Too thick and wide
Very disappointed with these reins, the leather that you hold is soft, but all connections were heavy, double thick leather. Note also visible buckles at the bit not discreet hook posts. The reins themselves are heavy, thick, wide and difficult to hold and I have average size 8 hands. Not attractive dressage reins in my opinion. I returned them.

Love them, wish they had a longer length
Love these reins. Soft, comfortable, allow for a nice contact with my sensitive guy. Just wish SmartPak carried the longer length. I’m on the buckle when my long necked warmblood stretches. A little more length would make them perfect.

Hands Up!
My hands love these reins, they are gentler on my fingers that have arthritis. Additionally I think they are resulting in better and lighter contact with my horse’s mouth. Great price too.

Reins are lovely but sizing inaacurate
I have a very old set of these reins my mare broke. I have looked EVERYWHERE to replace them because I need the longer size of 60". I was willing to forego the shortcoming on the length in order to get the wider reins of 3/4" or 18mm as they are indicated in some placed. Unfortunately, these are not the 3/4" SP claims they are. They're the narrower version of 5/8". Too bad. I can't afford to compromise on both length and width. If those aren't your issues, you'll be glad you bought these reins! They are some of the most affordable of your options for this type.

Very grippy, yet very nice looking reins.
I bought these to replace my Thinline reins which I liked but where a bit bulky. These are wonderful reins, grippy, soft, attractive and the stops are very helpful yet don't get in the way or hurt your hands. I've only had them a few weeks so I can't say how they are on durability but they look like they will hold up well.

nice reins
I had these reins for years, and when my horse finally broke them, I immediately wanted to replace them. But they were on back order so I had to wait a few months. In the meantime, I used the web reins that came with my bridle. When I finally got these, they felt thicker than they had before, and I had a hard time adjusting. I still love them, but now I'm not sure which type of rein I really prefer. I love the soft leather, and the subtle stops, but I think I had a more sensitive connection with the thinner reins. I'll stick with these for a while and see if I can get back to where I was with them. I do recommend them, they definitely don't cause blisters and calluses like some reins can (my skin is very sensitive - and I always wear gloves). But now I wish they could be a little thinner.

Very comfortable reins
I got these about 10 months ago and have been using them 4 times a week on average. I love them! No signs of wear at all and they are very comfortable to use. I can go without gloves, which I can't usually do, and I'm perfectly comfortable. No trouble with slipping with or without gloves. The stops are covered so they don't tear my hands up (I usually loathe stops). I've gotten compliments on my reins at shows and when people ride my horse. If they came in a 60", I'd never want another pair of reins.

Seem pretty good so far...
I bought these reins because I missed the feel of leather reins after using web reins with stops for years. They are nice because you get the slight stretchy feel of leather with the assistance of stops. I will say it is pretty hard to use/feel the stops when I ride with gloves on, but with bare hands I can feel them and use them very well to prevent sliding. They are very squishy and soft. Feel like *excellent* quality leather. I like them pretty well so far, but if you want a hard stop to hook your hand on, I'd look for something else.

Soft and supple reins!
I bought these about a month ago and love them. The leather is soft and supple from day 1. The stops are well spaced and I love the hidden look.
