The best schooling bridle
I’ve had this bridle for almost 4 years and it still looks great. The leather is soft, and I have the cob sized which fits from 16.2 Ottbs to 15 hand ponies. It pretty much won’t take any oil, however it came very dark and with use and conditioner it softened right up. I use it as a schooling bridle but it has been to plenty of local shows and looked great. Worth the price If your looking for a schooling bridle that will last years.

feels and looks so much more expensive!
I bought this bridle about a month ago for my new horse, it was intended for schooling just because I didn't know how nice it would look but I will definitely be using it for showing too. a few reviews mentioned problems with the dye on the reins but I've already cleaned and conditioned/oiled mine a few times and everything still looks brand new. the color is perfect and the padding is soft and squishy. the only problem I had was with the "padding" under the buckle on the noseband, it's not really padding at all like the description made me think, it's really just a super thick piece of leather. it's not soft and bendable, rather hard and non-flexible, making it a bit more difficult to do up. for some people this might not be a problem if you leave your noseband put together when putting the bridle on, however, I undo and redo my noseband every time I ride. I'm sure in time it will become broken in but for now its a bit of an inconvenience. overall I would recommend this bridle to anyone for both schooling and showing. the quality and padding is wonderful for the price!

Not impressed
Personally, I like a bridle that starts off a little lighter and darkens to a nice natural deep brown with conditioning and use. This bridle was dark brown right out of the box and had a filmy coating on it that looked like it would crack and wrinkle with use. I was disappointed and didn’t even try it on...it had to go back.

Love it but Must Have Daily Maintenance
This bridle fits my QH/Arab better than anything else I've used on him. The reins are beautiful and padded. The padded monocrown, browband, and noseband, really adds to the horse's comfort. The color does chip though so it requires regular cleaning and oiling. All in all it's a wonderfully made bridle.

Plastic-y Leather, Brown is Near Black
I needed a schooling bridle, and this seemed like a good, inexpensive option. The reviews made it seem like I'd be pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, I was not. The leather was EXTREMELY stiff and plastic-y (especially the reins, which I thought actually were some kind of rubber or plastic) - not the soft, surprisingly supple leather mentioned in some of the reviews - and the brown is actually almost black. If that's the color you're looking for, no problem! But the picture is very deceiving - definitely not a medium, chocolate color at all. Overall, I wasn't very impressed, so I returned the bridle and spent a little bit more on an M. Toulouse.

best bridlein this price range
I got this bridle about a year and a half ago. I’ve used it almost daily since and I even show in it. The leather looks painted or something so without cleaning daily and oiling weekly, it can look a little strange. But the reins, mono crown, price, and padding make up the difference!

Nice schooling bridle, but...
I got this bridle a few months ago to match my new tack set, it was super pretty and soft and just amazing straight out of the bag! If you're looking for an inexpensive schooling bridle this is the bridle for you!Unfortunately the weather hadn't been good so the bridle just ended up being stored safely. I recently lunged my horse a couple times in it to get her going back into work and the stitching on the inside of the crown peice has started to come undone and the leather pieces have started to look cracked and britle, even though I care for my leather very well! Its too late to return it so unfortunately my bridle search continues.

Great Value
For the price, I am really impressed with the quality and the features. I was a little worried about the leather while it was breaking in, but it turned out nice. My horse's head tends to be between a cob and full size, and the full fit him well, so I'd say this bridle runs a bit small.
The reins are a little short. I assume they will stretch some, but right out of the package, they seem more like pony reins.

Looks great fits well.
Love this bridle for our horse. Initially got the wrong size and had to change it. The representative I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful in exchanging it. We've received many comments on the bridle at the barn.

Fits to a Tee!
I purchased this bridle quite some time ago. My horse didn’t have a bridle to call “his” so I decided to purchase one. I’ve always been partial to monocrown bridles and this one was no exception.
It’s a beautiful dark havanna with lovely stitching on the browband, noseband, and reins. My horse also isn’t the tallest so the rein length was perfect. It’s sizing was exactly the same as his other bridle, and fits him to a perfect tee. It looks and feels amazing. It was also VERY easy to assemble. I recommend this bridle to anyone looking for an affordable bridle!

Looks great!
Looks more expensive than it is and after conditioning it’s much easier to work with. It’s darker than it looks in the pictures online, though. I’m very impressed with how much padding it has behind the ears and on the noseband.

Incredible quality for price
So nice! Reins are a little stiff but I think they will be perfect once broken in. The bridle is beautiful and supple leather.

Great quality for the price.
Beautiful bridle for the money. Only complaint is on multiple horses the cob is too small, Las hole and horse size same issue only too big.

Plymouth Elite Hunter Bridle
This bridle is gorgeous, had the horse's name engraved on the crown piece, and it looks amazing, giving this for a gift to my daughter for Christmas, I am so excited for her to see it.

Very Poor Quality
I bought this bridle as an everyday bridle. The bridle looked very nice online. However, I was disappointed when I received the bridle. The leather is poor quality. The poor quality leather made it difficult to put the bridle together without greasing with a lot of leather conditioner. The holes were tight so it was hard to put the bridle together.

Just a lovely bridle
I was surprised at the quality and softness of the leather and how well it fit my pony. She is rather hard to fit as she takes a cob bridle but a horse nose band, but this fit her perfectly. I especially like the cutback crown piece.

Love it!
This bridle is beautiful. It's just stiff and takes awhile to break in. The only downside is there is no Plymouth martingale that's fancy stitched to go with it! They also don't sell any part of the bridle separate which is a little bit of a pain if only a part breaks. But overall it's gorgeous and I recommend it!

Didn't live up to my expectations
After admiring this bridle for months online, I finally splurged when SmartPak had a sale. I was looking for a show bridle, but didn't want to spend a crazy amount for one. I was incredibly excited about the price and could not wait for it to be delivered! When it arrived, I was a bit disappointed. The color and quality were not quite what I was expecting. The color was a very dark brown, almost black, which is definitely not how it is shown in the pictures. The bridle and reins were very stiff, which might improve with a couple good oiling or conditioning sessions, but I have bought cheap schooling bridles with better leather. I was impressed with the workmanship of the bridle, and the fancy stitching is really nice. I just didn't love it enough to keep it. The bridle search continues!

Disappointed with the quality.
I ordered this bridle about 4 months ago in O/S for my WB gelding, and I fell in love with how nice the leather was, and how great it looked on him, and how durable it was. I just reordered it in Full for my new gelding, and the quality was not as good as it was with the first bridle I bought. As soon as I went to adjust the cheek peice and put it through the top keeper it broke. I'm very disappointed because of how great the first one I ordered was compared to my new one.

Smartpak amazes me again!
i bought this maybe 2 months ago and after two weeks there was a freak accident and it was trampled. The crown piece was completely destroyed, so I called customer care and asked if it was possible for me to get a replacement part. I was prepared to pay like $50 for this replacement because it was better than buying a new bridle, and I asked how much it would be and she said it was free, and they have a stock of replacement parts that may not be the plymouth piece but would still fit. I was honestly floored. It wasnt smartpaks fault that my bridle was trampled, so they shouldnt have to pay for my new bridle part! and they literally sent me not one, but 2 crown pieces so I could try them on and see which one worked better and send the other one back. So appreciative of smartpaks awesome customer care, and I was a huge smartpak lover before, but this just knocked me out of my seat! awesome bridle, even better customer service!

Great bridle for the price!
Bought this bridle for my 7 yo gelding who chews everything - so didn't want to waste money on an expensive bridle that he would destroy. This one looks nice enough for the show ring and appears very durable. Love the padding at crown and noseband.

Awesome bridle!
I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and it's awesome. At first I bought my large pony the cob size and it was too small and I went up to the horse and it fits perfect. It's very pretty and very good quality for a great price!

Nicely made bridle
I bought the full size which fit my TB well except in the browband it was too small. This company doesn't sell the browbands separate so I had to order a close matching oversized band to use. Otherwise it seems to be a well made, simple bridle.

Best bridle for the money... Except for the reins.
I bought this bridle at the Smartpak retail store after leaving the competitor's tent sale a couple years ago. I hadn't found what I wanted there, and I was glad I didn't because the quality and features of this bridle are wonderful for the price! Useable straight "out of the box" and softens up even more with some oiling. The full horse size fit both my average thoroughbred and big-headed paint well.
My ONLY complaint is the reins. They turned pink in some areas of the lacing after a few cleanings. Of course Smartpak is wonderful and offered to replace them if I sent them in, but I don't really want another set of pink reins so I declined and just used a different brand.

Disappointed with options
I bought this bridle after having it recommended to me as an affordable but beautifully made bridle by barnmates. I thought it was beautiful, but it doesn't fit my horse (cob headstall fits beautifully, but he needs a horse browband and noseband as they were way too small). I was very disappointed that Smartpak was unable to give me an option to buy a horse noseband and browband seperately. They rerecommended that I try the Harwich Fancy Padded bridle they sell (of which they would sell me seperate parts for noseband and bridle), but "hazelnut"is not a color that strikes me as looking good on a dark bay or will match my other tack. Disappointed aND still looking! I would buy this bridle if they offered me the parts to buu seperately!

Beautiful bridle!
the main reason I picked this bridle is because of how padded it is. I wanted to make sure it was as comfortable as possible for my big guy. The second reason was how fancy it looked. It's even more beautiful in person. Excellent quality for an amazing price.

Quality bridle for great price
Love that his bridle has the look and feel of a more expensive product but doesn't break the bank! As far as fit goes, I wish it could be adjusted to a shorter length. If I were to get a cob size I'm afraid the browband might be too narrow. I have an average Paint and have to adjust the cheek pieces fairly high which can cause the brow band to also sit high. The padded crown is nice, but I wish it were also sculpted to fit behind the ears as it's straight design defeats the purpose of the crown being a 'comfort' style. I have the Plymouth Dressage bridle and find the same situation. However, I found I had to order an even larger browband, as the one that came with the average horse size was pinching my Paint.
