic mess. It's taken almost a year of every six week adjustments and not wearing his old blanket to get him stable again. Unfortunately, in north Florida, we need sheets and blankets as it gets into the trend and twenties at night. This blanket has been a God send.

Beautiful blanket
I have only been using this blanket for a couple of weeks but it appears to be a very well-made blanket. I love the high neck and the secure front closure. The 81" fits my 4 year old 16.3 thoroughbred perfectly right now but it may become too snug as he grows and muscles up.

Very nice and very warm blanket!
I bought this blanket about a month ago for my 15.3 appendix mare. I got the heavy weight and wow is it nice. It is very thick and keeps her warm in below 0 degree weather. Seems very durable and has held up this farm both in her stall and in the field. Really nice shape so it covers more of her stomach than most turnouts. It does not rub her shoulders or withers at all which is a common problem I have when finding her a blanket. The color and pattern is just an added bonus! Love love love this blanket.

Good fit and perfect weight
I have always had Rambo/Rhino blankets, and the fit is consistent across models, which is a real plus. This fits my 15.3 TB perfectly, and is a good weight. He tends to be warm, and so rarely needs anything more than this, even on a very cold day. Based on my experience with their other blankets, I expect this to last a good long time (this was bought to replace a Rambo mid-weight on which he tore two of the belly straps in its 6th year of use - and those can be repaired).

Different from my other Rhinos
When I received my SmartPak Rhino, I was a little surprised by the outer material. I have several other regular Rhinos and they have a sturdier feel to the outer shell. I've been using it for about a month on a broodmare who is turned out with 2 other broodmares and have had no issues with durability. Had I bought it for one of my younger horses that lives in a playful herd, I would have been concerned about how well the material would hold up to bites. (It may be equally durable to my regular rhinos, but on the mare it's currently used on it won't be put through the rough herd test, so I have no way to know.) It looks beautiful and the fit is great. Love everything about it, I only question the material as it is different from my other Rhinos.

In my opinion, the Rhino blankets are just as good as the higher priced Rambo blankets. Smart Pack has the best prices on Rhinos. I already had this blanket on another horse. This is the best choice for a mid weight blanket.

Nice blanket, runs very smyouall
We have a 14.1 hand pony, average build (not very chunky) who measures about 72 and wears a 72 Rhino (not SmartPak) wug sheet, 72 Amigo wug medium turnout, and 72 Rambo wug heavy. Before buying the Rambo I ordered this blanket in a 72 - the price was right and I trust both SmartPak and Horseware. Went to put it on the pony and it was super tight across her (not wide) shoulders, and her behind was out in the cold. She would need a 75. It was cold, I used SmartPak's awesome return policy to return it and order the 72 Rambo wug heavy (which fits great). I liked the blanket but recommend sizing up.

Great Fit!
The first blanket was too big and I was so disappointed because I took it out of the box and looked so regal and fancy. SmartPak was great and it was really easy to return the product and exchange for a different size. I love the higher neck which takes the pressure off of the withers and gives extra protection when it's snowing!

So far, so good!
I bought one of these for each of our two TBs, who are very different in body-type--one has a warmblood build and the other is more typically TB with a narrower chest. But they are both high-withered, and I love the Rambo/Rhino cut with the high neck for this very reason--they don't sit down on the withers and rub or restrict movement. Both guys seem quite happy in them! Like the Rambo brand, these tend to run slightly large for the size--the big TB is normally an 81 or 84, and the 81 fits him perfectly. So, it's not a huge size difference, but if your horse falls in a size range, I'd lean toward going smaller.
I didn't give five stars because I've only had them on the horses for a few days, so I can't yet speak to longevity. Fingers crossed--all my Rambos have held up fabulously.

Excellent Blanket! Great Value, Fit LOVE!
Have used this style of blanket for past year and recently bought another (this one) for my QH mare - LOVE the fit, the no wither pressure high neck design and how it stays put on her and doesn't shift). Keeps her warm and dry, no rubs! GREAT blanket for the $$$
