Why We Love This

The Ogilvy Dressage Baby Pad is the perfect training pad for the day-to-day best ride! This little pad carries all the characteristics of the Ogilvy pads: very ergonomic, with its unique V-top shape, it reduces friction at the withers and on the back, and sets the pad firmly at the base of the withers. Made of resistant poly cotton twill, protected with stain resistance on the outside, and a special quick-dry anti-bacterial/anti-fungal brushed poly on the inside. No foam in the inner section: it has been replaced by high performance hollow core fibre that wicks away the moisture from your horse and dries quickly after use. Maximum breathability, moisture wicking. V-Shape: special protection for the withers and the back. Stain resistant, Anti-microbial and anti-fungal. Quick dry This pad comes standard with the binding only. It also has girth loops at the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Trying My Best from I LOVE THIS PAD I just switched from H/J to dressage and had no idea how hard it is to find a dressage pad that fits my needs! They are either too long for my shortbacked horse or don't drop down far enough on the sides for my long saddle flaps or don't have a contoured cut at the withers or are so thick it defeats the purpose of having a custom saddle. THIS is my new baby, literally! The underside is like suede or bamboo - so soft and easy to brush free of dirt. And the single round decorative metal stud(?) that goes behind the saddle is such a nice touch of elegance as opposed to - IMO - putting crystals on everything. I'd even ride with it in the show ring - winner winner!

A bonus feature is ample material under the pommel to keep the pad off the whithers for whither relief. Pad looks classy. Love it!!! This solved my saddle slippage problem w my round QH pony.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AbbyG from Best Baby Pad Ever! I've been spending the last few years replacing all my old dressage saddle pads with these. They hold up even after many washings, and I use them for schooling and for show. Some I purchased from Ogilvy directly, with pretty colored piping/binding options, but then I ordered some from SmartPak to which I added custom ribbon trim. They never slip, I love not having billet straps, the underside stays so nice and soft, and they work well for both my no withers roly-poly pony and my average withers horse. I've used them both with and without half pads, and they're great either way. I wash mine 3 at a time with just a very small amount of Tide free & gentle, then line dry, and they've always cleaned up well, and retained their shape beautifully. There's so much to love, but to recap - fit is great for horse, they're fun to customize, and they are SO EASY to wash.

The combination makes it possible for a large pony to wear the same saddle as his "big brother"--a conventional dressage pad would have been too thick. I personally prefer to use both girth straps and billet straps, which this pad doesn't have, but understand that most people don't want to hassle with billet straps. No matter; the pad stays exactly where I place it.
