Great bridle!
I love the quality of this leather and I did find that it runs a bit small. I use a full size on my appy (who has a very small face) and it fits him perfectly. Although, when I got mine, some of the “paint” from the leather was scratched off and I had to use sharpie to hide it.

Poor leather, weird sizing, ill-fitting keepers
First off, let me say that I have two other Plymouth bridles (one dressage, one elite dressage) that I've been very satisfied with after years of use. I borrowed this bridle (brand new, still in the plastic) from a relative who sold her horses. I've been using it on my 13.2 hh project pony, who has a pretty proportionate head. The bridle is cob-sized and the nosebands fit her well (caveson is only on the 2nd hole) but the throatlatch is so huge that even on the highest hole it sits too low and looks awful. The keeper on the throatlatch is too big so I had to add a rubber band. The keeper on the flash noseband meanwhile is too small so I can barely jam the strap through it, and the strap is developing wrinkles from this. The leather itself is poor quality and not very attractive. Yes, the price is low but in my opinion you're not even getting what you pay for.

Reins are abnormally long
Bought because my bridle went mysteriously missing at the barn and needed a replacement. The leather is good quality, reins grip well but the end of the reins go down to my feet when I gather them up. I've never had oversize reins be this ridiculously long

Moldy and not in the best shape
This is a descent bridle. It unfortunately was sent to me with a significant amount of mold. There are 2 keepers that I cannot get their respective leather pieces through. The throatlatch is quite long and I cannot get the excess through the first keeper. It will be a descent bridle one day when I can get the leather keepers stretched out and 50 more oilings in it to make it feel a little less like cardboard. I wish I had spent a little more and bought a better quality.

Everything I’ve been looking for
I bought this bridle less than a week ago and it arrived speedy quick! The bridle is defiantly way darker than in the smartpak picture, but it works for me. Leather quality is amazing, and bridle is affordable. I got a mare and put the bridle on just to try it on her, not ride her since she’s still getting used to the barn, and it looked very nice. I got the full or regular horse size and she’s a 16h tb, so it went to the top hole on some of the pieces, but not the nose band or flash, which I liked. Reins are grippy too. Overall, love it!

Good schooling bridle
I bought this for one of my lesson horses because their tack gets abused! It’s a good bridle and the reins are good too. My only complaint is that it is not the color that was in the photo. It’s very dark brown.

This bridle is wonderful! My horse is comfortable, it has nice padding. It also fits her very well! I've had trouble finding a bridle that fit her because they are usually a little big. This one is perfect! Very happy with this product! And you don't break the bank for it!

Wonderful Schooling and Show Bridle!
I bought this about a month ago, when I converted from hunter/jumpers to eventing. I decided on a flash bridle as my first bridle (rather than a figure eight) because you can both jump and flat in a flash bridle. I am overjoyed with the quality, especially for the awesome price. My horse happily puts his head down for me when I go to put this bridle on (such a great boy he is, he puts up with so much). The leather has held up VERY well so far, although I should mention I clean and condition it after every ride. The stitching is nice, as are the rubber reins that are included. Overall, a great buy. I couldn't be happier with this bridle! Thanks SmartPak, another awesome product!

Beautiful but difficult
I bought this bridle a few weeks ago, and I love the reins and color! However, it was hard to figure out how to put together as some pieces didn't fit where they were supposed to. However, I watched smartpak's how-to for putting it together & I love it!

My mare looks great in this bridle!
I bought this product for my mare, she is in between a cob and horse size bridle, but the horse size for this bridle fits her pretty well. The quality is nice for what you pay for. The webbed reins are probably my favorite thing. I would recommend conditioning this bridle frequently, as it was pretty stiff when i first got it. But, with lots of conditioning the bridle is soft and easy to work with.

Lovely bridle
I was looking for a bridle for my large pony jumper. She fits a cob usually and this bridle does fit her, but the nose band was almost too small. In comparison to the length of the cheek pieces the nose band seems on the small side, so keep this in mind. My mare does not have a very refined head (though not huge either) so others may experience a better fit.
As to the quality, I absolutely LOVE the reins that are included. The bridle itself is very soft and after one initial oiling stays beautiful after a quick wipe down with soap following a ride. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I bought this about a month ago, really nice for the price! I would have given it an excellent rating if the crown was padded.

Very pleasantly surprised!
I bought this bridle a couple weeks ago and was very surprised how supple and beautiful it was right out of the box, especially at this price! I bought a cob size for my 14.1 lesson pony and this bridle definitely does run small. It just barely fits him. I have a very dainty headed 15.2 hand TB mare who typically wears a cob size but it will not fit her. I love the bridle so much that I just ordered her her own. And the reins!! Oh my gosh, I love love LOVE them! My new favorite!

Great Bridle
I bought this within the last month. The quality of the leather is very nice, not stiff. The web/rubber reins are very soft and not stuff either. I used to love rubber reins but now these are my new favorite. Everything fits well for my average sized TB head. I bought a horse size and fits well.

Has potential
This could have been a great deal for the money, but there were drawbacks. The leather quality is what you might expext, ok but not great. The biggest problem is the sizing. My large pony is 14.1h and has a fairly fine head. Both the browband and the padded part of the noseband of the cob bridle were way too small. I had to replace the browband and punch a hole at the very end of the noseband just to make it reach. The rest of the bridle was true to size, so a larger size would have been too large.

Disappointed
Not only did it take weeks to arrive (?) with no email response from Smartpak to my inquiries (I finally called) and I only live in Virginia, mine wasn't, "Butter soft right out of the package." There seems to be those who get that and those who don't. It's got a weird green, scaly, film all over the leather I cannot remove and cleaning/conditioning/oiling has done nothing to improve either the scaling or the stiffness. Just not an all around positive experience. I'll live!

Quality, supply leather
I originally bought this bridle at Equine Affair last fall. When I went to use it this spring I realized that it was the wrong size and most likely in the wrong bin when I bought it. SmartPak was great about exchanging the bridles even though it was months later. This bridle was extremely supple right out of the box. The reins are a little lighter weight than I am used to but I love the material of them. This bridle is of great quality for the price and I am very happy with my purchase.

Just Okay
This bridle is definitely not worth the list price - the leather quality just isn't there. At the sale price it's reasonable. My previous bridle was an HDR, similar price point to the sale price on this and I think that one is slightly better quality (the HDR certainly has nicer padding). Some of the stitching is uneven and the dye has a few drips. I got this because I needed a flash noseband and rubber reins and this wasn't much more than just buying those components alone so I might as well have a full spare bridle.

Amazing!!
I bought this bridle a few months ago and I'm OVER THE MOON! This bridle is amazing quality I've taken it to ride in a jeff cook clinic (jeff was George Morris' working student) and he was very surprised when I told him this bridle was under $100 I'm pretty sure he went out and bought one himself. The reins on this bridle were getting some bad reviews? I have no Idea why the reins are amazing!! Overall I most likely will be ordering at least 5 more of these bridles in the future if this one ever gives out but I doubt it will (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!) my boy looks so handsome in it and it doesn't cause any discomfort or rubs

Amazing bridal for price
I bought this bridal a few months ago and it is amazing for the price! It's a little stiff at first but after you condition it it's soft and supple my trainer is using my horse for Jeff Cook Hunter Jumper clinic and she's using this bridal because she loves it. everyone at my barn has been asking me where I got this bridal and I tell them on SmartPak and when I tell them the price their jaws drop open

Has held up to rigorous use
I have been using this bridle for 3 years now and have no complaints. The leather started soft and stayed that way. I am pretty good about cleaning and oiling my tack, and have seen no cracking, discoloring, or any issues. Have used this bridle constantly for schooling and shows, and love it. I can't speak to the reins because my horse stepped on them and broke them early on.

Very attractive and great reins!
The only thing I would prefer to be different is for the noseband to be a bit wider. But I love the overall bridle!

You get what you pay for...
...and that's an affordable bridle that lacks in quality. I've had this bridle for over 2 years, have cleaned and maintained it daily, and the leather quality is just terrible and so stiff. I've stopped using it because I'm afraid it will break. If you want an affordable bridle that has good, quality leather and is pretty to look at, buy an HDR (Henre de Rivel) bridle.
