We're bringing you this product at the lowest price allowed by the manufacturer so you won't find it cheaper anywhere else. This also means we can't apply any further discounts or promotions.

As riders and online shoppers, we know it can be tough to buy a new bridle or pair of boots without trying them on. That's why we moved the fitting room to your living room (or barn)! From breeches to blankets, if you or your horse can try it on, you can return it, free! Just use the pre-paid return label included in your order within 60 days from the purchase date. And of course, please make sure the item is in like-new condition with original packaging (we said 'fitting room', not 'war room'!).

The Mylers have designed an entire bitting system to effectively communicate with any horse at any level of training. Based on bitting a horse appropriately through his training, the system works by releasing points of pressure and using softer bits as the horse progresses. Because of the bit variations available, the system may seem complex, but it is quite simple. Each mouthpiece is coordinated to a horse’s training which is generalized into four levels. These levels serve as a guide to bit selection as you match horse and rider needs.

The Myler Level 2-3 Mullen Barrel Low Port Flat Shank is a stainless steel 7" Flat Shank with Sweet Iron Mullen Barrel Low Port (MB 06, Level 2-3) Copper Inlay Mouth. This mouthpiece is made of polished Sweet Iron which naturally oxidizes or rusts. Harmless to horses, it has a sweet taste and promotes salivation.

Level 2-3:

Horse Level

  • A Level 2 horse with a good mindset, can benefit from more tongue relief.
  • A Level 3 horse with advanced skills but requiring more control; not ready for Level 3 freedom.

Mouthpiece Level

  • Features curved, ported mouthpiece for tongue relief
  • Offers variety of pressure points. Uses tongue pressure and more bar pressure, rolling on the bars. May collapse into the bars
  • May offer palate pressure depending on port height
  • May offer curb and/or poll pressure depending on cheek design
  • May offer Independent Side Movement™

Myler Level 2-3 Mullen Barrel Low Port Flat Shank is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle Leverage I am a fan of Myler bits! My quarter horse has such a wide face that I have trouble fitting him with a bit that has any type of purchase as it pinches his cheek bones. The folks at Myler wisely curved the top pieces away from the horses face. I am limited with how high the bit fits in his mouth but at least this one works. I will say though that both horses I used it on pushed right through it at first. It is not as harsh as a Tom Thumb so it takes a little practice to get the same results. My QH finally relaxed rather than bracing before any correction.
