Spray & RUN!!!
It works. I like that it’s natural. I used it for a whole summer, but I won’t buy it again. It is not for sensitive skin and the smell is overwhelming! There’s too much peppermint essential oil. It nearly burns my skin. When I spray it, I have to do so when I’m getting ready to leave the barn for the arena. I hold my horse, spray it quickly, and then RUN out of the barn lest me and my horse end up coughing like crazy!

Quality Natural Fly Spray
The OutSmart® Fly Spray is one of the best non-toxic/herbal fly sprays I have used. Along with working well to prevent flies, one of the main ingredients is peppermint and it smells so good! I had a horse that was allergic to some pesticides that are often found in fly spray. His skin would break out in small hives and he would become very itchy. I tried a few other brands of fly sprays that are plant-based and non-toxic, and this one seemed to work the best for me. I didn't have to spray it as often as other herbal fly sprays I have used in the past, as the flies seemed to stay away for a longer period of time. I use it on myself and my dogs too!

Smell Bothers My Mare
I like this fly spray and it seems to do decently at repelling flies, however, it has a super strong minty smell (which I think smells nice), but it bothers my mare like crazy. If I spray down her whole body with it, she’s sneezing up a storm and looks rather uncomfortable. Was slightly disappointed because I usually love SmartPak brand products :/

Does not repel ticks
The tick repellent I used that worked (Tick Guard) has been discontinued. I hoped this would replace it, but it does not seem to repel ticks at all. Perhaps that is because it has only 1 of the 3 essential oils that made Tick Guard so successful.

Our Favorite Everyday Natural Fly Repellent
OutSmart is one of the best natural fly repellents that I've tried. It is our favorite for everyday use around the farm. It lasts longer than most natural repellents. It does have a really bad smell - I do not recommend spraying it indoors. When I use it outside, everyone is happy with it. I like that it won't kill my fly predators and isn't toxic to me, my horses or chickens.

New Favorite Fly Spray!
I've been curious about OutSmart Fly Spray for a while but I was hesitant to change from the brand I've been using for the last several years. I received a sample in an order from Smartpak and I was super impressed so I ordered a larger bottle right away. It smells GREAT which is a huge plus for me. When I used it on my horse I watched the flys drop right off of him. I only wish I discovered it sooner!

Bought this to try for something different (we use Pyhrana regularly)- it smells good! It seemed to work ok (fly sprays never really seem to work all that well IMO) and would try it again.

Wow. Works on ticks!
Smartpak sent me a free sample of this. I used it hoping that it would help repel the seed ticks that were all over my horses. I didn’t have much hope because nothing much works on these ticks. The next day, no new ticks, the old ticks were gone and none of my horses had a reaction to the spray! Smartpak, your ploy worked. I’ll be buying some of the outsmart spray now.

Can't get over the smell!
I received this as a sample, which is good because if I purchased this it would go right back. I use all kinds of flysprays and none really smell that great - but this one was just awful. It wasn't only me, but my horse repeatedly had the flehmen response as I was putting it on.

Attracts WASPS, left horrible smell on me
I got a free sample of this product with my last SmartPak order, and I was excited to try it, as the flies have been bad this season. The first thing I noticed was that as soon as I put the product on my arms, I had wasps coming after me -- yikes! Then a bit later, I noticed an odd, unpleasant smell, very similar to the smell clothes or linens sometimes get when they've been sitting in the closet for a long time. Just stale and yucky. I thought it must be my shirt, even though the shirt was freshly washed. Put on another shirt that smelled nice and fresh, but that smell was still following me around. I finally realized that it was my arms smelling that way -- blech! The product smells very pepperminty when you first put it on, but at least on me, the smell later is very unpleasant. Maybe it is reacting somehow with my personal body chemistry, but between that smell and the wasps, this stuff is going in the garbage.

I bought this spray to give it a try, but it's so strong smelling it makes not only me gag when I spray it, it make my hose sneeze and any other horses anywhere near us in the barn. I gave it to mu friend who holds her breath when she sprays it.

I thought that I would give this a try because at my boarding barn flies are such a problem. I have also heard sometimes rotating fly sprays can help. I used Outsmart in my rotation & found the flies stayed away from my gelding in the barn. The smell can be a bit overpowering at first but dissipates well. I like it & will keep it my arsenal of fly sprays.

Immediately switched to OutSmart after trying it
I'd been using a different fly spray that I wasn't unhappy with (I feel like you need to have reasonable expectations of fly spray, haha) -- but then I had the chance to try OutSmart one day, and I ordered a bottle that very evening. That's how obvious the difference was. That was a couple months ago and I've been happily using OutSmart ever since. My horse is clearly more comfortable when I apply this, and the pepperminty smell, while definitely strong, is pleasant. And even though the #1 reason I bought it is that it worked, I do also love that it doesn't have all the chemicals that many other fly sprays do.

Best spray ever!!

Natural Fly Spray
I purchased this product in July. It does not blister my horse's sensitive skin and seems to work about as well as some other natural fly sprays I recently purchased. Unfortunately, it does not stay effective for very long... perhaps an hour or hour and a half. It does have a
nice mint fragrance. It seems to be a bit pricey compared to other natural fly sprays.

Instant relief
I watched the video on this product and decided to give it a try. My horses had immediate relief after application. I will say although the smell is pleasant, it will take your breath, so don’t inhale it too deeply. I didn’t try it while riding so that is why I didn’t give it 5 stars. I will say I applied some to myself and it worked for me as well. It’s non-greasy and almost feels like a linament, very invigorating, I would say it would feel good after a workout.

Will unfortunately not be repurchasing
I was quite excited to use this fly spray as the bugs began to get bad earlier this summer. The use of plant-based ingredients, free from permethrin, pyrethroids, pyrethrins, and DEET, were a total selling point for me - I really felt like this was a fly spray I could get behind for my horses and myself.
I had been using it for a few days while turning my horses out, and when I rode one buggy evening, I thought it would be a good idea to also use some on myself, as the bottle says it is safe for humans. When I sprayed it onto my hands and rubbed it both on my arms and close to my face, anywhere it was on my body STUNG incredibly. It must be the peppermint oil, but I ended up not being able to ride that evening because I was in so much pain.
I'm sure this is a wonderful product for those not hyper sensitive, but buyer beware if you yourself have sensitivity, or you have a highly sensitive horse. It did keep the flies away from my horses though!

Non toxic fly spray
I was making my own fly spray to avoid the chemicals but was always finding flies around my mare. OutSmart is non toxic, smells good and it does work. with 100% guarantee... you have nothing to lose !!!!

Effective, Natural Alternative
I bought a bottle on a whim, willing to try a more natural fly spray and have been very pleasantly surprised by this! The price point is great and it really keeps the flies at bay for my horse all day long. It's got a very menthol-y smell that I love, and although it's strong at first, I just make a point to spray it all over him quickly and then head right to his paddock. He's had significantly less bites on his legs since starting using this product, as well as his face. This is great for a horse who doesn't like/destroys fly masks, because it's gentle enough to spray all over and it WORKS! Stock up now :)

Best Natural Option
We’ve been using this for two years now and it’s still my first choice. It is the only truly safe fly spray I’ve found. For it to be effective it does have to be heavily applied sprayed not too far away. It is mostly peppermint essential oil, so yes it’s very pepperminty but that’s fine with us and all of our horses. I can’t use traditional sprays because they are all hormone mimicking and can cause tumors.

Works pretty well!
I tried my first bottle of OutSmart recently and I must say, it works pretty well. I've tried EVERY natural fly spray on the market, made my own, and most things don't work. My horses have sensitive skin, and no irritation on either one. The green heads and ticks are terrible this year because we really didn't have a proper winter in NJ. They do smell like a candy store after spraying them, but what the heck -- as long as the ticks and flies stay away.
