Rated 5 out of 5 by Lindsay from This is the only half lad you’ll need! I’m so impressed by this half pad. It enhances my saddle fit and no uneven sweat patterns. I was a bit apprehensive as it seems a little thick at first but it squishes down once under saddle. I wouldn’t go back to any other half pad after this. Seriously worth every penny. I got one in black so it wouldn’t show dirt as easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sarah Ann from Great pad I LOVE this and so do the horses I ride! I ride a few different horses and notice most of them stretch through their topline better with this pad. I feel good that they’re comfortable and it looks nice too. The only downside is that the pad is thick, so for flat backed, wide horses, it makes the saddle slip side to side because of the thickness. I still use it with wide horses, I just add a breastplate. Overall a great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jessica from High quality and soft My horse and I have an Antares saddle, which has foam padding, and since she is an OTTB and still building up her top line and gaining weight I wanted something that provided extra cushion to support her and help her sensitive skin. This pad is perfect! It provides a squishy, soft feel that is like riding on a cloud. It’s really cool to see it work too! You can see where it gets more/less compressed during your ride which can help highlight any imbalances or unevenness.

He felt much looser through the back and relaxed during our ride, I'm guessing because it cushioned my saddle on his back more. It felt awesome for me too - he has comfortable gaits but this pad made them even more comfortable.

I ended up returning it and purchasing the same product in the hunter style (not carried by SmartPak, unfortunately). The hunter-style pad, which is identical in every way save for shape and size is perfect. I love the plain white for shoes and the washable cover. It seems durable and my baby seems happy.

Recently I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did and so is my horse! It really feels like I’m riding on a cloud it’s so soft and cushiony! But I don’t feel disconnected from my horse and his movements at all. He apparently loves it too! He really stretched down and was moving forward during our first ride with it (something he never does!) He’s a high withered, senior TB and finding pads that give him enough wither clearance is next to impossible but the ogilvy baby pads and half pads have been our savior!

Rated 5 out of 5 by abc124 from My favorite half pad I've ever tried To be quite honest, I didn't have a specific reason for buying this pad, but I am so glad I did! I've tried many half pads before, and I thought they did the job. I didn't realize just how important half pads were for both rider and horse! I have had trouble with back pain when riding, and this pad fixed it like a dream! No matter the saddle, it is unexplainably comfortable, it's just like sitting on a couch! Love love love it! No more back pain :). Not to mention, it stays in place well, looks amazing on my guy, and I am able to feel his back a lot more when riding, it has made getting lead changes way easier.

My neighbor who is a professional trainer, recommended this pad to help with saddle fit. Smart Pad had the best price and super fast shipping. I use a 1/4 inch wool pad under the Ogilvy and I'm getting good consistent sweat marks on her back. My mare is happy and gaits like a dream! Now I definitely won't spill my champagne glass! Love those Pasos!
