Weird Sizing
At 5'5", I'm pretty average, my shoulders are a bit broader, but I usually wear a L or XL depending on style/brand. A friend had this coat and I liked it, so I waited for it to go on sale, and last year I bought this on sale in a L. I could not move my shoulders. So I gave it to my 12 year old daughter, and it fit her well, maybe a little big. So I ordered and XL, shoulders not as tight, but sleeves still about 5 inches too short. So I now have the XXL, sleeves are better, still about an inch short, but now it is too long. I'm really hoping the designers and quality control people take note the reviews talking about how short the sleeves are and make them longer, then I will love this coat. Now I'm trying to decide whether to keep the XXL or hope for a change next year and wait for it to be on sale again :(

Warm, lightweight, great cold weather barn coat!
I bought this coat because our barn is so cold in the winter, and my legs were so cold! I love this coat! Comfortable, warm, lightweight, and easy to ride in with the two back zip pleats. The longer length did not interfere in barn activities. Washes nicely. I’ve had no trouble with the separating zipper, but you have to line it up perfectly when starting to zip. The coat also fit me well, I am short, 5’1”, and the sleeves were not excessively long on me. I liked that it was not as bulky as some of the down coats. I liked it so much, I ordered a second coat on sale. More color choices would be nice. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a longer coat versus a jacket.

Didn’t last a year
I LOVED this jacket BUT seems to wear out very easy and isn’t super durable.

Great jacket, horrible zipper.
Got this for Christmas, as I’m out at the barn all day most days. Less than two months of wearing it, and I can’t even zip it anymore because the zipper is so hard to zip. Unfortunate. Want to wear it, but doesn’t stay warm enough without being zipped. Save the money and buy a north face.

Good for smaller build women
I’m an average size person with normal shoulders and arms. I bought a large or an extra large although the large should have been perfect according to size chart. Couldn’t move my arms well in either. Right across the back and shoulders and the sleeves were too short. I wanted to love it. It just wasn’t going to work for me. Otherwise neat coat

Zipper is junk
I want to love this coat but the zipper didn't work straight out of the package. Disappointing since this could be really nice.

New Version Not The Same
I bought this coat when it first released in 2018 and the quality was great for the price. However, this coat is not of the same quality as it used to be. The zipper is trash and gets stuck all the time. The material is lighter and does not have the same warmth as before. Was really hoping for it to be similar but not the same for a more expensive price.

The zipper!
I should have listened to the reviews about the zipper problems. I tried this coat on in the store and had no problem with it. But within a couple of days it was driving me crazy. The top would work but not the bottom zipper. I have to make multiple attempts to get the zipper just right. Finally I started leaving it zipped and I step in and out of it. It wouldn't be so bad if I had got it on clearance. I'll probably have the zipper replaced.
I bought the coat a few days before we had brutally cold weather. I wore layers of silk long underwear and fleece under the coat and went for a 2 hour trail ride in NH. -8⁰, -20⁰ with the wind chill. I was fine! I love the way the coat flares out over the saddle and I can tuck it around my legs for warmth. I ride gaited horses so no worries about the coat bunching up posting the trot. The red color provides good visibility in the woods.
If it wasn't warm, I'd have returned it because of the zipper.

A bit disappointing
This is a beautiful coat but it's not warm enough for a New England winter; it's more of a spring/fall coat. I am soooo frustrated with these long coats made for horsewomen - what is with the lack of pockets and mediocre zippers??? The outside pockets on this coat are great but I need an inside zippered pocket and this coat does not have one (it is a standard feature in my LLBean long coats). I have the same issue with the SmartPak down trainer's coat. If you read the reviews, the SmartPak coat and this one have the same complaints about the difficulty in using the zipper - I had a dickens of a time zippering this coat back up to return it. There is no way that the fabric of this coat at the bottom of the zipper will survive a season of wear. I'm hoping that these coats will be improved for the 2023 winter season!
