Might bother some horses, not others. Effective.
Works great but some horses may have a sensitivity to the scent. I had a horse in the past that would blow and snort aggressively after using this but my current horse isn’t bothered by it at all and happily gets sprayed. I also use it on myself. We haven’t had any issues with flies or ticks while using it, so far anyway.

Works way better than the others
I bought this to be ready for fly season in May. The flys do not like it!! It’s more effective than any I’ve used so far, and believe me I’ve tried them all. My horse snorts at the the smell when I spray it on, so I’ve started spraying it on a thin rag(away from her) and wiping her down with it, she isn’t bothered by this method!

Works great
Doesn’t smell the best to me personally but the flys don’t seem to like the smell either. Sprayed this on my mare and the flys never touched her afterwards. It’s lower priced than other fly sprays and works the best out of all the ones I have tried.

This stuff works
I am close to the Rio Grande River in Las Cruces, NM. Also, I am surrounded by Pecan Orchards that are flooded repeatedly with River water. You cannot imagine the mosquito infestation. My poor horses. Nothing I tried worked. OutSmart works more than 90%. Those pecky skeeters can find a minute spot the spray misses. I got the buy two get one free. Now, I am buying a gallon! Oh, it also works on the flies 100%, but I spray two horses fully morning and evening.

Didn’t work at all
I received this a couple of months ago. The price was reasonable so I tried it. I have tried many different types of Flyspray and wanted to give this brand a chance. Unfortunately it didn’t work at all. Even immediately after spraying it on my horse flies landed on him. My horse didn’t like the smell either and he kept blowing his nose.

Smells Terrible, but guess it works and it's natur
I tried this fly spray out and it has a heavy scent of mint. Myself and the horse cannot stand the scent. Finished up the bottle and will not order again.

Mixed feelings on this one
I really like that this is natural, and I really wanted to love it, but it isn't strong enough for the height of fly season, at least not where my horses live. Of my three horses, one of them coughs EVERY time I use it, one of them tries to run away from it and sneezes constantly when I spray him, and it seems to have no effect on the third one. It might keep the flies away long enough for me to tack them up to ride, but the effectiveness doesn't last long, so I have to keep reapplying and using a lot of the product for it to be useful. Since two of my horses had a negative opinion of it, I can't recommend this to others.

Still searching for a fly spray that really works
Disappointed in the results with this fly spray. Within 30 minutes of spraying my mare the flies started landing on her again. I do LOVE the smell vs the other fly sprays though!

Love!
I have used this product for the last 3 summers & I love it! I have in a pinch used other fly sprays when I ran out & can tell they don't work as well. The peppermint smell is VERY strong, I end up covering my mouth when I use it but it works wonders for my guy!

All 3 horses had a reaction
One horse had a reaction ( mucus discharge) one horse couldn’t tolerate it on his skin and needed to have the fly spray washed off. One horse sneezed a lot.

Worked on one horse, burned the other
This seems to work as well as anything on one of my horses and the smell is definitely better than others.
But, when I put it on my other horse, it was clearly burning him almost immediately. He started to shake and went down to roll and roll. I got him up long enough to wash it off and then he was fine again. I tested it on a small section the next day, same reaction. I guess he's sensitive to the active ingredients, so be sure to test this first.

Holy stink…
It smells like peppermint…but on steroids. The smell is so strong that my horse hates it. I can’t really use it on myself either because it gives me a headache. It seems to work for the flies but oh man. It’s hardly usable for the stench.

Wish it worked
I’ve used this product for a few years, mainly when getting ready to ride. I’ve noticed this year that it provides very little deterrence after a few minutes. Maybe our pesky pests are becoming more stubbornly immune.

Peppermint Scent
Is really strong, like my horse and I are both choking and coughing strong. It works as well as any fly spray, in that you’re spraying your horse and hoping it works this time.

Smells nice and that’s about it
May as well use water. I bought 2 bottles and it was a total waste of money. I sprayed my horse down very thoroughly. In the 30 seconds it took to walk him to the pasture the flies were back. I now basically use it as an expensive air freshener to make the barn smell nice. Terrible product.

Did Not Work
I was very disappointed to find that this fly spray did not work on the flies in Southern California. It did not even kill the flies when sprayed directly. They would fly off then come right back a few minutes later.

Sticky residue, took off horse's hair!
I used this for a few weeks in early spring, not entirely sure it was keeping bugs off but happy to try a "natural" product. After small bottle was gone, I ordered a refill jug and used it generously since bug season was now upon us. It left a sticky dark residue on my horse's coat, but I (foolishly) continued to use it, thinking that it was worth it to keep the bugs away. Big mistake!! A patch of sticky residue on her chest actually removed the hair!! I've since bathed her well to get all of it off from her entire body and am hoping (expecting) that the hair will grow back. I wish I could recommend this product, but I do not.

Only thing for South Georgia bugs!
We live in a very humid area with little breeze, especially during insect season. This fly spray works better than anything we have ever used before! It is strong, so avoid it blowing back in your face, but man, it works for the gnats, flies, and mosquitos! I even put a dab by my ears to keep the bugs away when I am out there. Leaves no oily residue and dirt does not attrack on my white horse.

Works Amazingly!!!!
I bought this product a week ago and it’s worked better than all the fly sprays I’ve tried. I lease a thoroughbred and she’s sensitive but I works pretty well on her although if she’s already up when I get her from the field she does kind of react to it. It smells like peppermint and it can be really strong especially if it blows back in your face. Overall it’s a really good product and works really well.
