Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm & well made I bought these boots for their warmth & traction. I loved them, but returned them because the traction with the grippers engaged was non-existant. The tines did not grip into the ice & when they were out, gave even less contact with surface area. When I tried them with just contact of the soles, they were still very slippery o n ice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy on and off winter barn boot. I was looking for a winter boot that I could just slip on and head out to the barn - no laces, buttons, etc. They had to be warm and waterproof! I strictly wanted a "barn boot" to muck and wade through mud and puddles in the paddock, and could withstand trips to the manure pile. I was not looking for a barn/riding boot, and leather just doesn't cut it in New England rain and snow. These seem to fit the bill, velcro is easy. Boot is not super warm; you'll need a good pair of socks on really cold days, then you are fine. I read where the insoles were not that comfortable, but they don't bother me at all. They are definitely waterproof, and an added attraction are the nifty ice grips which work pretty good. Even without engaging them, the boots have good grip on the ice. Really hard toe is a plus as well, for hooves that accidentally step in the wrong spot - your foot! Oh, I'm an 8 1/2, the 9 was too big. 8 is plenty roomy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm but stiff soles I bought these for working around the barn and riding in the Pennsylvania winters (even though they aren't specifically made for riding). I needed a boot that would keep my feet warm even after standing on cold cement for several hours. These work so very well! I bought them a half size larger to accommodate extra thick socks, which wasn't necessary; the toe box is extremely roomy (usually a problem for my wide foot). My only complaint is that the sole doesn't flex at all, making them very "clompy" and it's uncomfortable walking more than short distances. This same drawback makes them good to ride in, though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be just right for many, but not me I was excited to see this boots and order them as I live in an area on the snow-ice-rain line of New England. Having the fold out ice cleats seemed like a great option. Unfortunately, the toe box of this boot is a bit narrow and hard, not good on older feet with mild bunions, so I had to send them back. I think for most people they would be a good fit and a valuable winter boot,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good boot The snow is now here. Glad to have something to walk in with the cleats for safety on slippery surfaces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea The concept is great but I found the footbed very uncomfortable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest and most Comfortable riding boots You can add this photo to my other review, I forgot it. So hard for me to find a pair of winter riding boots that do not hurt my feet, these are the best I have ever had and warm too.
